This thread's getting a bit long.  Nobody in his right mind is going to read it all through and probably nobody will even read this far.

That's the reason I think it's time to wrap it up, tie a nice bow around it, and let it slide into the scrap-heap of LP history.

That's also the reason I feel comfortable making what I hope will be the final post on this tread.

The people I've been referring to as jackals, the people someone else referred to as pirahna (sp), aren't members of the lottery ownership organizations.

They're aliens.  They're just trying to help.

I wouldn't have realized that if I hadn't seen Easy Rider (Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda, Jack Nicholson, circa 1968) for the first time in several decades:

Nicholson:  "That was a UFO, beamin' back at ya. Me and Eric Heisman was down in Mexico two weeks ago - we seen forty of 'em flying in formation.

"They-they-they've got bases all over the world now, you know. They've been coming here ever since nineteen forty-six - when the scientists first started bouncin' radar beams off of the moon. And they have been livin' and workin' among us in vast quantities ever since. The government knows all about 'em."

Nicholson describes more of his "crackpot idea" to Dennis Hopper about how aliens from the planet Venus (from a "more highly evolved" society without war, money, or political leaders) have already landed on Earth. They don't reveal themselves as living and working people because they are indistinguishable from normal human beings. Their mission is to help "people in all walks of life" to evolve into a higher destiny. In his theory, the US government leaders have repressed information about the extraterrestrials who represent the status quo:

Nicholson:  "Well, they are people, just like us - from within our own solar system. Except that their society is more highly evolved.

"I mean, they don't have no wars, they got no monetary system, they don't have any leaders, because, I mean, each man is a leader. I mean, each man - because of their technology, they are able to feed, clothe, house, and transport themselves equally - and with no effort..."

"Why don't they reveal themselves to us is because if they did it would cause a general panic.

"Now, I mean, we still have leaders upon whom we rely for the release of this information. These leaders have decided to repress this information because of the tremendous shock that it would cause to our antiquated systems.

"Now, the result of this has been that the Venutians have contacted people in all walks of life - all walks of life". (He laughs)  "Yes. It-it-it would be a devastatin' blow to our antiquated systems - so now the Venutians are meeting with people in all walks of life - in an advisory capacity.

"For once man will have a god-like control over his own destiny. He will have a chance to transcend and to evolve with some equality for all."

Right here on LP.

There should be a counseling page link here. Obsessive-compulsive, shizophrenic, paranoid members or those with illusions of grandeur or anger management issues click here. (Don't come back 'til the therapy session is over).

The rest can go through the metal detector and join the discussion.

        I'm backkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

metal detector is ringing off the hook to much metal in me now, i just disrobe as i enter the building.

Great post Rick i often feel the same way. If it weren't for the entertainment value i would of moved on but to where. This place is gerrrrrrrrrrrat!

        Jack i feel for you.

Oh I saw easy rider i never cried at or because of a picture show but i cried when they shot the boys, for some reason i saw my life pass me by. Felt like it was me they shot. Couldn beleive the ending but you had to know it was going to happen Peter saw it to when he was at the brothel. Or at least i think thats when he got the intuitive premonition.

        Stgermain thank's for stopping by.

          PAC:

Thanks for the post.  That would have slipped right by me.

We define ourselves by directly by our deeds thoughts and less directly by our words.

The only thing I see wrong with the winnerman's post is it was too early in the thread.

Coming at the end, it puts a middling nice cap on things.  A synopsis, as it were.

Although I have him on block, I have to tip my hat in gratitude to the winnerman.

This thread might have drifted if it went on much longer.

If you fear death maybe you ought to ask yourself whether it offers more promise than a world where cheetos, blowtorches and the guy with the bug-eyes are part of the picture.

1965, or so, I saw that same group of guys in an all-night diner during a hitch-hiking stop over in Texas.  They looked paler than now, had chaws of tobacco in their cheeks and wore John Deere ball caps and cowboy hats, but otherwise they haven't changed much.

Wanted to know if I was one of the Beetles.  My hair was over my ears.

                      I didn't make Woodstock, Mike.

But it's as well you didn't make it into those times.  It was all sex, drugs and rock and roll.

Looking at that picture a little more reminded me the other place I'd seen those guys before.

A couple of other drunken GIs and I were down in a village in Korea named Pong Il Chon.  Stood on the side of the trough where the villagers all got their drinking water and peed into it.

Seemed fairly funny until the guys in that picture showed up, one with a butcher knife.

Those guys in that picture are all Koreans, Mike.

                          Weird.
