It's easy for people to forget there were state lotteries before PCs were household items and ideas for better ways to play the games were in books and pamphlets. I've read the knocks on Gail Howard, but her publications never promised jackpot and the books had useful information. It's laughable now comparing her pencil and paper charts to PC programs.

Dont knock, pen and paper stack!

However extensive my excel spreadsheets are, I still have my most IMPORTANT chart (my opinion and GH too!) and some dynamite info on paper.

Yes, the LMG does have useful information, and whenever I get on a losing streak, I always take a gander to try and determine what I am doing wrong.

Speaking of "What happens most is most likely to happen again",here is a group of 28 MM numbers that matched 5 thirty-six times in the last 799 draws.  That's an average of once ever 22 draws.

I took the liberty to put this data into excel. (NO purple colors this time! However I did format the count in the Last 36 games)  There are 36 games with this group, and it comes up multiple times in a year.

If you could SUCCESSFULLY reduce this set of 28 to 20, then you could do a full wheel for the low bargain basement price of

\$15504 per draw!

250,000/15504=16 tries before you go over break even so you better time pretty darn well!!!  Note: where it says data should say DATE!  Also note I did not try to adust skip for accuracy when there is a condition where no number scored.  Sorry dont have the logistics manpower, computing power or time for it.

I was spending more time changing letters to numbers into five or six number lines than selecting which numbers to play. Gail had a couple of her mathematical professor emeritus buddies create a clear plastic template that made the process easier. Robert Serotic had better wheels, but he used numbers instead of letters making it even more difficult.

Hey RJ, that's pretty nifty.

Thanks for sharing that. Think I might have to put those numbers to use.

RJOh,

I wonder how many 5 matches you'll get with this set in the NEXT 798 draws?

Have you had a chance to run the [29..56], [odds], and [evens] against your 798 lines of data?

Your "What happens most is most likely to happen again." is being quoted a lot in this thread.

What specifically did you mean by that?

Gail Howard Fans,

If you move to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the equator, it will be a safe bet that most days in the future you plan for will be warm, and more often than not, hot!  On the other hand, if you decide you'd like to make your lotto selections or curl up with your copy of Lottery Master Guide in Hammerfest, Norway, chances are you will need a good heating system year round.  But no matter how many low [or high or odd or even or patterned] lotto numbers you observe in a string of drawings, unlike the Congo or Arctic weather, don't count on it happening again in the next draw!

It's also easy for people to forget in those days many numbers games didn't have daily drawings let alone mid-day and evening drawings everyday.  Even some of the bigger games had smaller number pools and one drawing per week which gave players more time to use paper and pencil systems.  Many of the old systems are still around, computers made them faster and more complex.

The numbers entered into Howard's wheels were placed starting with most favored and the first third appeared more times in the combinations. It was more likely if the first third were drawn to get multiple wins or to get a four number match by only matching four numbers in a 4 if 6 wheel. It was much more difficult to compare different orders using pencil and paper and making comparing wheels with different guarantees difficult too.
