....and three numbers in sequence besides.  I didn't have time to pick my own numbers on Thurs, and when I saw what came out, I was glad I didn't buy any extra tickets with my own picks because I would have NEVER picked all those 30 numbers.  To add insult to injury, that pesky number 2 came out again with all  those 30's!!!!

Lottery games are about luck and chance.Play whatever you can afford. $1,000,000 DOLLARS FOR $1 IS NOT A BAD DEAL. But in any lottery there is one fact ,buying more tickets increase your chances of having a possible winner.  I don't play every sweet million drawing but i play $5 QUICK PICK whenever i decide to play. A GENTLEMAN name CHRIS SHAW was not an everyday lottery player, but he won the following powerball jackpot with $5 QUICK PICK. THE SAME HAPPENED TO THE FIRST SWEET MILLION WINNER.HE WON WITH $5 QUICK PICK.

I have a new cause, when I see someone in the store buying a Powerball ticket, I tell them if they don't spend the extra dollar on the Power Play, they are screwing themselves out of one million dollars if five numbers come out.  One Powerball buying customer I told this to didn't really understand what I meant at first, but he told the clerk to give him the PB ticket just like I said, with the Power Play, but I didn't expect him to do what a stranger (me) was telling him, but he did, smart man (lol).

I practically cut out buying Mega Millions because NY doesn't have the multiplier, and if I do, I only buy one ticket, I would rather spend my money on 5 PB tickets with the Power Play.

Yes, just as I said before, because of the deep-rooted habit of buying Mega Million without Megaplier in New York, and a relative lack of promotion of Powerplay (I think there should be a buy 5 Powerplay get 2 free given the low sales ratio of Powerplay relative to the total Powerball ticket sales), people are just not aware of the existence of Powerplay, and if they really match 5+0, they may regret they lose $800,000 for just a cost of $1.

According to wikipedia page on Mega Millions, it is required for all Mega Millions states to offer Megaplier option by Jan 2011. That means New Yorkers may be able to purchase Mega Millions with Megaplier starting next year.

Anyway, I won't play either and focus instead on 5 balls drawing and Sweet Million because it is too hard to win anything at all in PB and MM. The odds just sucks for big games.

For tonite, I have the following numbers:

        8 13 18 24 27 31

        2 16 17 22 29 34

        7 16 23 30 33 37

All player picks... I balanced odd/even, hi/low on the first two lines. I decided to go against the grain with my odd/even hi/low numbers on the third.

This time skews toward small numbers:

          7 8 11 17 18 23

5 small and 1 large. There are three 10s too.

No big winner last night with all birthday numbers, I'm surprised, I thought for sure there would be a winner. My QP had 18, 19, and 23, instead of 17, 18, and 23, and nothing else.  The store where I purchased my ticket had a 3 million dollar "Fat Wallet" scratch off winner, the signs were all over the store,  it's the first time I've purchased my SM tickets there, maybe I should have bought a scratch off instead of SM (lol).

Someone won a million dollars on a scratch off in a little convenience store only steps away from my aunt's house in Hastings-on-Hudson, the winner said he goes to different stores to purchase tickets and he finally won a million, it was all over the local news a few days ago.  I estimate I have spent about $800 so far this year on tickets, and I've only won about $120 in return, most of the winnings came from two $40 wins on Sweet Million.  I've decided to play Sweet Million on alternate days so I have more tickets in one drawing, so instead of playing the $5 quick pick tonight. I'm going to play $10 on Thursday, at all different stores. On second thought, I better play tonight and skip Thursday because I won't have my choice of stores open since Thurs. is Thanksgiving, speaking of the holiday, Happy Thanksgiving to all the posters here!

How about those NY JETS, winning again after the 2 minute warning and staying in first place with New England.  The NY JETS offered to host a Thanksgiving Day night game at home against the Cincinnatti Bengals at 8:00 p.m., so LETS GO JETS!!!!!!,  bring home another win for New York on Thanksgiving night!!!!!!!!

Sorry, I dont.   I only play Take5 and Sweet Millions.  Of those two, I play Take5 more often because I track and study the numbers from previous drawings.

