Further Clarification: Any ticket you have to submit a claim for, you WILL PAY TAXES on; either at the time you collect (depending on whether you supply a social security number or you request withholding) or when you file your taxes. This means that you will receive a 1099G from the state indicating the amount you have won. Any winnings that you collec from your lotto agent, you will not receive a 1099G regarding your winnings. There is no way around this...

Lottery or Casino (which pays better)
Before you make these polls you ought to do some research first. You are not going to get rich playing pick 3/4/games unless you buy the maximum amount of tickets for that 3 or 4 digit number and it hits otherwise you loose money not gain. Pick 5/6 games vary by state and again you have to win to make any money and these games usually don't pay enough after taxes to become rich. Unless that pick six game is mega or powerball and the jackpot is more than 10 million. Casino games vary in the payou

Thanks for all the push back you are giving them! I am not seeing alot of tickets with the promo, 1 maybe 2 everytime I play, at the most. When you think about it, I am sure someone at MDlottery got a bonus for coming up with this idea. Anything MDlottery can do to increase tax income for the state. I am really surprised we have not seen a flood of double/double triples in the pick 4 which both would trigger taxes if the promo was applied.

Any SINGLE ticket up to $5K. What you do is if you have let's say 20 straight P4's you don't cash them all at once because the agent+ bank account might get hurt, you simply cash 1 or 2 a day from different agent+'s and voila you have a fat bank account and you'll collect your 1009G's and do your taxes when the time comes....it is what I do when get multiples.

That makes sense. I don't do the sum it up or the one off mess so I didn't realize the wins were combined. I guess when Fireball starts up people will have to play smart with .50 cents unless they live close to one of the offices and don't mind paying taxes. lol

They've postponed taxes, they've postponed evictions, I'm sure they can postpone cashing a ticket. I used to hear those winning tickets are good for a year anyways. This will be over by then.

Why is it hard to win Pick 4 straight once per month
You would lose money there too. $1 combo is $24. You'll win $5000, then you'll pay taxes and lose about 1/3 of your winnings. Now if you play 24 $1 boxes you'll win $4800. But you can keep all of it.
