If I recall correctly, the CA Lottery will withhold 25% starting at $5,000.

I think so too, but you are still on the hook for federal taxes if you win $600 or more.

I wanted to change things up a little bit.  I bought five $3 Tripling Crossword (pink) tickets, #019 to #023.

        #019 - $0

        #020 - $0

        #021 - $0

        #022 - $15 ($5 tripled)

        #023 - $5 (bonus word)

I think I'll move on to the other pink game, Win It All for the next batch...

I bought four $5 Win It All tickets, last four in the pack, #076 to #079.  I felt good with these numbers leaving the store thinking I was going to win at least something, free ticket... $6... $10.  Wrong.

              All losers.  Thumbs Down

Bought a bunch of tickets for 1,000,000 Fortune.  Since that put it near the end of the roll, clerk suggested I buy the last 3.  I did.

Ended up down $15 for everything I bought there, but the last 5 (045-049) were winners.  Ticket, 15, 20, 100,10.

Ticket ID was 664858.  Don't know if Ticket ID's close to it would have a similar sequence with a group of winners at the end, but some have suggested that they might.

Unfortunate to hear about the losses from you guys.

Last night I bought ten California Gold tickets and essentially got my money back (rare).

                    #28 - 37

                    #28: $20 (4x $5)

                    #30: $20 ((10X) $2)

                    #32: $20 ((10X) $2)

                    #33: $20 ($10 + 2x $5)

                    #36: $25 (2x $10 + $5)

Decided to play more California Gold on a 20 ticket batch at a different place and got burned.

Probably will wait until California Black Exclusive is released, but I was wondering if the odds got posted anywhere.

                      Tickets #23 - 42

                      #24: $15 ($10 + $5)

                      #25: $15 (3x $5)

                      #36: $25

                      #37: $25

                      #39: Ticket

10 consecutive losing tickets from #26-35, have not had that in a while, that part ended up being my losses.

I checked out 2nd chance website and the $1Million Fortune will have an End of Game date of Feb 22 2014. This game lasted over 18 months.

Thanks for sharing.  I didn't realize those nasty 10 ticket gaps were present in $10 games.

I noticed CA Lottery posted a story about the recent $5 million winner.  He was from SoCal (Murietta).  I believe this makes it 3 in SoCal, one was in LA and I heard the other was in SoCal somewhere too.  There was one top prize sold in Happy Camp, CA, a tiny town of about 1,200 people in Northern California.

BTW, the guy from Murietta said the jackpot prize was on the last, 20th spot on the ticket.

The other one was in Escondido, in San Diego County. NorCal had the majority of the $5 Set For Life winners.

green sandal's 25K win was on the single last number match as well, so I suppose it may be easy to over look it by placing it there.

One of the $5 LFL jackpot winner stories stated the very first number he scratched was a "LIFE" symbol.

I noticed a trend with the scratch ticket vendor that the CA Lottery uses, you see TWO top prize values on the prize boxes for all losing tickets.

I just read that same story...Good for him.. Even if I miss any winning number, I will catch it when I enter the second chance.
