Wow,  \$100 win on a \$2 Gold Rush from Ghost, \$500 win on \$20 Gold Rush from Gators, and a nice scratch session from Lucid? Congratz guys! I'm glad you all are finding some nice winners.

I looked over the emergency game rules for the new \$20 Gold Rush ticket. Can someone double check my math/logic, and make sure I'm looking at it correctly?

420 pools of 120,000 tickets = 50.4m tickets, right

50.4m tickets divided by 281,400 (the total number of \$500 prizes in all combinations) = 1 in 179.1 odds in hitting \$500. If this is indeed correct, then that would mean the new \$20 Gold Rush is going to be *better* than the previous one in essentially ever category.

Am I making a math error here, or do we think this is a game rules error as usual? =p

Where did you find the emergency rule for the new gold rush game?  I didn't find it online.

After looking at the emergency rule, there are a few observations:

1. They added a \$250 prize which is a nice middle tier prize.
2. The \$500 prize odds appear to be 1 in 179 which is better than the current \$600GR of 1 in 197.
3. They achieve these two changes by the following: there is no second chance raffle like the original Gold Rush family which dipped into the prize pool.  They eliminated the entire \$5,000 prize tier. The odds of winning \$1,000 go from 1 in 3,333 in the \$600GR to the new odds of 1 in 5,000 for a \$1,000 prize.  Also, the odds for the \$100,000 prize go from 1 in 448,000 in the \$600GR to 1 in 2,520,000 for the \$100,000 prize.
4. However, to balance out some of those prize tiers, they did add a \$1M prize with 1 in 1,680,000 odds and a \$5M prize (which replaces the \$3M prize) with staggering 1 in 8,400,000 odds.
5. Looks like it may be worth playing...especially if the \$5M prize is won on the Flamingo game.  The game is designed to be bottom heavy with decent odds at the \$250/\$500 prize tiers at the expense of the top prizes being almost impossible to win (except maybe the \$1M prize).

Thanks for that analysis, and confirmation bro. I thought I was miscalculating, and the lack of 2nd chance promo certainly helps justify it.

1 in 179 is a hell of alot better for a \$500 hit, I think I'll play this ticket exclusively. Is this the best the \$500 hit odds have ever been?

Do you know what the odds are for the \$250 prize?

While the \$100k, and \$5m odds aren't that good, the \$1m odds are pretty decent considering the likelihood of \$500 wins on this game. This is a welcomed game design compromise that I approve of.

706 you mean?

Collectively we've pretty much scoured the state and I don't think anyone's seen higher than 737k. (The highest I've run into is 736309.)

Yeah, Gators and I both found rolls in the 737k range. I found one in the 737xxxk range in Jacksonville a month ago.

Here in South FL, I think the highest roll I've come across was maybe 728k.

Check out the \$500 odds on the \$20 100X in Georgia, 1:145.

Georgia's \$20 Shimmering Cash has a neat prize layout too. Not exactly what I'd call ideal, but better than most of the games here with tons of different prizes spread all over the place.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the jackpot is found in the 680k range? I mean, I posted pictures of the last two jackpot wins. I believe the last jackpot hit was in the 580k range. I think we assumed 720k-737k range mostly since that would be right toward the end of the print.

I've even come across books in the 590k or early 600k range, but didn't play anything beyond 1 ticket on those.

@ MrGray - Wow, 1 in 145 for \$500? That's incredible! Now that's a \$20 ticket worth playing.

Can any veteran players here shed some light on how good the odds used to be on \$20 scratchoff tickets? I always hear about how good tickets were back in the day. Does anyone remember any of the odds for \$20 tickets years back? I've heard about Gold Rush Tripler from reading old comments on this thread.

Don't forget the Gold Rush second chance game didn't start until the \$1-\$10 versions came out. Until then everyone was throwing away their loser \$20 GR tickets. \$20 started 09/01/14 and the others 01/13/2015. So while I doubt they'll do second chance on this one, it is possible still.

Gold Rush Tripler is the one that seemed to pop the most \$500s, though I don't recall the odds. I was mostly playing the \$200k/yr For Life game when Tripler was around, along with Billion Dollar Blockbuster, which seemed to really portray the hot/cold streaks we've seen in some games before.

And I think the latest Super Millions winner was on a 655k roll. (I'll take a sec here and see if I can find the image again. Couldn't find it, had to upload from a saved file.)

Also of interest might be the last 200k/yr win:

Have you had any luck on \$20 Unlucky for Life?

That's right. So 655k was the most recent Super Millions jackpot, and 582k was the one right before it. So the 720k-737k really would be the "prime spot" because a 75k roll difference would put it at 730k. The last few k books could be "extra prints" at the end.

I see that \$200k/yr jackpot was 487k. I've seen \$200k/yr for Life books in the 520k, 550k, and even 580k. It is an underselling tickets. Whenever I have bought them in the past, I've had cashiers tell me no one plays that game. After hitting 12 losers in a row on that game, I'm traumatized haha.
