Powerball probability question
The easy formula is to look at powerball.com, and click on how to play and then the 9 ways to win link to find the odds. Not that it's a big difference, but it's pretty close to 1 in 3.56 million for each ticket. Your overall odds are determined by dividing the odds by the number of tickets you have, assuming each ticket has a different set of numbers. Buy 10 tickets and you've got a 1 in 356,000 chance of hitting 5+0. Buy 20 ticket and it's 1 in 178,000. Of course your odds of winning anyt

If you wanted to bet $300 in MM, what would be the smartest method?
I would definitely say bet $10.00 per drawing. I've known too many people who bet more then $300 at a time and always were disappointed with a big let down. I guess when you think you've got more tickets, there's bound to be a bigger winner in there but that's not necessarily so. I once sold a lady $1500 worth of quick picks at the liquor store I worked at and she only won a few 3 spots! Save yourself the big let down and stretch it out in smaller increments. That way the disappointments (I h

what does a prediction formula look like?
Ricky, people talk and some people believe them. I don't believe anyone on this forum makes a living on the lottery. Why? Because no one posts consistent wins on the prediction board for one. Second, they haven't proved it.I should have been from Missouri, the show me state because like I said in another forum....I made a $100,000 profit last year? You gonna believe me? Some people would........I can say anything I want on here and I bet half the people would take it as is .......the po

Quantum Physics
It's interesting how people who win frequently or win really big never give any impression that they read tea leaves, use quantum equations or have the help and wisdom of gods and spirits to figure out their numbers to play. All winning cases I hear about are either the quick pick variety or the odd person who always played the same numbers (usually sentimental numbers like birthdays) for decades and finally had luck with them. Even the profiles of most winners, like Whittaker and the recent cas

Looking for Brilliant Minds
I've read up and down in this forum and I can see right away that there are some really good Mathematicians here. I'm wondering if any of you would care to join our Pick-3 mailing list on Yahoo Groups. We need some fresh ideas and perhaps some new algorithms. Right now we are discussing the laws of probability. After all, The pick-3 has only 1,000 combinations versus 23 MILLION like in the big lotto. Of course you can't win as much playing the pick-3, but I'm not sure why you guys don't dabble w

Probability formula Independent events
For those folks that would like to see the chances of success in achieving 10 consecutive outcomes of equally like dvents expressed in formula this is it. Keep in mind that an dvent can be a contest of one time or 10 times. There is a lot of confusion and distortion that arises from this simple misunderstanding. an dvent = 1 contest or trial or an dvent = 10 contest or ( n contest or trials) The b

Probability of Repeats, Subsequent Draws
WIN DAnd that is why I say if you can consistently do marginally better than the published odds in these big odds games for the 3's, 4's and 5's you're doing very well. Some of us know and have confirmed that some of the outrageous claims made by some promoters will not stand close scrutiny. You have a little pick at someone who's getting a bit too y now and then, that's all - if you tried to take them all on you'd go nuts. For the regular contributions you make I think you should be thanked for t

Information Theory and Lotto
Gasmeterguy, you are on the right path. I believe that whoever can relate FRACTALS to the lottery will be the all time winner. As mortals, we all believe everything is random. However, the truth is NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS REALLY RANDOM. Just because no one has discovered the pattern yet does not mean one does not exist. The only success I have experienced playing Pick 3 and Pick 4 has been the use of patterns. One software product I used helped me win by plotting 3 GRAPHS. I noticed
