It's only $100 million more to the $363m.

If we see a rollover in two days...Californians and New Yorkers and everyone else goes crazy...are we looking at a new North American record jackpot for Tuesday's draw?

It seems like Mega Millions jackpots were like $100 million all the time ever since California joined.  Do you think that the lawsuit that was held against the CA state government will stop California's membership or can California still continue Mega Millions regardless of the lawsuit?

But Powerball may also have huge rollovers with the new 5/55 + 1/42 matrix.  Only time will tell.

Smart lottery winners form trust to claim their winnings.  They send an attorney to the lottery headquarters to claim the prize in trust, so that ONLY the name of the trust is revealed.  And they tell NO ONE, especially relatives.

If you ever win a lottery and you are single, the only person you should ever marry is someone who was truly in love with you BEFORE you won the jackpot!

California's sales (6.3M) in the last MM jackpot were smaller than New Jersey's (8.2M) and less than half of what New York (13.5M) sold.

When I lived in California, people got really excited when the jackpot was $60M in their regular state lottery, but I think Californians are very jaded now.

Also the price of everything out there is extraordinarily high.  For 1M bucks out there you can buy a house covered with graffitti and no yard.

Really Californias population (the highest in the nation by almost 20 million) is not really helping us out that much.  NY is selling double the amount of tickets as California and they have about half Californias population.  Californians don't seem to be big fans of MM.

As with anything new, people need time to adjust.

Californians will adopt the game...it's only been two months!

I bet many are just used to ordering SLP at the counter...maybe this jackpot will shake things up.

California's total sales since joining have been about $94M.  This means they've contributed about $30M in cash value to the two jackpots in which they've participated.

In California when they changed their game from 6/49 to 6/54 sales went down dramatically.  The retreated to 6/51 and did better.  Californians are suspicious of long, long, long odds.  They do math better than we do.

              Haha,

I've read the same thing about Texas...very cautious with long odds.  Maybe it's just West vs. East mentality.  I still think CA MM sales will pick up over time.

Mega Millions set a new 4 roll record for the Oct 4 draw at $42 million. The previous record was $41 million. The 4 roll record for Powerball is also $42 million. The old $41 million record was set in the previous string of Mega Millios rolls.

The 4 roll record is the only level where the Mega Millions record matches the Powerball record.

                Good luck,
                Jake

Just6ntlc why do you want only 1 ticket to win the jackpot, what you don't like to share?  i just think it's kinda crazy when only 1 ticket wins and it is a big ass jackpot

Everyone, if I did win the jackpot, I would talk to my family and go to lottery retailer. It would be my married sister or unmarried sister will likely get their name on the winning ticket because I don't like to see my rent go up and my grants of financial aid disappear. The roll 6 record is 61 million Jake649.

Well if the 6 roll record is 61 we will beat it this time.  Jackpot is $65 if no winner.

We are seeing larger increases a lot now.  I mean it isn't even going to take 5 weeks to reach the $100 mark.  Even sales are getting faster.  If you look at this run compared to last run we are two draws ahead already.  Last run we didn't sell over $20 million until the $70+ million draw and on this one we sold over $20 million on the $50+ million draw.  Predictions for next jackpots:

                                                    $65,  $80, $98, $115, $140

These should be close as long as sales remain as they are.

Mega Millions set a new 7 roll record for the Oct 14 draw at $77 million. The previous record was $72 million. The 7 roll record for Powerball is $65.6 million.

Mega Millions has set an unprecedended number of roll records lately. This streak should continue until the jackpot is won. Conversely, Powerball has not set any new roll records lately despite its new matrix and annuity payout.

                              Good luck,
                              Jake
