Unless you have collected from the welfare system, owe taxes or child support, they'll cut you a check for $5000. You'll then have to pay your own taxes the following year. Keep all your losing tkts for that year because you can file against them. Anything over $5000 you will be taxed on the spot

For 50c straight $2,500 win you will not have taxes withheld at the time of check collection but you will receive a 1099 statement of income that will have to be included in your tax determination. You will have NYS and Federal taxes due on April 15.

I've hit it straight three times so far 9545 6328 and 1974 . I know about the taxes . I'm retired so any parking tickets etc extra Schlitz doesn't effect me just the taxes but my dear aunt will now be a winner from now on . Her earnings are tax free because of her age etc

And not just taxes taken out based on the win ... God forbid if you owe on any back taxes, parking tix, etc. etc. I've been at that Beaver St. claim ctr and its not a pretty site seeing grown people crying at the window ...

How Much Taxes Do They Take Out In Va
Va will take out taxes If you want them to, that is If you go to one of their regional offices. You can just pay the taxes at the end of the year.

New York P4 9/1/10 - 9/30/10
It says you are in the state so I would suggest not playing those 4 way #'s straight. You will pay taxes on them. A $1 straight would give you $5000 which you'd pay taxes on. Since it is only one #, play it 50 box 8 times which would be $4800 tax free or 10 times for $6000. Never play 4 way #'s straight when you could box them multiple times tax free! Good luck!

New York, NAILING THE PICK 4 !!
You can bet anywhere from .50-$10.00 on a set of numbers. There's a lot of times I'll bet $1.50 on a set like 1440, that'll pay $600.00, no taxes. It all depends on how much you want to win on one ticket, and if you want to pay taxes.--I recommend buying multiple tickets on the same set of numbers, if you think it'll hit.

MA screwing pick 4 players
It's not really double taxed, it's taxed at the regular rate. You get a tax credit for whatever's withheld when you get your w-2g. You do wind up paying taxes twice if your win is less than $5k: 5% state tax when you get your check, and then federal tax when you file your taxes later.
