Bought the rest of a Power 8s roll in Inveress Florida.
I called a place in Ocala, Palatka, and visited any other spots near Gainesville which had the ticket. These stores seem to have sold out, or disposed of it. $70 back out of $135 spent, so not as bad as it could have been.
Bought several $5 Losing Streak tickets. Even when I buy 3-4 in a row, always losers. What's the average payout on those books? $105/$300? Lol.

not sure and not sure If it get better either, I couldn't believe I bought 90 dollars worth of the 5 dollar monopoly and got 15 dollars back, bought 3 20 dollar goldrushes got 25 on the second one and a 25 dollar misfortune and lost on that, 130 dollars.poof I stayed away the entire month last month , but lets face it I haven't had a decent winner since that 10 dollar holiday, and I've lost probably 1000-1300 dollars with no end in sight, not a rich man by any means , maybe by black Friday I can get even, gonna do some speaker shopping.

Well today was a bit of mixed results. I found a store with the $2M Holiday Gifts and the roll serial number was 24,991. So I burned though the roll but it only had two decent winners (two prizes of $100). So that put me about $200 in the negative. Then as I was putting gas in my car, I decided to buy one of the $20 Flamingo tickets since it was the last one on the roll. I was pretty surprised when I saw the 100X symbol. I was hoping to see a $50 or $200 under it, but I'm not complaining.
On a side note, a gas station right by my house has two rolls of the $20 Monopoly going. I am pretty adverse to the game given that there are not going to be any $5M prizes won anytime soon. However, the website shows that none of the $1M prizes have been won (which could just be their inability to update the prizes remaining on the website). The two rolls at the gas station are in the upper 4,000 range. That is the lowest I have seen anywhere. Most places are at 100K+. Any thoughts?

Nice win Gator! Being up $300 for the day is very nice, surely beats losing. The 100X symbol is so elusive on this game. The most I've seen were 25X symbols (two of them for a $150 win).
@ Sunny45 - Sorry to hear about the losses on these tickets. I hear you, and have had comparably bad experiences (my 2nd chance entries speak for my luck). Hope things turn around for you soon, bud.

Hey all, I know it's supposed to be scratch-offs centered but.
I've been watching the Pick 2 drawings. So fare there's been 12 drawings picking a total of 24 numbers. Out of all these drawings, the number "1" hasn't come in at all yet.
0- 3 times
1 - 0 times
2- 3 times
3 - 3 times
4 - 4 times
5 - 3 times
6 - 2 times
7 - 1 time
8 - 3 times
9 - 2 times
If tempted to throw $200 on a drawing today and just cover all the combinations of 1x or x1. If I did this and a 1 were to come in, it would be worth $500. Unless 1-1 came in which would be worth $1K.

The Orlando Sentinel had an interesting article on scratch-offs today .. and if you go to their website they have an article about the scratch-offs being used to entice the poor and advertising to minorities and another link to who/where in Florida the most $$ is spent on lottery
OMG if you look at the map look at tallahassee spending vs median income and okahumpka

lol, the lottery has always been a poor tax
After playing scratchoff games today, I learned that scratchoffs in Gainesville make Jacksonville's payouts look generous. I also played the Monopoly tickets, and $20 Flamingo tickets in Orlando (in low-income neighborhood food stores, and Publix). The amount of duds I've encountered is unbelievable. Not a single hit above $40 on $20, and $25 tickets. It is sad when a lucky win on a $5 ticket matches your win on a $20-$25 ticket losing streak. I absolutely cannot catch a break playing scratch tickets, whether at the $1 or $25 level.
My eyes have been opened, and I'm done donating to this optional education tax. I feel embarrassed playing lotto scratchers, especially when family members know how educated I am and see me contributing to toss my money in a hole. I'm going to focus on paying off credit card debt/student loans, and saving my money instead of continuously donating it.
I've encountered SEVEN losers in a row on the $20 Monopoly (roll 126k). I've played $20 Monopoly rolls in the 9k, 80k, 110k, and up to 127k range. The patterns, and payout seem typical. The $20 Monopoly rolls in my area seem to be minimum payout rolls, probably $205/$600 to collect revneue to make up for the two $5 million prizes that have been hit. The losers are where; Winn Dixie, Publix, Food stores, Gas stations, etc. It doesn't matter if I buy 1, 2, or 3 from a particular roll. Even diversifying where I buy tickets has not led to anything stepping back from my financial plans. I guess I'm lucky in that I was able to get both my undergraduate, and graduate degrees in under $25k debt. I need to focus on paying that off instead of filling the lottery's pot of money only to fill someonelse's pockets in south FL. (with the occasional winner in Jacksonville, or Tampa) I mean, I certainly understand this concept. I'd rather play a lottery game where the lower tier payouts were more generous, frequent, and with a much smaller "jackpot" prize of say $500k-$1m like how some other states design their games.
I've postponed my "debt free" day and plans, but I have to say today has opened my eyes and I'm out of here just like wbrightfl realized when he kept encountering duds in the Orlando area. Putting my gigantic stacks of losers into the 2nd chance drawing coming up. I don't expect to win anything like usual, but at least I can shove them all in a drawer somewhere.

