Makenmo, If each winning ticket is 500$ What it means is that it's a single win of 500$ not 600$ or more. Let's say you buy a scratch off and win 1,000 then yes you would have to claim taxes on it. But 500$ no taxes involved since it's not over the 600$ limit. If you win 500$ 5 times yes that is 2500$ but each win was not over 600$ I don't think any store will let you cash in 2500$ at one time, but if you take each winning ticket to different stores then BAM 2500$ cash no taxes.

When we buy tickets in Washington State and win on a dollar ticket, it is $500.00 . If you buy 5 tickets it is 2,500.00. When you turn in a 500.00 ticket, you are not required to pay any taxes. However if you play any of the other games and win over $500.00 you have to go to the lottery office to get a check and taxes are taken out. I have seen many players win on multiple tickets, I never heard them say I hit the Daily game for $1000.00 and I am taking the cash to lottery office

By the way, I went to the lottery office and filled a form out. They just printed the check without asking me any questions. They never asked me anything about taxes. I never told anyone not to take taxes out. I agree with everything you said. please stop making me look like a jerk or an idiot. I appreciate the advice and I speak from personal experience also. Can we please all get along here.

On $13,000 Pick 4 win they only took $700. Yes they will check all federal and state agencies and hospitals in NC for debt. They only take state taxes--no federal taxes. Dk
