I rarely find ticket hawks or chasers like most people here on the forums, but I just only happened to get in line when someone at the counter was redeeming tickets. He was telling the clerk "this is all I got from buying the whole thing" with a bunch of expletives following. Not sure the reason I just ended up leaving without making a purchase.
About a week ago I pulled off a half roll purchase and got 7 break evens, I was I also recall CatScratch reporting 1 Ticket break even prize out of half roll too. Losses are painful.
I probably will return to the $10 game at the end of this Replay contest, as there will be another $1M Fortune/Diamond Millionaire payout variant. Experiencing a $100 win would be less painful. I do recall the Lottery celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2010 and they did have a $5 game Millions In Cash (I think its the first ticket to offer better payouts) where there was an extra replay (not End of Game Draw) for the $1 Million top prize.

According the the website, another $5 Million Top Prize has been claimed.
Yeah, saw that. Another reason to ease off on playing $5M JP.
The game is about 89% sold, but the top prize is now 85% paid out. So it's a bit overpaid and ahead of the game sales. I'll probably wait it out a bit till November.(today will be last day)

Hmmm... that didn't sound right.(too early in the morning) Meant to say $5M JP is 89% remaining and top prize is 85% remaining. Top prize is a couple weeks ahead of sales, but that doesn't mean that another one couldn't be found tomorrow and put it further in the hole.
But I'll still stay away for a few weeks to let sales catch up. Will this strategy help in any way? No. It's just something to do. So that's it for me. No more $20 $5M JP until November.
Only reason I played it today was because I lost a couple days in a row at one store, so had to go back and try and get even. Didn't fully succeed, but got 4 of 5 hits after cashing in my PB ticket:

$5M JP: 0, $50
$1M Fortune: tkt
$500K Riches: $10
Cool Cash: $10
The game is still selling much faster than a $5 or $10 game. The $1M Fortune still has not ended even though its been over a year.
I recall reading on this forum that when a top prize is found, avoiding ticket ranges proportional to the number of ticket rolls to the number of top prizes is another strategy. There should be 1 in every 80,000 ticket rolls, when each roll is 30 tickets and the odds are 1 in 2.4 million. Thus 1000000 - 1079999, 1080000 - 1159999, and such.
Probably look for tickets 1160000 and beyond.
Really nice hit on the Powerball ticket, considering odds of hitting 4 out of 5 or 6 is rare for any draw games, but all you get for matching that is around $100 :(
Powerball is about hitting the Jackpot or almost missing by 1 number, all the other prizes are not as good. More power to the person in Fresno who won last night. The best I ever got was 3 out of 5 and 2 out of 5 with Powerball match. Thats only $7.

The pack tracking strategy is tricky, because unless you are well connected (like a thieving lottery security person) its hard to know where they are distributed. Different areas may start with different ranges of packs from different distribution centers. SoCal and NorCal may be completely different starting ranges.
So far I've seen 1004xxx and pretty consistent on up through 1205xxx in my LA area. But unless we see a winning Top Prize ticket number, hard to know which batches to avoid. They typically hide the winning ticket pack number if they ever do show it. Some states don't even print the pack number on the front, only on the back.
One thing I look for is if the pack numbers are generally increasing, and then a few months later I see some recycled older lower numbered packs, I think those are duds.(no top prizes) Redistributed from other areas, they're just extra tickets they have to sell. But you never know...

I read the story of the idiot who won the $5 million in L.A. and it never ceases to amaze me how stupid a lot of the winners are. They carry tickets around in their pockets for a week, are too scared to cash them, throw the tickets away, etc. It's amazing. And the detail oriented people like us here are just happy for $100 winners. I would be living in my car overnight in front of the <snip> Lottery Office in Santa Ana if I had the $5 million dollar winner.
I will miss the $1 million dollar fortune one when it's done. I have just slayed it with that game. All of the retailers I know here in Orange County around the Newport Beach/Costa Mesa area have been consistent in saying that the $20 game is a dog and Diamond Millionaire sucks. I have heard countless stories of people coming in and spending $300-$500 on the $20 game and getting nothing higher than a $50 winner. They are actually angry as retailers because of how pissed off some people are. One guy told me "I ain't selling you a $20 ticket because I like you and you play here everyday." He said I would be better off taking $20 and setting it on fire out in the parking lot. How funny was that?
I am hoping the new $10 game is fun when it comes out.

Agree.. The Diamond Millionaire is horrendous...Nothing more than $20 bucks ever have I won on that... The 2 $5 I have bought so far were duds... I see very few $10 Fortune sellers in my neck of woods ( Glendale/ Burbank and Santa Clarita valley). It still has 5 more top prizes left and its over sold so far...

I think the story is made up when I read to the point where the person tried to enter the replay and could not figure out what was going on. But at the end of the day, that guy is $5 million richer and I am $1k poorer.
I double check by either scanning the ticket bar code at a retailer or entering the ticket on replay (seems only 20 - 30% of the actual ticket losers get entered in except for those high prize ceiling games).
Judging by the appearence of the upcoming $10 game this coming Monday. It looks to be another Diamond Millionaire and $1 Million Fortune. The 20 Matchable Numbers along with a Fast 100 spot, with a 10X, 20X, and Win All symbol. Essentially the odds and pay out are the same so I am baffled with the hatred of Diamon Milliare. Not sure if its the law of averages is catching up to those that had success with $1 Million Fortune.

The story sounds plausible, but yeah, the sequence of events is a bit strange. Perhaps something was lost in translation with the reporter.
Probably was an overlooked single number match. They seem to like to hide top prizes as single number matches.(in the hopes they get thrown away?) I think I check my tickets pretty thoroughly, but even I've found a few overlooked winners myself when entering them in replay. But yeah, a few glances over, and you will eventually find the number you missed.
It is quite typical for single number matches to get overlooked and thrown away in the trash, especially on ticket value wins.(also crosswords, etc.) That's why some games have prize tiers claimed so unevenly, because of confusing game features and thrown away winners. Theres people I know of that play just on free "found money" from the scratch trash can at the store.
So whenever you see ending games with a surplus of top prizes still unclaimed relative to overall game sales, Like $1M Fortune, you gotta wonder: Are those tickets really out there? Or are were they thrown away, or lost or discarded in the inventory?

$5 mil players, have you noticed lower numbers on the lotto? I mean I have seen 1, 2 ,3,4,5 7,8 and 9 frequently on the 2 I bought so far... I have never seen 1 , 2, 3,4 ,5,6 in the Diamond MIllionaire or Fortune.

Yup I do notice that. I think since there are 25 spots to cover, they need all the numbers they can get.
You will not see a 10 or 20 as those are reserved for multipliers.
