Do you tip when you win? Who? How much? Why do you tip?
I used to tip between $10 and $20 but I stopped because a clerk told me that I was 8 cents short for an item and I had always given her tips before . In fact , I had just tipped her a 20 three days before this and yes I was a frequent customer tthat often talked to her.

No, I don't tip and I never had a clerk expect a tip. Also, I haven't really won that much. I'm lucky if I break even on most days.

Do you tip your cashier when you win?
I prefer to tip them when I win big, but I would not if they made me feel obligated or asked for it....that is very rude indeed. And I don't appreciate a clerk who acts like they had something to do with my win either. They neither picked my numbers nor graced me with anything leading to my decisions...My tip would simply be because I liked them or something. I like the clerks who smile and don't act like their face is gonna fall apart because they had to do their job.

Superstitions?
I just know that the games I win on are the smaller ones. Jackpots like PB or MM have such high odds, but I have still won in the hundreds in those games. I wish they would shut up though. But once a clerk gave me a tip about the raffle game and said that winners were going to be in the southern part of the state mostly, definitely not in the pan handle and he was right!

This ever happen to you?
The clerk might have been afraid of being fired. Many stores forbid employees to accept a tip.Or maybe she thought your generosity would jinx her luck. Some folks are very superstitous about things like that.

I don't get it. Maybe Rude cashier?
Some clerks are just idiots playing the role of clerk. I was a clerk a few times, and if someone hit I would not expect a dime. I was there to do my job and sell the tickets, not harrass winner of the lottery. Their tip ain't going to do squat for me anyway. only my winning ticket will do that.

tips to the cashier?
As I already wrote, we've had this discussion several times, but I am posting again to say I like your answer. If a clerk participated in the game (i.e., helped me pick a number) then I certainly would remember him/her. If a clerk performed special services for me then I would definitely tip. I used to think it was an acronym for to insure prompt service but according to Urban Legends, that isn't true. I'm often foolish and tip someone even when I get crummy service! In brief, it's all

As I said in the past many times, screw the clerk they did nothing they were not paid to do. I will give them a tip, get a better job that pays better. You are dirt to them unless of course you win. Everybody wants to jump on that bandwagon. I am too smart for that.

tips to the cashier?
I said NO TIP, no dollars. First, the clerk has nothing to do with you winning the lottery. She puts slips through and presses buttons for QP's. Our lotteries are tax-free, so at tax time what you spend can't be used as for a win/loss. So I would never tip a retailer as they have done nothing and the goverment doesn't reward all the money you lose.

tips to the cashier?
If I hit for $2500 on a single ticket, the person that cashes the ticket( and deducts taxes) will be the lottery clerk at the lottery office. Therefore, no tip.
