Adam you sound like a great guy with his head screwed on just right. You've shared more here than anyone probably ever

would share. Thank you for being specific because maybe in the near future when someone else here wins, they will refer

back to your posts, even with its doubts and indecision and wariness, and gain a wealth of information from them.

I hope I didn't insult you, I was afraid I might. I have no problem insulting those that need it, you are not one.

I only asked about your father because of the ticket you gave him. Being family it's easy to cross the line sometimes

when things go from flying high to way down low. Lots of money sometimes makes people not even know themselves.

You have lots going for you and you will be one of the success stories in a sea of lottery winning failures. Winning a large

amount of money, even if someone blows it all, all that matters in the end is what they  feel, not the judgement of those

around them. So, once more, I apologize if you took my post the wrong way, I didn't intend to put you down. Thank you

for answering it. Good luck now and always!

Couple wins from this morning. Nothing crazy but it's nice to just buy 2 of each and win.

While it's on my mind, I ran into a book of $10 Holiday Gifts (90k-ish book #) today and got to thinking. I wonder if our theory-crafting might be off on this game. Though it's probably unlikely this other winner will ever be claimed, I got to wondering if perhaps, given that it's meant to be a short run game with a single printing, they stuck the top prizes both near the end. There's nothing that says one must be in the earlier half of books (given Adam won on ~102k). If this were one of the larger/normal games it would make sense for the prizes to be spread out, but since Holiday Gifts is supposed to be such a quick run, perhaps the usual observations don't apply here...?

I played a couple tickets and broke even, but given as it's getting so bloody rare, could it prove worthwhile to buy further into a book at 90k? I might just have to try it and see.

The other thought I had was that last year's $10 Holiday Gifts might still be around when this year's show up. How odd would that be?

It is certainly possible the jackpot distribution in this game was irregular, and the last jackpot (or the first one which wasn't hit) for $2M Holiday Gifts is still out there in the 60k-90k range. There's still a good number of unactivated books of $2m Holiday Gifts out there.

Personally, I'd rather play $10 Jackpot over $2M Holiday Gifts at this point as I feel $2M Holiday Gifts is/was at greater risk of having books destroyed/deactivated as a result of the holiday season ending.

$2M Holiday Gifts usually pays back, from my experiences, better than most other $10 tickets. It sure as hell pays back better than $20 Flamingo, or $20 Super Millions...

Another note, Double deuces and Fast $100 both had additional hits. $5 Winning Streak, and $ Super 7s had hits as well. I'm surprised $25 Fortune, $20 Flamingo, and $20 Monopoly have been dry. $20 Flamingo, in particular, hasn't had a jackpot hit in 3 months! The definition of "overdue", for that game. The release of the new $20 Gold Rush will definitely affect ticket sales in other games. Depending on the odds, it might be the new "go to" game to play.

I think it was the $20 Monopoly's 2 5MM winners that showed the prizes don't have to be in the ranges expected, though it may have been one of the other Monopoly games. Either way, they more often than not seem to be fairly properly spaced. So if it is out there, I think the under 60k range is a good idea. Also, I think Adam's win was on 112k.

Lastly, since they've already set October as an end date for like 14 games or so and they never add any (or haven't in the past) once they list them, and they always list them months in advance, and the new holiday tickets come out in November - I expect the current holiday games will still be out when the new ones come out. At least retailers that stocked up on them will have them.

I would have to think that the lottery will pull ALL of last years Holiday Gifts tickets before the new ones come out. Could you imagine the confusion if a store happened to have both?  Maybe the lottery is banking on the ticket supply completely running out in the next 2 months?  Or they will just collect them all and that will be it....

I don't think stores can actually order any of the current holiday games anymore - certainly not the $10 one, but not sure about the $2 one. I don't think they're concerned with it either as they ran 2 different $5 Flamingos (both of which are still going) at the same time as well as the new and old $2 Monopoly. Also a few years ago they had two different types of x (50x etc) games going at once. See here

Game 1287 Fantastic 5's ends in October but has not had any jackpot hits. For a $5 ticket I would of thought the jackpot would of hit at least once before they end it. I am seriously considering buying some books of those if I can find any in the Jax area. I have sent an email to Jax district office for locations and to find out if they have any.

