What are the wrong things a Lottery Retailer does?
What are the worst things a lottery retailer or clerk do(or you presume they do) when you are buying tickets. Change my number - I buy my tickets at a mom-and-pop's store - You know just in case you win someone who could used the money gets it instead of a corporation. When I give the clerk my ticket and the machine couldn't read a number, he chooses quick pick without asking me.

Doesn't matter how or why that is. If you're a retailer in TX, one of your customers winning big one day is a retirement plan for you. If you're a retailer in NJ, one of your customers winning big one day means you'll have some spending money. Which state would you rather be a retailer in, TX or NJ? Probably also affects the way the store owner treats you when you come in to buy tickets, in which the TX retailer would act in a way to encourage repeat visits whereas the NJ retailer

All I would do is email the lottery with a detailed account of what occurred. I would not contact the owner or other authority, here's why: When the lottery receives multiple bad reports about a retailer, they send their own investigator to the store. If a clerk tries to dwindle an undercover investigator, that retailer ain't gonna be selling tickets anymore. Problem solved, without confrontation.

Again it depends on the laws determined by state legislators. Apparently there is no law in California preventing a lottery retailer from entering into a written agreement over ownership of a ticket. On the web code? It is likely an identifier for the retailer. I can't really disclose how the web code is generated but it consists of a number of elements including the retailer ID. I haven't personally gotten a chance to examine tickets to identify each element though.

$600 or less can be redeemed at any retailer. $5,000 or less can be redeemed at the agent plus locations. Any thing over that you have to go one of the 2 lottery offices. If the retailer has the cash they will cash as much as you have in winners. If they don't, the stores I go to will ask me to come back the next day and they will cash them.