I dont track SM's numbers, but I'm going to start to play it on a little more frequent basis, and I've decided to play partial-QP's.  Yesterday, I didnt use a playslip, and I bought a SM QP. I got 06 09 33 34 35 38.  Almost four numbers in sequence!  It seems to me that I get many QP's like that.  So what I plan to do in the future is mark 3 numbers of my choosing on the playslip, and let the machine pick the other three. Of course I can still get three numbers in sequence, but when I've played partial-QP's in the past, that has yet to happen to me.

I'm thinking I might only play on Monday's and either double the amount I play for the drawing, or I might mark the playslip to play the numbers for 2 drawings.

                      Jacal,

You've mentioned in previous posts that you like to buy your tickets at different stores.  I've read posts by others that say they basically do the same thing.  (They might not buy a one dollar ticket at 10 different stores on the same day like you do, but say they like to buy at different stores whenever they buy their tickets.) I'm curious as to why you do that.  Where I live, that could end up being a lot of running around!

I too like to buy my tickets at various stores, although I usually buy however many tickets I plan to buy at only one store on any given day.  As much as I like to spread my money around, I've probably bought at one particular store more than others, simply because it's close to my house.

A few times a three number sequence has come out in SM, but since the odds are against it because three sequenced numbers come out so infrequently, I don't like to see them on my QP either.

Are you buying the QP's with the sequenced numbers at the store near your house most of the time?  If so, maybe that's a reason why you should try different stores more often.  I go to different stores because I figure if the first store I pick wasn't the right one to bring me a winner, maybe the second store will be lucky, maybe the third store will be lucky, and so on....   I do the same thing with the cities and towns, if the first store I pick is in Yonkers and maybe I picked the wrong city to get lucky, then I'll buy my second ticket in the Bronx,  and the third ticket in White Plains, and the fourth ticket in Scarsdale, etc...  I know I get carried away with this, but it has become one of my hobbies, and even though I haven't won a big jackpot yet, it's still a lot of fun!  I think I am having more fun trying to win than actually winning a big jackpot and getting the money.  One lottery clerk said to me that I shouldn't be playing the lottery because I'm retired and I don't have to work anyway (lol).

Another reason I go to different stores is that I think the same store might give me the same numbers on tickets, even though I ask for separate tickets.  This happened to my Mom on Saturday, she purchased two PB lines on separate tickets in the same store and she got the same PB number (last number) on them and it didn't come out, so right away she was a loser on two tickets.  This could happen even if you purchase tickets at different stores, but I think the odds would be against it.

Mom stopped playing Take 5 for awhile, but decided to play again and she won $18, when she checked her ticket on the scanner a few days ago, she was so surprised she won anything, she does better than me when it comes to purchasing winning tickets, maybe I should let her buy my tickets (lol),  she buys them all over the place, like I do.

It turns out that the guy who won the Extravanga scratch-off for a million in the store near my aunt's house changed his pattern, he usually bought lottery draw tickets, but this time he decided to buy a scratch-off and it paid off for him.  I have played my SM and PB in that store a few times in the past, but didn't get the lucky vibes from that store so I didn't continute to go there, but I think I had those feelings because my aunt and my friend buy QP tickets there all the time, but never won anything, but intellectually I know that doesn't matter, any store can produce a winning QP or scratch-off, a player just has to get lucky.

Does anyone know if the New York Lottery posts on-line which prizes are left on the scratch-off games, like New Jersey does?   I read that most of the winners look up that info on-line, and if a scatch-off doesn't have many top prizes left, the players don't buy the tickets.  I know if a scratch-off has no top prize left, the rolls should be taken out of the store, but I don't know if the all the stores follow that policy, so if I do buy an occasional scratch-off, I only buy the scratch-offs which are newly released by the NY lottery.

                          Thx.

I am going to New York City from Raleigh, North Carolina this Thanksgiving, and I plan to spend on average $50 on different drawing games there.

I'm pretty sure NY doesnt post online what prizes remain for which scratch-off's.

In the past, I've sent them an e-mail asking for that info, and they e-mailed a list back to me.  That was quite some time ago and that could have changed.

I've read that many players only buy a scratch-off immediately after it goes on sale because they know that the top prize(s) has to be available.
