Given the fact that C4L rarely has any $1,000 a day for life winners, it's really a $1,000 a week game. And the various state lotteries are very aware of that fact.
Personally, I like the game.... but as with most high odds games, I really have a second place win in mind when I play. Make no mistake... it's expensive at 2 bucks a line, and that's probably the main reason why they don't sell enough tickets to produce a top prize winner very often. G5
I just Googled "Cash 4Life NY winners"
I found a news article for a JP winner in Maryland earlier in 2016. In the article it says there have been 15 jackpot winners and 22 second place winners. I would think that has to be over the entire life of the game and in all seven states that offer the game. G5

C4L is a tough game to win a big prize. And it's expensive at $2.00 a line. That's same price as a line of PowerBall numbers.
It's not all that hard to win small prizes of $2.00, $4.00 or $10.00 - I've managed to do that numerous times. But what I like about C4L is that unlike PowerBall which carries odds of 275 million to 1 to win the JP, C4L's jackpot odds are 21.8 million to 1. Second place is 7.3 million to 1, and I think you can take a cash lump sum of 1 million dollars (before taxes) as opposed to the annuity of 1,000 a week for life. That's why I play it. I did, however, have to slow down on other daily games I play due to that 2 bucks per line. I'm spending about the same amount of money per week as I always did, but I'm not playing those daily games as much as I once did.
I don't play PowerBall unless the jackpot get very big. Even then the main reason I play it is because I like to be able to say that "I was in the biggest lottery drawing in history" for whatever that's worth...
Anyway.... I've already started looking at past drawings to narrow down which numbers I want to play next Monday. I'll post here about which numbers I like for Monday nite's draw and why I like 'em. G5

GiveFive,
I 'm playing C4L and LFL w/ $ that used to go to PB and MM w/ mp
same as you I will buy those when the JP is overgrown just to be "in it"
The price point on the big games is what drove me...and I think others to these games, along w/ better odds.
I've done slightly better on LFL, $20 and $25 wins, but the odds on that game are a little better on secondary prizes,
but then the prizes are smaller too.
For example the 2nd prize on LFL is 1/2 of C4L but the odds are way > twice as good,
and I think LFL has had more winners in 2nd category.
Meanwhile C4L has better odds on the JP
Both are about 1 in 8 overall. LFL may have more winners B/C it's played in more states.
I hear ya Haymaker.....
I used to play L4L when my daughters were in college over in Connecticut. I had lots of reasons to drive over there back then, but my daughters have graduated, so I hardly ever go over there any more even though the NY/CT border is only about a 35 minute drive from house. I think too when I was playing it (2012 timeframe) the matrix was NOT what it is today, and it was easier to hit. (I think it may have been changed to include more "Lucky Balls")
Also, at that time, it was offered only in four New England states. (CT, Mass, RI and VT) I remember seeing advertisements for as "New England's game".
Here's how I look at C4L with respect to playing PB. For the same 2 bucks that I could buy a line of PB, I can buy a line of C4L. The odds of winning a C4L jackpot are reduced by about 250 million to 1 from PB's. Yes, I'd win a lot more money if I won a PB jackpot, but I think I'd have an excellent quality of life living on my current income plus another $365,000 a year. Even another $52,000 a year added to my current income would serve me well. Not holding my breath, but I'll keep playing C4L. I cut down my spending on other online daily games so that I could play C4L. Because any lottery games odds are ridiculous, I do think that playing the lottery is a lot like throwing money down the toilet. So if I'm gonna throw away some of my hard earned money, I don't exceed spending a certain amount of money each week. If I can spend the same money on a game that has less ridiculous odds than PB's, then I'll play the game with the better odds.
I'm really a fan of raffles more than anything else. I drive to Pennsylvania (about an hour and ten minutes) and buy Millionaire Raffle tickets when they come out. That's got odds of 125,000 to 1 to win a million dollars. Well worth the trip! I run a pool at work with seven other guys in it, and we buy a total 16 tickets. Because there are four top prize winners of a million bucks, we have 64 chances to win it with our 16 tickets. I also buy some out side of the pool. I know you're located in Jersey and you're willing to drive to buy out of state tickets. You may want to take a look at that PA raffle. The PA Lottery's website will have all the details when they have the next one. Google PA Millionaire Raffle. G5
PS... I spent a week in Avalon and Stone Harbor in July of last year. Drove down to Cape May too. I'd never been to the Southern Jersey Shore, so I really got my eyes popped! My wife was walking on the beach and saw a big crowd of people who according to her "were following some guy around." Then she pointed the guy out to me... I told her "That guy's name is Chris Christie." Figures Ol Chris would be hangin' out with all his Republican friends in Avalon. The Mercedes Dealer in Stone Harbor brought a bunch of new Mercedes over to the main drag in Stone Harbor and parked them in front of all the shops and stores where all the folks stroll by. A salesman was standing by each one trying to sell them. I told that twenty something kid that I'd be back after I win Cash 4Life.

Good luck to people participating in the Cash4Life game. How do you play Cash4Life?
I hope that one $2 ticket is the only one that matches all 5 numbers plus the PB to win the largest PB jackpot in United States history of over $2 Billion Dollars! I hope that one $2 ticket is the only one that matches all 5 numbers plus the Mega Ball to win the largest Mega Millions jackpot in United States history of over $2 Billion Dollars!

GiveFive,
Sorry for delayed response.
I'm with ya, 35 min. is not a bad ride, but still you might need a secondary reason for the trip.
35 min. and I'm just in the next county. 90 min. to Delaware so I might not make the trip in bad weather or if I'm busy.
On the PB odds, the less I play the more unrealistic those odds seem, and I don't really need $100s MILS. and the headaches it includes.
Yes 365Gs or 52Gs would be fine, although..I'll take the lump sum to be sure.
Adjusted my weekly spending as well,
Was now
$6 PB/w $4 CFL
$4 MM/w $4 LFL if I go to Delaware
$7 JC5 daily game $1 JC5 if it goes over $300,000
$2 PIC6 $1 PIC6 if CV goes over $4 MIL.
$19 a week so far this is averaging out to $1 a day.
I go to PA about 6 times a year, Philco/Montco area have freinds and family there, about 70 minutes ride.
But raffles seem expensive...aren't they like $20 a pop ?
Sounds like you had a good time in South Jersey, glad to hear it, but you know the saying...nice place to visit...
well, been living here quite a while and I'm ready to go.
Had to laugh at the 20 something car salesmen, I had a brief career as a salesman (chevy) when I was 21, very brief,
you can have that job. LOL !
