Should you tip the clerk who sold you a winning ticket?
Should? Absolutely no. Even if they do give someone a tip, how many times have they given tips that led to no winnings? I bet they didn't give the person any money for the bad tip. I would tip the clerk depending only on who the clerk was. I go to the same store a lot so see the same clerks over and over. If I hit the jackpot I would tip them a good amount, but if it was anyone else then no.

Should you tip the clerk who sold you a winning ticket?
I'd like to know how others feel about this. I was in a store the other day the clerk told me someone gave her $100 of a win they got...she didn't say how much they won I didn't ask but here's my feeling about it. She said she had gotten tips before also. I told her I thought she could buy her own tickets like I have to do. I don't think I should give them anything because they could buy their own scratch cards or p3 tickets or whatever. They did not help me get the win...all they did was sel

Do you tip when you win? Who? How much? Why do you tip?
People should tip if they receive privileges from the store or clerk but in a big win i.e. Jackpot the store will get a commission anyways whether the store will spread the wealth to its employees is another question (I wonder if there's a thread that addresses that...it would be interesting to read what happened behind that kind of scene). When playing roulette in casinos after a win I would place a few bets for the dealer and let them experience the same amount of anticipation as I did during

Do you tip your cashier when you win?
I like that link Four4me. I travel alot and I don't mind tipping people but it looks like I tip too much. As far as a store clerk goes , I don't tip them because they have only inserted a play slip in a machine and gave me the tickets. They didn't help me choose any numbers nor did they pay for any of them. I don't play the same numbers in pick 3 so they are more than welcome to play off of my slip when I leave it or ask if the would throw it away. One store clerk seen I had a 500 dollars win

Do you tip your cashier when you win?
I don't know if such is still the case, but years ago when I went to Tahiti, any tipping at all was illegal. We loved it! I wish such were the case here. I've never won enough to warrant even considering a tip, but no, I wouldn't tip a cashier who put my card through a machine. Like justexploring, most of the time I don't remember which clerk sold me the ticket anyway. Heck, I'm lucky to remember which store I bought the ticket at! The last time I bought a MM ticket, the clerk said, If you

Whats up with store clerks today?
I would definitely ask them how much are they giving me if I do NOT win! Then if I win, how much did you, crass clerk, contribute to the drawslip???? The nerve, that is so very rude. I went to a salon once and the stylist did a horrible job. The cashier asked if I wanted the tip on my credit card. For lack of words I asked rather sharply, It is mandatory! Then I looked over at the stylist and gave him a look like, you should jump up and tell the cashier, I need to have my bill dismissed. His wor

Do You Tip Your Lottery Clerk?
However I perfer to buy tickets when I go to other cities or to West Edmonton Mall..... since I live in a small community. You've got to be kidding. If where you buy the tickets matters, you're either playing QPs or very superstitious. But if you're only buying QPs, there is nothing a clerk could do deserving of a tip so there is no reason to tip unless you consider the clerk part of your hope I get lucky process.

Giving Tips.
My wife hit $200 on a scratcher at a convenience store and she tipped the clerk $10. The one pick 3 we've hit for $290, we tried to tip (grocery store) and the clerk said she couldn't accept it. Sometimes if there's a large jackpot I play a ticket, and then play it again for the clerk- so someone else is 'rooting for' the same numbers! - did that once in Indiana on Powerball, hit 4 of 6 so we both won $110 - not a bad tip for a buck!

Would you "bless" the deli?
When I sold tix for MM or PB jackpots that were high, there were 2 or 3 that told me if they won they would come back and give me $100 or some tip. Frankly, I didn't believe that and didn't give it another thought. And to expect a winner to come back and tip the clerk that pushed a button or ran a playslip on a terminal is rather absurd.

How much should a store clerk be tipped for selling a big winning ticket?
The best tip you can give a clerk that sold you a ticket that won a large jackpot is to check if your former employer will be hiring someone to take your place.
