The KACHING meter.......after nearly 4 and a half years (dating back to an old blog of mine which doesn't exist anymore), I'm retiring it (the meter, not these reports) for the most part.  If I ever hit a winner that requires me to go to a district office or headquarters to claim, I may say something along the lines of "The KACHING Meter reads T-I-L-T!" or "The KACHING Meter just broke because the winnings were so high!"

There may be a chance that, despite playing tickets today, I might slow play tomorrow.  It depends on the weather......my mother doesn't like going out when it's raining a lot (or raining hard).

Until next time, may your fruit and other good symbols win you tons of loot! Smile

The KACHING Report will be delayed + update to my "proposed" challenge idea from a while ago...

The KACHING Report will be delayed slightly today.  I very likely won't be slow playing tomorrow, so I'm getting some tickets today.  I'll more than likely make YouTube videos from those tickets....that's the reason for the delay.

Remember the challenge idea I came up with a while ago in my blog posts (when I got my "lottery selector")?  Well......I've been tinkering around and think I might have come up with an idea that I call "Billionaire Hot Streak".  No, no real money will be awarded in the challenge (which would be a blog challenge).

Here's the details:

You would pick 9 numbers from 1-60.  13 numbers would be drawn.  One way you could win is by matching 0, 5, 6, 7, 8, or all 9 of your numbers.

(Proposed payout structure for the "overall" (0, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 of 13) category):

9 -- $4,000 (odds 1 in 40,515)

8 -- $200 (odds 1 in 2,617)

7 -- $20 (odds 1 in 280.4)

6 -- $7 (odds 1 in 47.9)

5 -- $1 (odds 1 in 12.8)

0 -- $3 (odds 1 in 36.7)

Note that matching overall of the 13 numbers is one way to win.....but, why would I call this "Billionaire Hot Streak" if that's the only way to win (and the payouts as they are)?  You can win if you can put together a "hot streak" starting with the first drawn number and go all the way up to the 9th drawn number (of 13).  Here's what I mean with a proposed payout structure....

Match all 9 of the 1st 9 numbers drawn:  $1,000,000,000 (odds 1 in 14,783,140,000)

Match all 8 of the 1st 8 numbers drawn:  $100,000,000 (odds 1 in 2,558,620,000)

Match all 7 of the 1st 7 numbers drawn:  $10,000,000 (odds 1 in 386,206,920)

Match all 6 of the 1st 6 numbers drawn:  $1,000,000 (odds 1 in 50,063,863)

Match all 5 of the 1st 5 numbers drawn:  $100,000 (odds 1 in 5,461,512)

Match all 4 of the 1st 4 numbers drawn:  $10,000 (odds 1 in 487,635)

Match all 3 of the 1st 3 numbers drawn:  $1,000 (odds 1 in 34,220)

Match both of the 1st 2 numbers drawn:  $100 (odds 1 in 1,770)

Match the 1st number drawn:  $10 (odds 1 in 60)

Now, a "hot streak" MUST start with the 1st number drawn and continue until you get a number that doesn't match what you have on your ticket.  There cannot be any breaks or start with the 2nd number or beyond.  Also, you may match the numbers in any order (they don't have to be in numerical order as on your ticket).

For example:

Your ticket

1-4-7-13-24-39-45-56-60

If the 1st 2 numbers drawn (in order) are 56 and 7.....you'd win $100 for matching the 1st 2 numbers drawn (a "hot streak" of 2).  If all 9 of those numbers on your ticket are the 1st 9 numbers drawn (remember, they can be in any order -- just as long as they are the very 1st 9 numbers drawn), you'd complete the billionaire hot streak of 9 and become a (virtual) billionaire!

BTW, the odds came from here.  For odds that came out in scientific notation, I inputted them (the scientific notation numbers) into Microsoft Excel and that's where I get those odds.  (I hope those odds are right...)

What do you think of the idea?  Are the payouts right?  Too high?  Too low?

