Whenever I win the clerks never voluntarily give me a copy of the receipt showing the winning ticket value. I always have to ask when I cash a winning ticket.

Anyway yesterday sums up my scratcher "WINS" for 2015, which have been few and far between.  I bought 4 of the $5 Money Bag Multipliers (47-50).  Ticket 47 was a loser, but 48, 49 and 50 were all "WINNERS".  Three in a row never has that ever happened. My prize for 3 wins in a row was 3 "Tickets".

1It is good to see undercover agents to randomly perform a protocol inspection test to measure integrity of the retailers. That guy did screw up, if he understood it or not, there are way too many zeros to be suspicious. As a consumer, I am well aware of the possible prize tiers for every game before I buy any.

The Nevada Gaming Commission does this too by sending out 19 or 20 year olds to casinos to see if they get carded at a table game.

But to cut off a major national gasoline brand from selling lottery tickets over one mishandled case would be stupid on the CALottery part.

I bought 2 ultimate riches today 19 and 20, got Ticket and $25.

From the article it sounds like that retailer was already under investigation so I don't think it was a random inspection.

Unfortunately this is pretty common.  I have a lot of customers who often come in with winning tickets and ask me to just give them cash, and they'll offer to take a lower amount.  Some are regulars and either can't wait or don't want to deal with the hassle/taxes aspect of it.  I always turn them away and they always just take their ticket elsewhere or I help them fill out the form.

But there are retailers who do play and are often very lucky.  My mom often comes in to relax or help out and she always plays Hot Spot.  Two days ago she hit 5 out of 5 for $450 and last night won 5 out of 5 again plus a couple of 4 out of 5's on the same ticket (10 consecutive games) and won $480+.

I almost never give a copy of the receipt to my customers.  It's not to be deceitful or anything.  It's just 99% of customers do not care about them.  Often time they'll just take the receipt and just throw it away on the counter or somewhere else making a mess.  Think about the receipts you get at the grocery store or anywhere else, most people never look at it again and just crumple it up and throw it away.  Generally I just tell them the amount and they look at the computerized prompt to see the total.  If they think they won more or less, then I'll hand them their ticket and receipt or print out their total from the system to show them.

But I always tell my customers to check their tickets before coming to the counter.  And never tell the clerk how much you won unless you know for sure beforehand by checking it on one of those automated checkers that are available.

Here's a new game that is coming out in June.  Haven't seen anyone mention it yet.  My rep brought one by and let me look at it for a bit but wouldn't let me keep it.  Thought you guys would like to check it out.  I should be getting a sample soon so once I do I'll post it up here for you guys.

News of another person winning back to back large prizes on a Cal Lottery Scracther has given me reason to stop buying them.  I live outside the Zone where the large prizes are being purchased.  I'll buy them when I'm in SoCal (LA or Orange County) but other than that I'll just buy the Power Ball and MegaMillions tickets going forward.

Yours probably has 4 times the top prize of $250k.  But in California all prizes that have a million dollar prize attached are $10-20 games.

So a $250k top prize for a $20 ticket probably wouldn't do as well out here.

$ 20 game and the jackpot is a million. seems backwards. dont think ill be playing that playbook. i saw a sample at the gas station of that playbook. doesnt interest me.

                          we need better 20$ games.

I don't blame you. Im from San Diego. Took a trip to the Bay Area. Stopped at a Chevron in San Jose and got a $20 Ultimate Riches. Nothing. I just expect my money back for once. I truly believe that winning the lottery is already in those winner's life path. I will stick to super lotto and fantasy 5. CA scratchers are a scam especially if you buy one once in a blue moon like me.

After months of duds finally hit a couple of winners.  Today won $100 on the $1,000,000 Jackpot scratcher by accident.  Asked clerk for a $20 scratcher and by mistake he ripped off the $1,000,000 Jackpot ($10).  The other day won $50 on the 20X The Cash.
