I Tell you this, just leave the person who won alone and let them have their joy,Noone questioned me like this when i won on the 999 and i didnot see a clause at LP or a lotto police that states you have to let people know by way of taking a picture of your ticket,That's insane you either believe it or not but everyone has the right to Tell people or not tell people the way he or she sees fit,Now i want to pose this question, how do we actually know who is telling the truth ?i don't care if you are a regular or a newbie i mean even a regular could be the next liar,This brings up something a member quoted,i believe it goes like this a "Lie is a lie no matter who tells it"

So you see folks noone is right or wrong because all of our mouses are created equal but roadrunner is faster,,,Delores247

Well, the people who are calling the OP a liar(e.g. rubblehead), can't really say he is because they don't know if the OP ACTUALLY did win. However, the people that are not fully convinced are still fully within their right. There's nothing wrong with someone not believing someone who just joined and say "I won a million dollars" out of the blue. Which is why I've decided to not believe nor disbelieve what the OP has posted. He might have won, he might have not. This is the internet, I'm not about to believe every message that pops up on my screen.

Gonna win.Big Smile

Trust me, I have 3 kids and way too many things to do other than posting and responding to emails about this if it weren't true! I've been visiting this site for a few years checking LOSING lottery tickets and never had the urge to post anything. When I realized we had the winning ticket, I felt the need to spread that news to the people here and give everyone some hope.

I'm not a stupid person and realize there a lot of cynical people in the world but it's too bad.

I won't be posting the winning ticket until I go to the lottery agency.

For those of you who believe........Thank you!!!

I've personally never seen any reason to doubt your story.  Everyone's always asking the question "has any LP member ever won?" and the answer is yes, absolutely.  Several people, like you, have posted their story, some have not.

It's funny when people who ask the question immediately doubt anyone who comes forward.  Thankfully, though, most people don't do that.

Just forget about the rantings of "rubblehead", which is a very appropriate name that he chose for himself.  The vast majority of the members and guests here are not only happy for you, but are grateful that you shared your story with us.

Enjoy the big safety net! Thumbs Up

To answer RJOh, I agree & don't think a store owner or manager cares, but I was only saying what I feel is right.

I was skeptical at first, but now that I see he is coming back to the site over and over again makes me think it's true.

Most of the time when people make claims like that, they disappear in to the wild blue yonder never to be heard from again.

I agree Delores. When this post 1st started I congratulated the poster because all I saw was that he/she had won. Then I started reading into what was said and then had doubts. It was possible to win with what was said to have happened, just hard for me to believe. I'm not going to say the person didn't win because I don't know and to be honest I really don't care. Congratulations to him/her if he/she did win. If I was him/her I wouldn't worry about what everyone on here says because you know what you have and that is all that matters.

For those of you who play the lottery and sometimes think "I'll never win", keep playing!!!!

I was one of those people until today. Here's my story:

My dad came over my house on Tuesday and I had just bought an umbrella for my pool, but it needed to be weighted down, so my father was going to go to Home Depot, I asked if he had gotten a $1,000,000  Independance day NJ lottery ticket yet and he said "no". I told him to pick one up for us and didn't think twice about it until he called me to check the number. We are now $1,000,000 richer (less Uncle Sams 25 percent cut). Luckily there's NO state tax on lottery winnings in NJ, so we gte to keep more of it.

The moral of the story is "Somebody always wins and it can be you!!!!

For those of you who might not believe this post, you can check the winner in a few days. The winning ticket bought in Howell NJ will have a last name that starts with the letters MO-----

You must be in Mountain time zone, because here in TN/KY sales for it(Powerball) and other multi-state games end at 9 pm.

Nope  -  I'm in the CST also.

All I know is what the few retailers I visit tell me - that it shuts down on them between 8 and 8:20 pm, CST.

Now, if that's true across the nation, I don't know, but that's what about a dozen places have told me when I ask them when they shut it down.

"Why would printing the tickets in numerical order make it any different? If the winning number is drawn randomly, then for all practical purposes the number that gets printed on any given ticket is random."

KY Floyd, I agree with you that the numbers are random, but that's not what I meant.  I was referring to games where there are a limited amount of tickets sold.  For example, the FL Raffle had 1,500,000 tickets sold for July 4 and at 8:44 on Sunday they were sold out. After that, nobody else could buy a ticket.  So someone walks into a convenience store at 8:50 and is told "sorry, you can't buy a ticket."  If a store owner printed 100 extra tickets in Miami because he felt he could sell them to customers, he might be preventing someone from playing in Tampa.  To me, that's not the same as printing 100 extra Lotto quick picks, because players can still walk into any Lottery retailer until 15 minutes before the drawing and play their personal numbers and/or buy quick picks.  There also isn't any guarantee of a winner as there is in the Raffle.

In that case it's obviously different, in that other games will always have tickets for sale until they close sales to hold the drawing. For games where there are a limited number of tickets (and that means every offline game as well as a few of the online games), it's a simple matter of first come first served.  What difference does it make if a store sells 1000 tickets while they're still available, or prints some extras and sells 900  while tickets are still available online and 100 after the tickets have all been printed?  Is it fair to buy more than 1 ticket if sales are limited? That also might prevent somebody else from playing the game. Either you buy while they're available or you don't, and anyone who waits too long has only one person to blame.

No point in arguing about this.  I guess I am foolish to think there are "ethics" in gambling.  Of course a person purchasing 10 tickets has a greater chance of winning than someone who buys only one.  I was only saying that I don't believe in special treatment, and a store owner who prints extra tickets for his regular customers is giving them an advantage.  My original comment about this matter was in response to a post stating that this was the case.  Yes, it's true that nobody should wait until there are 100 tickets left when a raffle has 500,000.  However, take hundreds of retailers or even 20 who print extra tickets for their "regulars" and the actual sales posted every day aren't accurate.

I think a ticket should only be printed when it's paid for by the customer.  I am not debating this issue, only stating what I believe to be fair and random.  Nobody would go into a casino and try to play a hand without a bet.  The dealers don't "save" cards for players.  You can't throw dice without placing a bet first. The slots don't work until you put money into them.  So, since I look at the lottery as a form of gambling, I don't see why these rules don't apply.

Maybe that's another issue altogether and why so many people might disagree with me.  What I mean is that people aren't supposed to look at buying lottery tickets as gambling.  Yes, it's gambling with very bad odds, but still gambling nonetheless.
