I'm beginning to wonder if we should boycott Mega Millions.  They promised huge jackpots with the new matrix, but the jackpots have been anaything but huge.  It can never seem to get above $200 million.  A new, HARD matrix needs to be put in place because it's way too easy for some to win still.  Odds need to be at least 1 in 500 trillion.

Also, the game is rigged to let California win most of the time.  California needs to be kicked out of all MUSL games, or have their winnings taxed at a 95% rate.  California can just have their own state lottery & all 38 million residents can win & split the change with each other.

I'll play Powerball only from now on.

Argue As a Californian I take umbrage at your call for a boycott and expelling California from MUSL.  It is the Luck of  the draw. Please come and visit California and see all the people that call it home. Coffee

We have more important things to discuss like Earthquakes near NAPA, CA.

Who can we complain to officially?  I also agree california and new york have an unfair advantage for some reason.

California, has an unfair advantage over most other states,  so does new york, and florida too.  Maybe those states can have there own multi state lottery, and let other states win, pb and mm.

I think the mega millions game needs to change within, so there are more winners per year.  50 million dollars jackpot should be enough, and you would end up with about 17 million dollars.  Wouldn't that be enough for you?  I say stop pushing for these high jackpots, and yes, you would get more people to play, and you would still have 1 or 2 jackpot winners vs. more winners.

Yeah, don't make it harder (change the odds again).

            Thud

I would have thought by now we would have seen a record busting MM JP with these crazy odds.

I think one the biggest failures with MM is the continued glacial speed of JP growth when the game resets to 15M.

15M is still too low for a game touted as MEGA MILLIONS with odds like this- period.  It takes nearly a month for the JP to even catch up with PB's starting point.

PB's 40M starting point continues to beat the pants off of MM even with the $2 price point and still has better odds.

12% of US population live in california, most of the winners will statistically also be from california. If you move to california the chance of winning the lottery will still be the same. If you was the only person living in a state it would still be the same. How hard can this be to understand?

Then california needs to have its own multi million dollar lottery,  otherwise it is still unfair!  What about having a population advantage over most other states do you not understand?

Well then, you just lost that bet...

You do realize if you kick out most of the states with larger populations, then the JP will decrease significantly?

That's the cost of playing... otherwise stick to the state lotto jackpots etc.

I say you don't understand. You play against all other players in US, the odds of winning are the same regardless of which state you live in. It will happen more often that the player who wins live in California, but it dont change your odds of winning. MM is played in almost all of us states, imagine that there was only one state in US, would it change your odds of winning? No.

Edit: also lets say California leaves MM, then statistics say that the second biggest states would have more winners, lets kick that state out also and so on. Well you dont have states that are equal in population, deal with the odds or dont play at all...

It hasn't affected Powerball JP sales... Pennsylvania leads the pack in JP winners there and its the 6th most populous state in the union.

Even #20 pop. Wisconsin is beating #1 pop. California in PB winners...

Maybe we should boycott both games LOL
