There's another thread on this, but I want to say that, although no taxes will be withheld, the win will be reported to the IRS since it's over $600. So whether the winner pays now or later, he/she still has to pay the piper. (At least there's no state income tax in Florida.)

Hey butch, I see the file but where is the key to reading it? thanks for any help, out $80 bucks on my wheel tonight (ouch!) Thought for sure one or two of the numbers would have repeated from last night, no repeats last 3 draws. I followed up on this and it looks like it was two different people. You are right about the taxes and the jackpot but looks like we pay more for 4 or 3 numbers....but what really sucks in NY is when you hit 4 out of 5 and it pays more than $600 -TAX-WACK!!

Into the pockets of the fat cats that run this wonderful country. I mean after all the purpose of most states having a lottery is to fund education and things along that nature. At least that what we were told before we voted yes. Now we have to pay taxes too??? Who really wins? Not me.

If they are going to create a Pick5/39 they should have gotten Florida's Mega Money: Pick4/44 + Pick1/22....To me that will have been a better idea and see the jackpot grows $500,000 every time...But again i forgot you are dealing with the USA where they take half of it in taxes...