For anyone curious, this is what almost 2k entries in the Monopoly 2nd chance promo looks like. ( I entered about 1k during the first entry, and here's 2k I'm entering for the second drawing if this gives you a sense of how my luck has been lately - whenever I buy tickets I essentially buy entries for this drawing )
Unfortunately, this is my highest win in the past few days. I've played through a half a roll of Power 8s (biggest winner $20), probably about 10 $20 LFL, probably 30 different $20 Flamingo tickets (from various rolls, mostly losers with the biggest win being a $100 winner single purchase from a Publix machine, and maybe 10 of the $25 Fortune tickets. I bought the last 8 Super Millions from a 7 Eleven, and got back about $180 or $200 ($20-$40 profit - better than losing). Overall, I'm down alot because of how much the Monopoly tickets have been kicking my ass.

Hope everyone is well. I live in Miami.
I have a question for all of you. Throughout my life, I'm 30 now, I probably played $50 worth of scratch off cards.
This past month I decided to give it a shot. I've played a variety of games.
Let me ask you if you feel like I'm an exception to the rule.
I've played one $25 game like 15 times and had 3 $100 winners. Is that uncommon?
I've invested about $550 and won like $520. I've only lost about $30
Played everything from $1 to $25 cards and everything in between.
I wanted to know if this kind of example is an exception to the rule and expect to lose more in the future? At one point I was up like $100, but I'm now down like $30.

Hi Kamba,
Welcome to the LP community! I'd say you've been fairly lucky to be about even. Typically, most games pay back about 50 to 75 cents per dollar. If you play long-term, you'll very likely roll into the negative unless you hit bigger prizes (1ks, 5ks, 10ks, and up or the elusive jackpot).
When I first started playing, I won $500 SIX times over the span of a week (5 on $20 Gold Rush, and 1 on $25 Fl Cash). This was definitely some beginners luck, but also likely supports the theory of "pooling" and "hot/cold" rolls seeded within areas in order to boost sales revenue. I literally drove from a Publix, hit $500, then drove to another publix down the road and found two more $500 prizes. Then I drove to the Winn Dixie, found a $500, hit a gas station on the way back ($500). I think four of those $500 prizes were hit in one day, and then the other two happened over the week. I won $1k on FL Cash shortly after, $1k on Holiday Gifts a couple months after that, and then my losing streak has started. While I was "up" about $3000 at one point, now I'm well in the negatives by several thousand (probably about $10k at this point with how many splurges and books I've played through). I've only been playing scratchers for about a year now, but due to the high quantity of tickets I've played, I quickly went from being "up" to into the "negatives" (the normal return rate caught up to me, and a lack of big wins kept me in the negatives).
My personal recommendation:
1- Since it sounds like you have good self-control, I'd say maybe buy 1 or 2 tickets randomly here or there. I hear of people hitting big on $2, and $5 tickets (someone just won $5000 on a $5 ticket a couple pages back on this thread). Big winners can come anywhere, not just the $10, $20, or $25 tickets. Someone who struggles with self-control should stay away from the "bigger" tickets because becoming addicted on those will almost always ensure you are in the negatives unless you hit a big prize (20k, 100k, or a jackpot).
2- Never chase. I don't follow this rule because I've become addicted, but typically if you encounter alot of losers more often than not the roll you're playing on is a "low payout" roll ($205/$600 is the minimum for $10, and $20 tickets).

Kamba, seems it can be normal. One of my very first posts here a few years ago I wrote about driving around Archer/Newberry/Gainesville playing $1 and $2 games. Then when I was down some money, I played my first $25 ticket ever, 100X the cash. It was ticket no 1 and I remember matching 10 numbers and winning $100. That got me going around and finding "low" number 100X tickets. Somehow I managed to find 4 $100 winners that night. 1 of them also was the first or second Monopoly $20 ticket I ever played.
Unforutnately, I've never had any success like that again. I remember one night going through 7 losing $25 tickets in a row before finding a breakeven $25 winner. My biggest win on a scractch off ever has been $150, 3 times all in the 100X game with two times getting 5X for $30 and the other getting my only ever "Win All" symbol that was for the $150 minimum amount for that prize. I probably scratched my good share of the old Gold Rush Tripler game and never did find that $500 nugget.
Anyways I have to fill up the car for the week. I've been good for awhile with not buying too much, I think I'll treat myself to a "Mis"fortune ticket. BRB tell you how it goes.
