After the changes are enacted, the odds of winning the jackpot — which was a record $590.5 million in 2013 — will increase to 1 in 292,201,338, up from 1 in 175,223,510. The odds of winning $4? That will improve from 1 in 111 to 1 in 92. The new rules will take effect with tickets purchased starting Oct. 4 for the Oct. 7 drawing.
I will buy a ticket when the jackpot reaches astronomical levels only. Living in Calif, the 5/6 prize is usually well below $1 million and the chances of winning that will also be more difficult. I will spend the 2 bucks I didnt spend on PB on SuperLotto. The odds on superlotto are suppose to be 1:40 mil. However, there have been so few winners this year I have to wonder about that, too.
