Florida Fantasy Five
I don't think it's a great idea. I've seen the 4 out of 5 hit as high as 1200 bucks. Also, you do have to pay taxes, even though it's not enforced. Any gambling win is taxable and has to be reported.

I can get closer to a win doing just all ODD/Evens
Wow! does the fantasy-5 in FL pay THAT little for 4 out of 5 ??? $80 to $100 ??? NY Take 5 pays $300-$900 depending on how many winners at that level. And it yes after $600 you have to pay taxes on the win !!

Ohio Rolling Cash5 jackpot at $324,000
I agree! That's what I like about RC5... $100,000 ($72,000 after taxes) without completely ridiculous odds! I can live with that...

Ambivalence
Wow, in NY if you hit 3/5 you win anywhere from 18 to 25 bucks!! I think this is the first time I have said something poistive about NY here @ LP!!! But the down fall is the jackpot is really never more the about $110k. And if more than one person wins it really gets low. I have seen a bunch of people win a little more than 10k BEFORE taxes!!!

Lottery programs and never a Pick 5
Yeah, a half-million bucks (or even a million) before taxes, just isn't the life-changing event it used to be. It's nice, and it would, like you say, pay off some bills. But you can't retire on it, and it just makes things a bit easier for the person if they play it right. Therefore, its not much of a story from the media's standpoint.

Lottery programs and never a Pick 5
Sometimes because there are stories behind the winners like people fighting over a ticket found in a trash bin or a defective ticket. I've seen stories online about Pick 5 winners, but also a Pick 5 win after taxes even a 500K win is just enough to buy a home and pay off a few bills.

Who wants to hear about the new PA 5/30?
1 player won the $41,000. It appears that the listed amount ($30,000) is what you actually get after taxes. I wish they would be that honest with powerball. As if the numbers are not big enough.

oklahoma cash 5 is a joke
Thanks for the correction, I'm surprised they printed that amount in big letter rather than its value before taxes as other states do. They must be trying something new in lottery advertisement, truth.

oklahoma cash 5 is a joke
I appreciate the many comments, pro and con, about the new Oklahoma Cash 5 game. The best way to learn is to listen to experienced players from states that have had the lottery a long time. Lottery commissioner Jim Scroggins came here from the Missouri Lottery. I notice that Missouri has a game called the Show Me 5 Paydown. It is played every day and the top prize is $50,000 taxes paid. The Missouri Show Me 5 Paydown is a 5/44 game, while the Oklahoma Cash 5 is a 5/36 game. A lower top

Ohio Rolling Cash5 rolls to $556,000.00
Receiving lottery tickets through the mail is the part that is illegal. No body send money through the mail with Western Union, credit cards and money orders being available. Send your sister a check, money order or western union with the money. If you win you will have to come to Ohio to claim the jackpot or have her claim it, paid the taxes and send you the rest minus a fee for her troubles.
