Two Days...Too Lucky

I was really busy during the past 2 days, so I didn't have time to post this until now.

On Monday, I decided to stop by a package store on the way to work to get some tickets.  My gut told me to get 5 of the $2 10X The Money tickets....so I did.  Gut feelings have been wrong for me in the past...

...but not this time. Big Grin (shrinked the picture to hopefully not be so wide)

Now we come to yesterday.  I had to go to my work yesterday morning for a meeting (after having to close the night before, coming home at 12:30 in the morning, and having to wake up at 6).  After the meeting was over, I got a ride back home.  My mom decided that she wanted to go to the Goodwill.  So she went there while I went down to the tobacco mart to slow play tickets.  One thing......it was my mom's birthday (which was why she was off work yesterday).  I decided to take those $60 in winners and use some of that to buy her a birthday gift....a $20 World Class Millions ticket.  I wound up buying 2 of them....one for her and one for me.  I gave her the first one (which wound up being a $20 breakeven via 2 x $10).  The next ticket was mine.  The next ticket...

...was that.  My 8th $100 winner ever. Big Grin  It's time again to update my biggest winners list...

$20:  2 $100 winners -- $50 + $20 + 3 x $10 on a GA Lottery 15th Anniversary Millionaire Extravaganza in July 2008 and 5 x $20 on a World Class Millions in April 2009

$10:  3 $100 winners on 3 Cash Explosion -- 2 in January 2008 via  5 x $10 + 10 x $5 w/firecracker and 4 x Bill $5 and 1 in May 2008 via 5 x $10 + 10 x $5 w/firecracker

$5:  $60 (15 x $4 w/truck) on $250,000 Cash in May 2008

$3:  $72 (12 x $6 w/gold bar) on Lucky Gold in February 2009

$2:  $125 ($100 + $20 + $5) on Loteria in January 2009

$1:  $100 (Jumbo $20) on a Junior Jumbo Bucks in April 2005

$0.50:  $40 (381 box) on Cash 3 in October 2008

It's about bloody time I get some picture-worthy winners again.  It's been a little while. Razz

Until next time, may you hit a ton of number matches for a ton of dough. Smile

I'm noticing a pattern...

When it's as hot as it is here in GA (pretty much this time of year through late summer), Miss Kitty curls up or stretches out and sleeps in funny positions (probably to stay cool with her black and white fur)...

I always like it when Miss Kitty does that.  She looks so pretty when she lays like that. Smile

Friday:

On Friday, something good happened.  I went out shopping with my mom.  She decided to change her mind at the last second and go to the Goodwill in the same shopping center as my favorite lotto place.  Well, I had called the tobacco mart (the one that forgot to renew its lottery license and had to quit selling tickets while they went through the process to get it back) last week and they said it'd be about another week before they'd be selling tickets again.  We get down there and I head on down there to see if they're selling tickets.  Well.......they were!  SLOW PLAYING IS BACK!!!!!!!!! Hyper

Here we go with today's slow playing:

Free ticket and $3 ($2 + $1) on 2 $1 Pirate's Gold

$3 on $1 Crazy 7s

Friday other places:

$10 (2 x $5) on $5 $500,000 Hold 'Em Poker

2 free tickets on 2 $2 10X The Money

$29 profit

Well, it was a decent week!  I'm glad my slow playing haven is back up and running again!

Until next time, may you win lots of dough at your favorite lottery place. Big Grin

Until next time, may you win lots of loot and may your experiments (especially lotto experiments) work out well for ya! Smile

(If you watched the April Fool's episode of The Price Is Right this year, you'll understand my references to dancing bears and vowels and consonants galore. Razz  That reminds me.....I need to see if I can find the font they use for those opening words on The Price Is Right.  *light bulb turns on in my head.....then immediately blows* )

I didn't buy many tickets this week because I just flat out didn't feel like getting out and getting some with the way my left foot was going.

I did go to the foot doctor yesterday.......I'm flat footed and that (IIRC from what the foot doctor said) had something to do with my pain.  My left foot was twisted abnormally and when he tried to twist it to the "normal" position, I felt pain in the same exact spot where I've been feeling it for a week and a half (albeit not as bad....probably because I didn't have to work yesterday and the pain got aggravated while at work).  He gave me some arch supports and an ankle brace and told me to try that for a few weeks and come back.  (He mentioned some other stuff about my left foot and used terms that I still probably couldn't pronounce....)  I do feel a noticable improvement to the point where I'm able to walk around pretty much just fine.

Ok, about the printer deal.....

I followed konane's suggestion to download Open Office.  I did that and printed the same exact document.....and got the same exact cut off lines.  I followed another commented suggestion to convert it to a PDF file (using Open Office to do it).  It printed off ALMOST perfectly.  There were only 2 lines that tried to have the characters chopped off (one was the same line from the previous problems....the other was a different line); however, instead of a full cut off, the very top (not too far down on the character) of the character is a very light gray color.  If anyone wants to see this particular copy, I'll scan it and upload it and let you see what I'm talking about.  This problem is just flat out baffling me.

Until next time, may you win lots of loot and if you have any pain, may it get better and eventually go away. Smile

Small Update On 2 Subjects

I do have a doctor appointment today at 4:30 (at a foot doctor).  This week was just flat out awful.  I can't wait until today.  Hopefully I'll have some kind of fix (at this point, I'll take anything to fix this).

