tiggs needs to get out more and go to the movies..First tiggs has heard of Klaatu..Genuis alien? would that be pumpi?..

      tiggs,

The legend had it that anyone on this planet who has never heard of Klaatu is an alien from a planet other than Klaatu's!

      Scared

      Klaatu barado nikto!

Those who run the lotteries love it when players look for consistency in something that's designed not to have any.

      Lep

There is one and only one 'proven' system, and that is to book the action. No matter the game, let the players pick their own losers.

Pamelab's thread in Systems, Computer verse Paper caused some rousing discussions.

Someone mentioned that they weren't sure which came first, Keno or the abacus, and that Keno helped finance the great Wall of China. The original tickets had 80 Chineses alphabet characters, not numbers,  and many people simply played their names.

But the discussion was that Keno and such games existed before slide rules, calculators, and computers and noe of those has been able to beat Keno or the lottery.

              Just something to think about.

Gee, how'd you know, sully? The TV show Oddities was here filming recently, doing a segment on a couple of residents who have papered the walls of the rooms with losing tickets and scratchers.

One of the paper eaters didn't realize whar was going on, came into one of those rooms to get some tickdets to eat, and was caught on camera!

Since sully visited her friend the origami animals made of losing tockets are all over the place now.

A couple of the residents are working on "Systems of Desperation" using weather forecasts, sports scores and such.

Another resident insists he has 'the' winning system, has broken the code, but it will only work on the Utah or Nevada lottery.

There's been some more rousing discussions here at the Institute lately.

Rumors continue that rdgrnr is hiding out here, and now jrosins, too. There's also a rumor that they are running around disguised as each other to throw the dogs off the scent, so to speak.

We've had a couple of speakers show up trying to convince everyone they've 'broken the code' but as they spoke a mysterious voice from somewhere wss heard to keep saying, "Hello, ping pong balls being blown around in a drum do not show any consistency. If they ever did, new balls, new drum."

A couple of our residents are working on an old slide rule converted to a 6/52 game, that might prove interesting.

Another resident was searching the history lottery systems on the internet and found a picture of a skeleton with its hands on an abacus and the abacus was sittiing on some very old playslips.

We've had some interesting things happen here at the Institute lately.

Some guys from the phone company put a phone booth in the lobby. Yup, not just a pay phone but a phone booth. Well, it looked like a phone booth but the booth contained an ATM and an awful lot of playslips, and a phone.

One of the residents thought they stumbled on to a sure fire way to beat one of the games but no one could convince them it is impossible to fill out that many playslips between drawings. They dsaid they thought the could do it, but asked if anybody had 19th Nervous Breakdown by the Rolling Stones on a continuous-loop tape.