What does everyone think about it or should I consider waiting and purchasing a book of the new goldrush?

              Thanks

Surely you're misreading the remaining prizes list. Fantastic 5's is ending because all of the top prizes have been hit.

Understandable, a lot of other states list prizes claimed and total prizes so 0/8 would look like all the prizes were still available. Florida is one of only a few I've seen that displays prizes remaining instead.

                      What's up everyone?

Have not played anything over $5 in awhile. No big wins to report.

But the reason I've been trying to avoid playing is b/c our cross-country trip to CA starts on Friday. We're driving 3 days to CA to spend a week in LA/Hollywood, see the sights and view some tapings. We've got priority tickets for the Price is Right taping on 20 Sep, there's 3 of us so maybe if we get called to come on down, there's a 3/325 chance one of us makes it. My mom wants to win a car since her current one doesn't have any air and that doesn't work in FL.

Since we'll be passing through CA, AZ, NM, TX, and LA does anybody know any scratchers in any of these states worth playing? As tempting as it might be, I don't think I'm going to touch the $50 tickets in Texas. Last Thanksgiving when we went to Vegas we bought a scratch off in every state we passed through that sold them and didn't win anything until we were back in FL! Go figure.

Fuel stop tonight for work this week. Might pick up a ticket. Would be really nice to win $100

While going out to get a couple $2M Jackpot tickets today I stopped at a few random stores and found some interesting books. Found a book of $10 Holiday Gifts in the 21k range. Went through about ten tickets and pretty much broke even (might go back and play a few more).

Also, I've recently been buying a few $500 A Week For Life tickets here and there and have mostly seen book #s in the 180k range which should be pretty close to the end. Today, though, I found three stores with tickets from 190k to 193k. Ghost, I know you've been playing this also, have you seen any this high?

Sounds like fun, zz. I've made that trip before with a friend, Orlando to LA. Took us about 38 hours, but we drove straight through. Only stopped a few times for gas/food. Texas takes an eternity to cross. We actually got held up for a couple hours in Texas because I-10 was stopped dead after a tornado crossed the interstate at night. Threw a couple semis around like toys (no one badly hurt though). Our car was nearly struck by lightning while stopped in the congestion too. Thunder so loud and close it made our ears ring.

And if I were going through Texas now, I'd play at least one of the $50 tickets. Just cause. Same reason I buy a $30 ticket whenever I go up to Georgia. Kind of a novelty when the super high dollar games aren't here in FL.

FYI, the $1M prizes dropped by 2 for the $5M Monopoly game and by 1 for the $5M Flamingo.

I went to visit family in S. Florida last week and while down there, I bought the remaining tickets in 3 $10 Holiday rolls from various Kwik Marts: roll numbers 18k, 47k and 58k but no winners over $50.  Very frustrating.

I also found a few places with the $2M Jackpot but no big wins either.

Just holding my breath for a big one...hopefully.

                              Hey zz,

Casino Action is the only $50 tic in Tx right now. Top prize is $7.5 million. 3 top prizes, 1 has been claimed so 2 left out there, somewhere in the big state of Texas. LOL.

There are 2 new $20 tix. $1,000,000 Riches...6 top prizes of $1 million, none claimed yet. The other is Millionaire's Club. Same $1 million prize, 6 out there, none claimed.  They both have the same odds for the top prize, 1 in 1,000,000.

I haven't played these yet myself. I got away from scratchers and have been playing AoN, and Triple Chance, along with MM, PB, Lotto, and Texas 2 Step.

You might buy 1 tic when you first hit the state, then buy one in the middle, and buy one before you leave the state.

I would suggest you be sure to buy one of your tix in the Houston area. I'm not a conspiracy nut about certain areas getting all the winners, but Houston does have a lot.

Whatever you decide, good luck and have a good trip!