I checked the printer stuff last night.  I reinstalled the drivers and I'm still getting cut off text.  I did check the line spacing and all that and everything shows up fine in print preview.  I'll have to look at Word when I get a chance.

(I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but I did do the same exact words in a different font and I still had the cut off problem......but it was on different lines that time around.)

Update again:  I tried doing some repair stuff to Word, printing single-spaced, and printing 1.5-spaced and still getting this problem (and on the same exact lines as in the document I linked to in my last post).  However, I formatted the whole letter double-spaced and it printed perfectly.  Hmmm.......does anyone have any more ideas?

Until next time, may you have no pain in any part of your body and may your printer not chop off characters on random lines. Smile

Calling all computer people who know printers well -- printer problem I've had for a while...

Take a look at the document located here.

(Don't pay any attention to the blurred info at the top and bottom.)

Notice some of the lines are cut off at the top (e.g. Aladdin's Lamp, Cherry/Orange/Lemon Twist, etc.) on certain lines.  I've done Google searches on this and can't seem to find much (besides way off topic stuff and some that answer it with spam).  I look at the document in Print Preview in Micorsoft Office XP (Word, to be specific) and everything shows up just fine (no letters cut off at the top of certain lines, etc.).  I can copy documents directly on the printer (an HP PSC 2355v all-in-one) and they print off just fine.  It's just when I print from Microsoft Word that I have this problem (I just tested it with Excel and my Instant Game Stats sheet with the overall odds for each instant game in GA and it printed off 100% fine with no cut offs).

Could any of you that know a lot about printers out there help me on this?  I've had this issue for a while and it's driving me crazy.  I've tried changing printer cartridges and everything that I can think of and still haven't fixed the problem.  I know some computer stuff.....but printers and some networking stuff have always been my weakness.

Thanks a bunch!

(P.S.  If you need any more info (as in anything I might have left out that you need to know in order to help), reply and let me know and I'll get back to ya.)

I do have an update to my last blog post about my foot.  I did go to the doctor today.  I went ahead and KO'd 2 birds with one stone since I was also a week to a week and a half away from running out of my blood pressure medicine.  My doctor did some blood work and recommended me to a foot doctor (with an appointment next Thursday afternoon).  She also wrote an excuse and advised me not to close at all next week (and I handed it over to the big cheese at work before I went to get my prescriptions filled).  In the meantime, she prescribed me some more steroid pills* and an anti-inflammatory medicine until I see the foot doctor.  I'm hopefully a step closer to getting my foot problem taken care of.

*Remember last year when I had steroid pills prescribed to me for my left foot?  It seemed like my luck on scratchers went through the roof after taking them.  Maybe it'll be the same case this time. Razz

Until next time, may you have good luck on tickets and no pain in any part of your body. Smile

The March '09 KACHING Video + Other Stuff

The March '09 KACHING video can be found here.

I've been having some serious trouble with my left foot again.  I've got a doctor appointment again tomorrow.  It got so painful to where I couldn't close Tuesday night and I was barely able to do some stuff (after cutting a few corners) last night.  It was that bad.  I've tried insoles and steroid pills (by the recommendation of my doctor during my last visit in September '08) and they have just been temporary fixes.

I looked at my left foot after taking off my socks Tuesday night and my left foot was a "darkish" red color (my right foot wasn't nowhere near as red and has never gotten nowhere near as sore or painful as my left).  My brother keeps tells me something about the arch in my left foot was wrong.  I look again last night and it was still a dark red color (like Tuesday night).  However, I'd look at it during the day and it wouldn't look as bad (and not as sore, either).

I would love to have a permanent fix really soon.  I really hope I can get the docotor to do something (or recommend me to someone....and prescribe some more steroid pills temporarily until I can see a specialist or someone who knows about these things).

Until next time, may you win lots of loot and may your feet give you as little trouble as possible. Smile

Entry #115

Well, slow playing is coming to a screeching halt... + a bad day until just now

...at minimum for 3 weeks.  You might ask "Why?"  The answer.........the tobacco mart's (the one I go to near a Goodwill store) lottery license expired.  Yes......the owner let his lottery license expire.  He gave me his business card and told me to call him in 2 to 3 weeks (he said that's how long it usually takes to be approved).

I then go down to the KMart.  The customer service and attitudes there was just flat out awful.......to the point where I emailed the corporate site with a complaint and will be snail mailing a complaint letter to the head manager of that particular store.  I did get some tickets until I finally had enough of the attitudes and walked out.  That will be the last time I ever go to that KMart.  Mad

Afterwards.....I go to a KFC for lunch.  It was good......but I nearly choked on a piece of one of those "Snackers".  After getting some more drink down.....I was able to wash it down.  No harm.....I'm still alive. Razz

After not spending that much money at KMart, I went to a package store on the way home that I usually go by on Saturdays providing that I have money left.  They were closed (don't know why...but there was a notice on the door that they'd be closed today).

I tried another store close to home......it was open and I bought some tickets.  Here's a video of those tickets.

I finally nailed a profit (no picture-worthy winners.....but a couple of nice back-to-back winners) just now (brings the day overall to a profit after breaking even for most of the day and losing a little later on).

Well....what a day.....

Until next time, may your favorite place to play lottery tickets pay attention to the expiration date of its lottery license (and renew in time if needed), have good attitudes, and bring very good luck and lots of winners. Smile