Remember....I'm just looking to have fun with this idea.  There won't be any real money payouts or anything like that.

Until next time, may you hit big on your tickets.....or, if you're playing Maddog's challenges, hopefully you'll hit big there too (and if I do decide to go forward with this blog challenge.....please do keep playing Maddog's challenges.....they're awesome. Smile )

New YouTube Video... + Work-related stuff

...of a "big one" from earlier.

One thing that I'll try to do is some different tickets for these videos (instead of multiple videos involving Extreme Green and Fruit Twist tickets).

Well.....I'm back to my usual Sunday-through-Wednesday work week starting tomorrow.  That means I'll have to tape the Nascar races on my VCR again.  (Another employee where I work needed Fridays off for a few weeks....so they swapped him out with me and I worked Fridays on those weeks while he worked Sundays.)

Until next time, may you have better luck and win some dough. Smile

(and I'll go back to watching Butterbean in some boxing matches on ESPN Classic......absolutely nothing else on that I know of....I'll check TV Guide's site after I post this)

The KACHING Meter for March 6, 2009:  29.4

It was a very good week!

I should note that I won't be slow playing tomorrow, as I'll be going out of town shopping.  I'll still buy tickets on the way and all that.....but I won't be doing the whole slow playing routine.

I've got a YouTube video up of some more tickets that I scratched off right here.  I experimented with some stuff to see which way would work out better on some of the tickets.

Until next time, may your fruits and other symbols make your wins much sweeter. Smile

Entry #109

And speaking of oranges...

...there's only 3 orange things I like.......orange Starburst, orange juice (without the pulp), and...

...oranges that win you money.  As for bananas....bleh....they're only good in Donkey Kong games and winning combinations on lottery tickets. Big Grin

(FYI....the tickets are reversed in order of hitting....didn't realize it until I scanned the tickets on my scanner.  The $50 winner came first, then the $24 winner.)

Until next time, may your oranges and other fruits make you richer. Wink

Entry #108

There's only 2 cherry-related things I like...

....cherry-flavored Starburst and....

...cherries that win you some money. Big Grin

This was one of several nice winners I hit on these fruit twist games (they alternate in the roll with Cherry, Lemon, and Orange).  I'll recap the others in next week's KACHING Report and some of them will be in the Feb. '09 KACHING on YouTube, which will be up either tonight or tomorrow.

Until next time, may your fruit sweeten your winnings. Smile

Attention GA instant game players!! + New YouTube Video

First of all, the KACHING Report for today will be posted tomorrow (if LP cooperates).  I plan on buying some tickets today before I go into work.

A bunch of friends of mine have been literally bugging the life out of the GA Lottery asking about detailed instant game odds (not the overall odds of winning....but odds of each prize level on each game).  Well, one of the finally snagged an answer.....

In order to get detailed instant game odds, you must send a letter to the Georgia Lottery and specifically list each and every instant game that you want detailed odds on.  Here's the address you send your request to.....

Georgia Lottery Corporation

Attn:  Public Information

250 Williams Street, Suite 3000

Atlanta, GA 30303

There is no charge for this service, as confirmed by another friend of mine who actually called the GA Lottery.  They don't even require a self-addressed stamped envelope.

As for the YouTube video, it's here.  It's something new I'm trying out.  The first idea, which I tried Wednesday, didn't quite work out as well as I hoped, so I had to do the video in the format that I did in that YouTube video.

Until next time, may you win a bunch of dough. Smile

The KACHING Meter for February 13, 2009:  14.5

Thanks to that $72 winner, the week went from a huge loss to near-breakeven.  I took a beating Saturday.....one of the worst I've had in a while.

