Out of my 2 MM, one MM got the MEGA (7) and one matching no(51). Guess what I got $1 :-(
You are supposed to get $2 for that, but all of the pari-mutuel prizes were below standard amounts. One guy got 5/5 and got more than the standard amount.

There's too much variability with pari-mutuel. Sometimes you get really whacky payouts. I see why and the potential upside, but I prefer fixed payouts like other states. One time I saw a Daily 4 box payout that you usually see with Daily 3 games.
If someone matches 5/5 on Friday in MM, they'll get ~$250,000. It usually takes 3-4 rolls at near reset jackpot values before it hits $1 million that everyone else gets as a default. BUT, on the flip side, you can get more, like in this case and when someone in SoCal won ~$3.3 million in Powerball by matching 5/5 last year.
Edit: Oh, by the way, PB 5/5 prize pool for tonight is going to be over $2 million...

CA Lottery's pari-mutuel system ensures a guranteed revenue stream, not too long ago posted on the front page of LP, some guy in Iowa bet his birthday year 1-9-4-3 straight 40 times and won over $200k! I think the state's lottery lost money for that one day despite their payout being 60% (50% in most states). CA Lottery had a draw of 1-9-4-2 and it only paid $2200 for a straight wager way less than the $5000.
I have been playing 20 random Daily 3 straight/boxes for 10 different draws in the past weeks. Lost each time.
Despite the 2nd Chance contest being over for SuperLotto Plus, I will go for that tonight and buy all 27 mega numbers. Powerball's jackpot amount does not warrant paying despite the high 2nd prize amount.

I think you would have to go to liquor stores or smoke shops for those, they are usually big on scratchers and carry every available game. I have speculated that CA Black Exclusive took over its spot as it has same payouts and easier to market than Diamond Millionaire.

The new Lucky For Life scratchers are coming out. It was on this months newsletter... Looks the same: $1, $2, $5 and $10 with just a new look. I'm sure it will have the same pay-out/odds structure as the current LFL games. I wish they threw in a $20 LFL, that would be interesting.

I don't like the buying books method at all. The ROI for the most part is always never going to matchup. You can get lucky but most books are designed as losers. It's just the luck of the draw. I run hot and cold. I may go 2-3 days and do no better than a Ticket and then all of the sudden, I win multiples.
I am currently in a cold streak. Probably operating at a 50% ROI for the past week. It's just the way it goes sometimes.
I am ready for a new $10 game to replace LFL. That one is just getting stale. It's been around too long. Plus with only 2 prizes left, the odds just seem so remote. Then again, they are always remote unless you are the one who gets the magical card. That's what makes the games fun in my opinion. You just never know.
The little lucky leprachaun Asian guy at my liquor store hasn't given me a good feel on a ticket in awhile. When he does, I buy and his hit ratio is suprisingly high. He speaks barely any English that is understandable but I know when he says "Buy this one over that one."
1 out of 21 or more odds of a profitable book (where one prize is at least $500+) for a $10 scratcher is not tempting. Your approach has delivered results.
Speaking of LFL, the March monthly newsletter came in and the Lucky for Life scratchers are being refreshed with new ones soon.
You are fortunate to have someone who does the ticket hawking to your benefit.

I'd venture to guess to say that May (or last week of April) would be the release for those games, given what's coming out next week. On an unrelated note, there was talk of a $20 scratcher book being released. Called "The California Game Book," it would be seven pages of different games with Bingo, Crossword and matching number games comprising the pages. I'm sure the Lottery will put a pin in that for now, but that would be interesting down the road.

It would sound interesting as well. However if it has a payout rate of those as a $3 game to make up 7 pages of the book I would not go for it.
I wonder when the rewards system will come out, its been speculated for a long time now. Some other states have it running.

You would think that at a higher denomination, the payout rates would be better, but you're probably right in the most of the prizes would be lower-tier and similar to a $3 ticket, like the variations of the Crossword. However, any scratchers, in my opinion, lose their luster about a week or so after they've been released, regardless of denomination. It's nice to grab some of those prizes while you can and I can't wait to buy a few of those tickets coming out next week. But they eventually get boring and it's back to Hot Spot and the Daily 3 for yours truly.
And the Lucky for Life tix suck the big one. The version coming out in May will be the exact same game as the current one, but with flashy new colors!

I think the new Lucky Life series will be released in June. The next end of game batch is slated for a 2nd chance submission deadline of August, with corresponding end of game in June. With the exception of the $10 LFL, there are still enough TP's left for a few more months. They did a $1 and $2 LFL re-order not too long ago.

Daily 3 is a more winnable game for sure, but comes at about 50% payback rate
5 Straight/Box combinations with unique numbers (6 combinations for each set of 3 numbers)
1 in 200 to win Straight (~$230 to about ~$290)
1 in 40 to win Box (~$35 to $45)
Was wondering about the wager you put down on HotSpot in terms of 1-10 spots, BullsEye?, number of consecutive plays, quick pick?
I heard 7-Spot is the most popular since the odds of winning any prize is 1 in 4.
I see someone put 50 plays + Bullseye to get one printed ticket, and then the next time he comes back, he just scans the ticket from the scanner.

Usually 3 and 4-spot. I'll play ten draws for both 3 and 4 with Bulls Eye for $2 a play ($40 total) every Friday and usually use the same set of numbers (3-14-57 and 08-58-66-68). Last week was a $38 return for the 4-spot (3 out of 4 with BE for one draw) and four separate $2 wins for the 3-spot. Still, I bet any lottery player would be somewhat happy with a $46 return on a $40 wager. If you remember the old, wildly-varying pari-mutuel days, 2/2 for one draw once paid $76, 3/3 with BE paid $395 and 4/4 awarded $9. I like the prize structure now and if I hit $50 or $100, I'm happy. Not expecting to win millions anywhere, but decent hits, obviously, are always welcome.
