Motorcycle Accident Leads to Shooting

Off-Duty Chicago Cop Fatally Shoots Man In Maywood (Illinois)

http://www.policeone.com/Motorcycle-Patrol/articles/5909671-Off-duty-cop-shoots-kills-angry-dad-after-wipeout/

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2012/08/12/off-duty-chicago-cop-fatally-shoots-man-in-maywood/

A motorcycle accident involving a Chicago police officer ended with the off-duty cop shooting the father of the girl he had hit, when that man attacked him after the crash.

Authorities said Christopher Middleton, 26, brutally beat a 43-year-old off-duty Chicago cop, after the officer struck Middleton’s 4-year-old daughter with his motorcycle late Saturday night. [Up and out well past a proper bedtime, for a 4-year old. Roll Eyes]

Middleton was shot to death by an off-duty Chicago police officer, after the cop’s motorcycle hit Middleton’s 4-year-old daughter, who was crossing busy First Avenue.

Around 10:30 p.m., as the eight-year veteran officer was riding his motorcycle north on First Avenue, the girl was returning from a jerk chicken shop with her 18-year-old cousin when they were both struck by the officer’s motorcycle.

Police said the officer did all he could to avoid more serious injuries, but Middleton was furious that his daughter had been struck, and attacked the officer.

Middleton’s cousin, Cordell Haggard, said, “While he was on top of the guy, fighting him, the guy somehow managed to reach for his weapon, and he fired it, and shot him right in his groin.”

Middleton’s family insisted he never knew he was attacking an off-duty cop. [Because, if he were NOT a cop, then it would be perfectly fine to attack him. Dead]

“He never let anyone know that he was an officer until after he shot him,” Haggard said.

Illinois govt retirees about to get shafted on pensions

http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2012-08-13/news/ct-met-illinois-pension-reform-0813-20120813_1_pension-systems-pension-reform-pension-benefits

Pension reform talk sees state worker retirement surge
Uncertainty prompts big number of employees to get out of Illinois government

AS IF RUNNING FOR THE EXITS WILL SAVE YOU. SHMUCKS! Chair
"part of what's become a mad rush to get out of state government before Democrats and Republicans finally hash out their differences and cut a deal on pension reform. During the 12-month period ending June 30, nearly 4,750 rank-and-file state employees retired. That's almost as many as the prior two years combined."

YOU'RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHAT A GOVT PROMISE IS WORTH!! AHHH-HA-HA-HA-HA!!! Hit With Stick
"The strategy may or may not work. Lawmakers are talking about reining in benefits for those who've already retired, but any move that puts the financial fate of tens of thousands of public employees in the hands of Springfield's policymakers creates enough concern to drive the retirement surge."

Sentinel ruling may shaft MF Global clients

Do I have to spell out that this behavior is going to make its way to your pension and bank accounts, too?  Bash Thus: http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/222624/the-importance-of-saving-money

Sentinel ruling may hurt MF Global clients

A federal appeals court on Thursday (Aug 9, 2012) upheld a ruling that puts Bank of New York Mellon ahead of former customers of Sentinel in the line of those seeking the return of money lost in the 2007 failure of the suburban Chicago-based futures broker.

The appeals court affirmed an earlier district court ruling that the bank had a "secured position" on a $312 million loan it gave to Sentinel, which turned out to have been secured by customer money.

Futures brokers are required to keep customers' funds in dedicated accounts to protect them from being used for anything other than client business.

However, Thursday's ruling suggests that brokerages can use customer funds to pay off other creditors ...

His best loss, so far

It's counter-intuitive but, in the long run, Chicagoans are better off not having hosted the 2012 Summer Olympics than Londoners are for hosting it.

Wargaming: U.S. Army vs Tea Party

http://smallwarsjournal.com/jrnl/art/full-spectrum-operations-in-the-homeland-a-%E2%80%9Cvision%E2%80%9D-of-the-future

The Scenario (2016)

The Great Recession of the early twenty-first century lasts far longer than anyone anticipated.  After a change in control of the White House and Congress in 2012, the governing party cuts off all funding that had been dedicated to boosting the economy or toward relief.  The United States economy has flatlined, much like Japan’s in the 1990s, for the better part of a decade.  By 2016, the economy shows signs of reawakening, but the middle and lower-middle classes have yet to experience much in the way of job growth or pay raises.  Unemployment continues to hover perilously close to double digits, small businesses cannot meet bankers’ terms to borrow money, and taxes on the middle class remain relatively high.  A high-profile and vocal minority has directed the public’s fear and frustration at nonwhites and immigrants.  After almost ten years of race-baiting and immigrant-bashing by right-wing demagogues, nearly one in five Americans reports being vehemently opposed to immigration, legal or illegal, and even U.S.-born nonwhites have become occasional targets for mobs of angry whites.

In May 2016 an extremist militia motivated by the goals of the “tea party” movement takes over the government of Darlington, South Carolina, occupying City Hall, disbanding the city council, and placing the mayor under house arrest.  Activists remove the chief of police and either disarm local police and county sheriff departments or discourage them from interfering.  In truth, this is hardly necessary.  Many law enforcement officials already are sympathetic to the tea party’s agenda, know many of the people involved, and have made clear they will not challenge the takeover.  The militia members are organized and have a relatively well thought-out plan of action.

Usain Bolt wins Olympic 100m gold at London 2012

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/19137390

OLYMPIC 100m FINAL TIMES
       1 Usain Bolt (JAM) 9.63
       2 Yohan Blake (JAM) 9.75
       3 Justin Gatlin (USA) 9.79
       4 Tyson Gay (USA) 9.80
       5 Ryan Bailey (USA) 9.88

"I was slightly worried about my start," he [Bolt] told BBC Sport. "It was not the best reaction in the world, but I stopped worrying about it and executed it and it worked."

Asked to respond to the doubters, Bolt said: "I'm not concerned. I've said it from the start, people can talk, all they can do is talk. When it comes to the championships, it's all about business to me - and I brought it." <-- This is the difference between winners and whiners. Now, quit crying, get out there and win*.

* Obnoxious (but catchy) rap song warning. LOL

And then there was the idiot that threw a bottle at him ...

Playing the Doctor Lottery

The Impending Collapse of American Medicine

Dr. Robert S. Dobson looks back on a lifetime of medical practice and provides facts and insights that might help us to understand our situation. Article (There is a glossary at the bottom. Wink)

I got your "situation", right here. Canada's population is ~35 million, the US population is ~9 times that. A pile of crap idea scaled up by nine only means ... more flies. Dead

This is what's coming to the U.S.

Availability of services will decrease much faster than the cost of services. That's like a gas station posting cheap fuel prices, but having none at the pump.

While touting Canada's Universal Health Care System, the Ameri-Nanny Statists neglected to mention that "Universal" referred to how far you might have to travel to be seen by a doctor. Thud

Fear not, short attention spanners, the longest vid is 3 mins and there are plenty of scene jumps.

May everyone who clamored for this "reform" live long enough to need it. Red Devil