Today, I only got to do literally 10 minutes of slow playing......not very much at all.  We were in a rush to go looking around for, of all things, a new (or used) vehicle.  One of the cylinders in my mom's car (which is a 4-cylinder) went kaput.  So....my mom decides to get her another vehicle (but will repair the old car and have it in case of emergencies).  We go all over the place....and finally found a used 2004 Toyota Highlander in very good condition and taken very good care of.  We took it for a test drive and my mom loved it.  I even liked riding in it.....seats were comfortable.....it rode good.....and the back seat had a nice elbow cushion which felt very nice.  She had a chat with the salesperson and then they decided to talk about monthly payments.  She got a quote and decided to go home to think about it.  She wasn't sure she was going to get it or not, despite being the best deal around of all of the "reasonable" vehicles (not too big like a huge 4x4 truck, not too small like a 2-door base model car, and not a vehicle that gets only single-digit miles to the gallon on gas).  Heck, the original factory warranty was still in effect.  I go into work and finish a busy night (with my left foot, because I was on my feet at the car dealerships all day long, being a royal pain in the butt and wanting to hurt really bad).  I call my stepdad after I was done with everything....thinking they were still looking online and calling dealerships to see what kinds of good deals they had.  I was sitting there waiting for my stepdad and my mom to come pick me up from work.  I saw a vehicle come around the corner and stop.  I was telling the manager on duty (a cool guy to talk with) where I work about what we were doing today and looking for another vehicle.  Both of our eyes became wide open.........the vehicle was a dark blue 2004 Toyota Highlander.  My mom, while I was at work, had decided to get it.

Until next time, may you find nice deals and nice winners. Smile

Well, gold is certainly lucky indeed...

Yesterday, I bought some of these and hit a gold bar symbol (I'll talk about that ticket in Friday's KACHING Report).  Today, I buy some, got a gold bar, and hit that monster.  Time to update the "best in category" list again.....

$20:  $100 ($50 + $20 + 3 x $10) on GA Lottery 15th Anniversary Millionaire Extravaganza -- July 2008

$10:  3 $100 winners (1st and 3rd via 5 x $10 + 10 x $5 w/firecracker and 2nd via 4 x Bill $5) on Cash Explosion -- 1st and 2nd in Feb. 2008, 3rd in May 2008

$5:  $60 (15 x $4 w/truck) on $250,000 Cash -- May 2008

$3:  $45 (Double Bill $15 + $9 + $6) on Strike It Rich 2009 -- December 2008 $72 (12 x $6 w/gold bar) on Lucky Gold -- Feb. 2009

$2:  $125 ($100 + $20 + $5) on Loteria -- Jan. 2009

$1:  $100 (Jumbo $20) on Junior Jumbo Bucks -- April 2005

$0.50:  $40 (381 box) on Cash 3 -- October 2008

This is a very welcome change compared to my luck on Saturday.

Until next time, may you hit lucky gold and win a bunch of dough. Smile

Here's some pictures of that new lotto selector thingamajig... + other things

That 1st one just shows the item.  The 2nd one shows it after 12 nmbers have been drawn.  I have a YouTube video of the thing in action here.  I do welcome comments (here on LP as I've disabled comments on YouTube for that video) on how I can possibly get the stuff to show up better (what could I do lighting wise....like turn off my monitor, my bedroom light, etc. or any other suggestion).

Now that I've realized the video capabilities of my digital camera........that might open the door up for some new stuff. Wink

Later on, I'll post some details on my proposed 5/60 blog challenge (which would be a must-match-all-5 game.......fewer balls it takes you to match all 5, the more you win -- few as 5 balls and as many as 12 balls to match all 5).

Update:  The darn thing has decided to quit working on me (thing that turns the plastic cage refuses to turn, despite holding down the buttons and the motor running). Unhappy  Gears or whatever may have messed up or something.  Plus, I've been tinkering around with my game idea and it isn't working out (I've been doing "test runs" of the game idea and decided it's too hard to match all 5.....but I do get close by adding a 13th number).  Back to the ol' drawing board (and in need of a small screwdriver so I can unscrew the thing, open the case, and have a look to see if anything can be done to fix the bloody thing).

Until next time, may you hit all 5 numbers in your pick 5 game. Smile
