Here is something I found interesting.

Chart taken from the MO lotto web site.

There are 4320 lines with one pair of digits in a pick-4 game.   These 4320 can be reduced to 360 for a box hit.  According

to the payouts above a 12-way hit pays $500 or $140 profit using this method regardless of which digits showed as long

as a one pair hits.

Counting the last 1190 evening draws there has been 539 12-way draws.  In the last 18 games 10 have been 12-way.  If

a person had played 12-way for the last 18 games then they would have spent $6,480 and won $5,000.  This has a ROI of

.77 which seems high to me just playing 12-ways.  The overall 12-way hits equal 539/1190=45% for a ROI of .62.  It seems

that these games run the risk of going into the red.

Anyway, I just thought this was interesting.

I will consider the opinion that my winnings are a product of chance if you are willing to consider

they are not.  Many great discoveries come while searching for something else

Isn't it single digits such as 1234 instead of pairs like 1123 or 2234 etc.?

          That is what's confusing me.

          1234 I call Single

          1124 Double

          1114 Triple

          1111 Quad

I come up with 24 combos.

if you think a double zero will come there is 36 combos to cover the for box hit same with any other double number.

Non-pair would be either of the two digits that don't form the double pair.  E.g. 1123 -- 2 or 3 would be the non-pair digits.

                    Bob

I am as green as a gourd when it comes to daily game lingo,  For pick-4 here in MO this is how I see it.

                      4-way has 3 same digits      1-2-2-2  triple

                      6-way has 2 pairs                1-1-2-2  double pair

12-way has 2 same digits      1-2-0-0  single pair

24-way has 4 different digits 1-2-3-4  all singles

The 36 is wrong, it should be 72.  I just estimated the 36 based in 360/10=36 but there are 2 positions

that can be a non-pair single digit so we have to multiply the 36*2=72.
