Going on a road trip
MegaMillions Michigan style? Doesn't Illinois uses the same drawings and have similar payouts? The only difference is Illinois pays the retailers that sell the winning ticket more money. That fact came out when Illinois and Michigan winners shared the biggest lottery (MegaMillions) jackpot ever back in 2000 and the Illinois retailer got $110K and the Michigan retailer got $10K.RJOh

CA=pari-mutuel prizes for MM
MegaMillions States also have different rules for paying the retailer that sells the winning tickets. A few years ago when the BigGame(now MegaMillions) had it largest jackpot, one winner bought his ticket in Illinois and another in Michigan, they both received equal portions of the jackpot but the Illinois retailer got about $100K and the one in Michigan got $1K.

$215 million for Saturday!
In Ohio, I have visited retailer that don't put out play slips until a customer ask for them or don't carry enough money to cash winning lottery tickets over $50. I usually stop buy lottery tickets at those places since I prefer to cash my winning tickets where I buy them. According to the Ohio's website, play slips should be available at each retailer and they should be able to cash winning lottery tickets up to $600.

Lottery RIGGING !!
Yea the information may be cool. But unless you work for a retailer. Your not going to be able to walk into the store and ask the owner what the payout information on his scratch books are.There's all kinds of corruption and nobody said that the lottery cant be rigged. If a retailer has privileged information and gets caught selling whole books of potentially large jackpot winners then he/she might end up in some hot water themselves.

Lottery Player Types.
in PA, they can pay you at the retailer up to $2500.... tey will write you a check for the bigger amounts right up to 2500... My grandfather played a number years back several times straight and boxed for .50 each... the retailer cut him checks for each 2500 straight hit and paid him cash for the boxed hits. Had he played them st/box for $1, he would have had to claim them at a regional lottery office... he was a wise man!

Can Free Ticket redeem for Cash? (CA)
Must be legal because the retailer I buy from lets anyone trade in Scratcher free tickets for equivalent cash. I think it depends on how stingy the retailer is. Some are so hell-bent on following rules that they won't do it I suppose.

Bogus TV News Draws
there are too many places to check...Internet (lottery websites for the states and right here at the LP), newspaper, T.V. (news and actual drawings... not around for a draw? TiVO !), retailer...I never discard tickets until I check them at the websites (PA lottery at http://www.palottery.com and Powerball at http://www.powerball.com ) AND at the retailer. I also watch the PB drawings on their website (and on TiVO when I can't be there to watch live).

Pa Lotto To Install 1,000 Self-Serve Term
Quote: Originally posted by hypersoniq on May 20, 2004Can't wait to see them!looks good! Interesting how the will pay you up to $500 in winning vouchers ... I still would rather go to a real retailer for that...Apparently, a voucher will be dispensed to be cashed by a retailer. Or it can be used to buy more tickets.

Closest powerball state to New Jersey??
What city are you located in? If you have been to Pennsylvania before, just go here http://www.palottery.com/lottery/PALotto/retailerList.asp?lotteryNav=29736| and then type the name of the city. It will give you all the retailers in that city. Once you have the address of the retailer, head on over to maps.yahoo.com, click on driving directions on the top, and get driving directions to the retailer. Its that simple.Good luck for the drawing.
