how have you done with lottery in 2006?
I would say I have done fair. I have spent about $3000 all year and profited about $900. This includes my spending in Reno, Nevada. But as someone said in this post, I am still having fun. I had 4 number minus the powerball and another number about 3 weeks ago in Mega Millions, and won $150. I felt like I was walking on water. Its the first time I had come that close to a jackpot, ever.

New States on the PB/MM Block
Mississippi has the Nevada mentality towards lottery so far- casinos but no lottery. Doesn't really make sense. The casinos worry that the lottery will take away from them but there are states with both - and both do well.

Nevada Lottery
There are plenty of lotto lovers in Nevada. Why else would the Primm Valley Lotto Store on the CA/NV border be the number one lottery retailer in California?

Nevada Lottery
Yeah, this is true...and really tunnel vision on their part. Many of the river boat casinos in the Midwest and South are owned by Nevada (and Atlantic City) companies. The boats do well, the states the boats are in with lotteires do well. I don't think a lottery is any threat to the casinos - it's been mentioned in tis thread that every dollar spent on lotto isn't spent on a slot. The slots would still get their fair share, they always do....a lot of pyaers want to hit a buttoin o

Nevada Lottery
Its true that most states that are involved in MUSL do gain overall profits. Casinos though would only get less then 2% as the seller. Casinos have a higher margin for the games in house. In essence why lower their gain just for the 2%? Its not worth it from a revenue stand point. Nevada has its pockets lined by the gambling industry no one would dare to trade the silver spoon for chop sticks.

Best place to live if you won
I don't think I know of a place with a good tax structure, (maybe Florida or Nevada) but I would probably stay in my state just in a different neighborhood. Although I might decide to move to one of the other states where some of my family lives.

What to do with lottery winnings?
Why do you think New Hampshire people are smarter than people in Nevada or anywhere else? I didn't say anywhere else. I just said that people in New Hampshire are smarter than people in Nevada. That's an obvious difference for anyone that has spent any amount of time in both states. Never said Southerners were unwelcome in the North, either. As a Yankee myself, I don't see much difference between the North and South. However, there's a ton of difference between the North and th

Where did you read that PrisonerSix would move to Nevada because of hookers? Maybe he just likes the area. How does that make him gross?

states with no lottery
None of the above. Utah's Mormons are the main poulation, and they are anti-gambling. Nevada doesn't need the revenue because they have so much coming in from the casinos. THe other states are low population states and the state wouldn't make enough profit from them.

Louisiana Lottery - Revamped website
I agree with you JimmySand9 on the minimum age situation. I think people need to be 18 or over to play, not 21 or over to play. I think only Nevada should keep the age minimum at 21.
