I wish they would stop raising the jackpots and give more lower prizes. Heck we know at least one jackpot in each game will likely never be claimed. I wish they would have a $20 with a 2 mil payout with great odds of 400 and 500

    Nicely said.

Heck, I wouldn't mind if there were a $20 ticket with a $500k-$1 million jackpot if the odds of hitting $500 were even better.

I'm assuming the new $20 Gold Rush ticket offering a $5m top jackpot will likely mean the odds of hitting $500 will be worse. Hopefully not as bad as the crappy $20 Flamingo ticket. Does anyone still buy that despite the Multiplier second chance drawing ending?

      Very much agreed.

The other problem is the number of prizes.

      Here's the $5M Flamingo Multiplier.

      $5,000,000.00*1-in-3800000.0
      $1,000,000.00*1-in-1140000.0
      $100,000.001-in-1140000.0
      $20,000.001-in-60000.0
      $5,000.001-in-30000.0
      $1,000.001-in-2068.97
      $500.001-in-1935.48
      $400.001-in-1923.08
      $200.001-in-666.67
      $150.001-in-571.43
      $100.001-in-32.43
      $50.001-in-30.0
      $40.001-in-30.0
      $30.001-in-30.0
      $25.001-in-30.0
      $20.00

      1-in-6.0

Here's what I'd like to see:

      $2,000,000.00*1-in-1000000
      $10,000.001-in-30000
      $500.001-in-99
      $100.001-in-40
      $60.001-in-30
      $20.001-in-6.0

I took a wild guess at updating the odds (too lazy to do the math), but it'd be much nicer to look at a ticket like that than something that has a ton of strewn about prizes. You'll note also that I changed the $50 to $60. Prize levels that aren't multipliers of the cost of the ticket annoy the crap out of me.

I'd LOVE to see a $20 ticket with odds like those.

That would be a much more reasonable gamble for a $500 prize, and probably encourage people to play the lottery. The elusive jackpot would still be an enticing number to keep people playing.

I think having the only "common" claim ticket being $10k would also be very nice.

I know other states have tried this, but I'd like to see a $10 or $20 game where the top prize is $100K or $250K but the odds are fantastic such as 1 in 20,000.  The only lower tier prizes are the breakeven prizes and the larger prizes are just the $100 and $500 prizes with manageable odds as well.

I am not a big fan of the new $10 and $20 tickets having $2M and $5M prizes that are just more impossible to win.  That's why I dont play the Powerball.  A $40M+ top prize really doesnt mean a whole lot if you are never going to win it.

On a side note, nice win Kfla.

Bought 2 of the $10 Holiday Gifts ticket at a food store last night. Found a $40 winner.

Earlier today, bought 4 more. Found $35 back (decent). Got 4 more, and a $15 winner. Got 1 more, and nada. Not bad considering $20 allowed me to play through about 7 of these tickets. I think I'm going to probably come back to the same store on Friday, and finish off that roll with it hopefully being on 30+ then.

Anyone having any luck lately, or are we all cutting back? Wink I've taken a week break before yesterday, and will probably wait until payday before buying any tickets.

I took a couple weeks off then this afternoon went to Haines City to meet family for lunch. After lunch I dropped into the Haines City Publix near the interstate and purchased 4 x $25 Misfortune and 4 x $25 Florida Cash, thinking maybe some winners way out in Polk County.  Man I was wrong.  All 8 scratchers were losers.  -$200 loss.  I spent 6 hours in the Tampa casino last week and left with a $60 loss.  I would have left up $125 is I had not jumped on a Quick Hits slot machine before I left.  I did well until that machine.  In the end, better odds hitting the casino than playing the Florida fraud lottery.

Wow, that's extremely rough. I've never been to a casino, but I hear the payout percentages are much better. Lotto players are hopeful for big hits, but will inevitably donate money toward college scholarships in the long run playing the game.

Have you double checked those tickets? I would expect at least 1-2 winners out of 8 $25 tickets, at least with a $25 winner somewhere.  Then again, I've seen 8 back to back losers on the Misfortune ticket and Florida Ass...I mean Cash.

went back to the 'lil mom/pop store where I got the $500 the other day - they only had two tickets left on that roll - I didn't want them -  they said they had one roll left over from a couple months ago so I took a chance and bought it - that may be the last of the $200MS tickets around here - I couldn't find them anywhere else and the lottery people said they couldn't locate any in my county -

WELL ! what a nice surprise to find the one pictured below - got a total of $1,425 back !!

Here it is - a small outdated mom/pop store off the main road and they had these winners !!

                              wins: $10,000 Jubilee - $5,000 $200MS - 31 $1k's - 185 $500's - 5 $400's
