I've bought two of the new $20 Ultimate Riches scratchers and both have been $20 winners. So $40 spent and $40 returned.

It plays like the first $20 game ever, ton of break even prizes.

Thanks for sharing the results, good that you got something from it, it was 1 in 11 rolls on average that you will get something $500/$1000 or greater to make the ticket roll profitable.

1 in 11 packs?  So that's about $6,600 with the hopes of getting one pack for a good ROI.  Yikes...  Those are basically the worst odds I have heard.  That makes Vegas look like a great play compared to those odds.

I have bought 3 tickets so far and won $100 on the quick spot.  Scaled way back because the games are boring and uneventful right now.

Scratchers and lottery games in general are not a good bet. There is the opportunity to win a life altering/enchancing jackpot, but its structured to provide a very reliable income to the state's education funds.

Vegas casino games put you through bankroll swings as your money disappears over time as you play, there is the entertainment factor there. For the most part it does not offer a life-changing jackpot except for those progressive slot machines or the dollar side bets you see on table games.

I will never argue that it is better to be lucky than good.

I've sold quite a few rolls of all the games, including the  $20 games and my general advice is this.  I generally see at least a 50% return.  If you get lucky and get a $500+ winner in a pack, then of course you'll win more than you  invested.  But you can expect to win at least half of your money back.

This past Friday, a customer purchased a roll of the new $20.  She came back 3 hours later with $340 in winners.  Gave me another $60 and bought 20 more tickets from another backup roll that I have.  Not sure what she got with the extra 20 tickets.  I'll find out Monday since she usually comes by everyday.

                Good luck everyone.

I've read somewhere on this forum is that there is a minimum of 30%-40% return for each roll. So you can think of it as buying a roll for half the price with the minimum requirement.

Sad thing is the lottery does not reward such players who play in bulk. Let us know what happened to her. I've normally have not heard good results from roll buying. I've tried it myself and the results were poor too.

She came by the past couple of days and bought more packs.  So here is the breakdown from what she's told me.  This is news to me since this is the first time I've had the same player buy packs so often within such a short period of time.  We're on friendly terms too so I don't feel uncomfortable talking to her about her results.

Since last Friday, she's purchased a total of 8 packs of the $20 tickets.  Like I said in my last post, her first pack came back with $340 in winners.   She then bought another 20 tickets.

Monday she came back with ~$340 in winners and bought another pack, but this time she went with the older $20 ticket, $5M Jackpot ticket.  She came back in today and apparently she's bought another pack this morning.  This morning she won $750+, getting lucky with one ticket being a $500 winner.  The tickets that I cashed today, she ended up winning $345.   Hope this all makes sense.

She told me that her average is about $340-360, which is about what I told her it would be, unless you get lucky and get a $500+ winner in there.  She also said that every pack has had 10-12 winners per pack, which works out ~30% win rate, which falls pretty close in line with the advertised odds on the back.

We talked more about how her new pace of purchasing packs isn't sustainable and that she should probably go back to her old pace, which was buying one tickets from every roll of the $20 and $10 tickets.  When she does this, she usually spends ~$140-200.

She clearly has a big problem.  Borderline addiction.  What a waste of money. That's just flat out stupid to keep burning through money like that with absolutely no decent ROI for all the trouble.

I find it very shady that the CA Lotto hasnt posted any results of 1k or greater on the new $20.00 game....  We all know someone has already hit the $5mil at least once.  They know once they post that, sales will decline.....

So, turned in a $20 ticket that I won a ticket on the way home and got #001 of a new roll and got a $250 win.  Just pure luck with these games.  Now the rest of that roll will probably be a bad ROI for who is playing it.  I find the less I play now, the more I end up winning.  So odd.....

                          Here's something I don't see everyday.

Customer came in bought a few tickets.  Before he left, he wanted 3 of the new Hit $500 game.  As I was pulling the tickets, they were the last in the row.  He decided to buy the last 4.  He came back later in the day all excited.  2 tickets in a row hit $500 (I believe it was 002 and 003).  I was pleasantly surprised and he was beaming from ear to ear.   Good thing it happened on a Friday.

                          Good luck everyone.

I've been wondering about the calottery's top prizes remaining and how up-to-date that information is.  Does anyone knows how often that gets updated ?  One of my favorites that I've been playing for a while is California Black scratchers, and have won $500, $100 multiple times.  It still has 11 top prizes remaining, however one of the retailer told me it's all gone, no more Ca. Black and the top prize are all claimed, contrary to what's posted in the page.

I think the remaining prizes page gets updated daily.  The lower tier prize information changes daily.  With anything $600+ you need to fill forms, etc., so that takes time from the time you submit your paperwork.

I'm pretty sure the top prizes are not all claimed for CA Black.  It's probably not on retailer shelves either though since it's not selling much anymore.  The CA Lottery does a good job of staggering their top prize wins with lower tier prizes, so the ratio is somewhat close at each prize level.
