California man reinvests $500 lottery win into scratch-off book, scoops up $1 million prize
If you were the owner or manager of the store I guess you could secretly x-ray all the scratch offs when the store was closed, set aside the books or rolls with big winners, sell them to your buddy, and leave the duds in the store to be sold to unwitting customers. This scam sounds familiar. Wasn't there a news story about a retailer who did something similar?

CA SuperLotto slow-build 6 months
But what about that makes it illegal you are still getting the tickets from a retailer of sorts and I can make the same point as @think Regardless of all that and even tho the sales are up by quite a bit the jackpot keeps growing 1M at a time and I have actually just out of curiosity called the lottery and asked and they couldn't give me an answer as to why this is. This game is exhausting

Has a large jackpot winning ticket ever been sold
Not surprised that a large jackpot winner was sold in a Publix located in Florida. Seems to me like there is a Publix on every corner in Florida with new ones being built everywhere. Publix is the largest lottery retailer in the state, and Florida has the 3rd biggest population in The USA. G5

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Great info, Dracos...thanks for the retailer info. I'm pondering something. I saw 1490 announced as ending on the FL Lotto website, so was wondering if that's a tacit admission that any remaining top prizes are gone? I've seen similar activity with previous games. Either way I see that the #2 game 1491 is also with a final remaining win unclaimed but still going strong. Either way hope all is going well and best of luck.

Joining a lottery club?
Okay, so that's the answer. The retailer can print a QP with an annuity but the self service terminals only print CVO. G

Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 ticket worth $186,000 to expire in two weeks
Six-figure prize might go out the window By Kate Northrop There's a winning Florida Lottery Fantasy 5 ticket worth $186,000 laying unclaimed somewhere, and it's set to expire in two weeks. The Florida Lottery announced on Wednesday that a six-figure Fantasy 5 ticket worth $186,000 is going to expire, and there's not much time left for the winner to step forward. Someone bought a Fantasy 5 ticket from the Publix grocery store on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach for the drawing on Se

cashing large winning lottery tickets
It really depends on your state lottery cashing policies. In Ohio after validating tickets valued over $600 at a retailer they use designated banks for payment. In KY they use Cashing Agents that will pay up to $5000 but if you make arrangements, with them, you could get the entire $15,000 the same or next day. Call your state lottery. You'll get a W-2G for federal and any state taxes too,

$1.35 BILLION: Mega Millions jackpot set to deliver unimaginable wealth
Protected with a contract. Think about it. When you buy a lottery ticket at a retailer, you have just entered into a legal contract with a stranger.

Bad Luck Retailer??
Today I had a small winning scratcher and was near a convenience store that I could run in easily without the crowds of the usual places I go to. But then I had this feeling, Oh I don't want to go there because I've never won anything whenever I've bought tickets. I figured that was a while ago, give it another shot! So I went in and traded in my winning plus a few extra bucks for 20 scratchers. There was a guy already there scratching off about several tickets in a row he bought. He showed

Bought $40 in scratch offs
Yeah when it comes to that kind of $ I've only over done a book over time. For example, not long after the new FL $50 500X the Cash game came out I played a book via one of my regular retailer guys...would do 2 to 3 tickets at a time but he kept the book aside for me so that over the course of 6 weeks or so I ended up playing all 30 tickets. With that game the minimum win is $100 and odds for a $500 are 1/48, so odds wise there's a good chance for a $500 in each book. Whelp tbh that book was one
