If I win, how 'bout I treat you to my nice 2008 Honda CRV (it's good on gas, and besides, you'll need an economical vehicle with oil going up to 100+ bucks a barrel), and I get the Porshe? If I drive around in a Porshe, I will have to stop my jaunts to "da Bronx" for lottery tickets, I might get carjacked!
Know what Jacal?
The price of oil aint stoppin at 100 bucks a barrel......... (and I dont mean it's goin down either) You can keep the CRV, we've got a 2007 Civic.
If you think about it a bit, a barrel of crude holds 55 gallons. So at $110 dollars the barrel, it's $2.00 a gallon, just for the crude. Add on the refining charges, Federal and State taxes, and the profit Mobil wants to make on each gallon, and $4.00 a gallon at the pump will look cheap!
How about we share the Porshe? You can have it every Monday, except for holidays. And if I ever catch you in da Bronx with it................. Your heirs will be reading about me in The New York Post.
PS I just checked my PB numbers... they stunk.
And one more thing. Today's Thursday. You got any SM numbers??

Correction, the winning ticket was a $5 QUICK PICK. I do not know whether the person spent $10, $20, $30 etc. But the winning ticket was a $5 QUICK PICK TICKET. The winning set was line A on the $5 QUICK PICK. The ticket that i saw on the outside window was some other ticket.I know for certain that it was a $5 QUICK PICK TICKET because i went inside the store and played some mega millions and powerball quick pick. The funny thing is that the guy inside the store thought that i came from hell because my face was not familiar to him. That's what fame brings, when i went inside the store everybody paused in time. I took out a pack of money out of my pocket and everybody breathed again.MONEY IS A POWERFUL THING IN OUR PLANET. IT BRINGS PEACE OF MIND IN MOST SITUATIONS . The funny thing is that i went inside the store to see the actual copy of the winning ticket, once i realized my mistake. I do not buy tickets in a store because someone won big in that particular store. When it is your time to win, you will win in any store you play. IT IS ALL ABOUT RANDOM LUCK.Good luck everybody.

And one more thing. Today's Thursday. You got any SM numbers??
I have been busy this week with kiddies off from school on winter break, and I promised my neice and nephew I would take them places, so I haven't been on-line too much this week.
My Wednesday Power Ball numbers stunk too, along with my MM last night, and along with my SM numbers on Thursday, I splurged with a $20 play on SM Thursday, but I didn't win anything, I bought the $5 QP in "da Bronx" and did 3 $5 cards with my picks. (I noticed in a few stores I was in that the players were requesting the $5 QP. I wonder if players are waiting for the promo to play SM, and don't play a lot on the non-promo weeks). I had five lines with 2 numbers but missing the 3 number by one, but some of the numbers that came out did make sense (SM - 3, 4, 10, 14, 25 and 30) because 3 and 4 were on the cold list, 10 came out in the prior drawing, 14 and 25 I have no explaination for, but 25 is my birthday and I always throw it in on some lines, and 30 is on the hot list. I gave heavier play to the teen two number sequences, (12,13-14,15,-18,19) etc. but it cost me this time because a low number sequence came out instead (the 3 and 4), I had 3 and 4 on some lines, but not together, I played 10 from the prior drawing, and 30 from the hot list.
I noticed that the million dollar winner (QP) was from Queens, so I play in the correct city, but in the wrong borough (lol)! I told my friend where I go in da Bronx to get my tickets, and he kept saying, "I can't believe you go there, there are shootings and everything else going on there," etc. etc., and to tell you guys the truth, I didn't think it was that bad over there, it's not that far from the Westchester border.
I have two PB with the PP QP's for tonight, I might take another shot at picking my own numbers on one more PB ticket for tonight, but the last time I picked PB numbers it was a disaster.
GiveFive: When you post your TakeFive numbers prior to the drawing, I'll post my SM numbers, is that a deal??? Does the Porshe have a sun roof? I always had my eye on the Lexus IS with the retractable roof.
Whenever I mention to my relatives that I play the lottery, they all say, "I hope you share if you win", but they never offer me any money to play the lotteries, they want to share in the win, but not be burdened risking any money, they want me to risk all MY money (lol)!

What you've confirmed is that the SM JP winner bought the "3-free" promotion, but they didnt win with the 3 free QP ticket.
I tend to agree, there's no use buying in a store where somebody won a JP. That said, there's a deli in Somers NY where multiple Lotto JP winners have been sold.
So did those dudes think you were a homeless guy until they saw your wad of cash???? And walkin around in Washington Heights with a roll of cash on you may not be such a hot idea! Good way to get mugged! And they'd take your lottery tix too!

Lately I havent been posting my Take5 numbers before the drawing. Maybe somebody would play them, and I dont care if they do. The only thing is, the Take5 JP normally gets busted up multiple ways, so if I hit and somebody played the numbers I posted, then it would dilute the JP even more. That's a longshot, but it could happen. There arent that many people reading/posting here, and those that do play their own numbers. I've never played anybody else's numbers I've seen in this forum.
My guess is the SM promo is promting a little more than the usual number of players to bet more money on SM. Once the promo is over, my guess is the total dollar amount of ticket sales will return to what it was prior to the promotion. In other words, players that regularly play SM are betting in 5 dollar increments to take advantage of the promo (I'm in that group because I usually only bet a dollar or two), and possibly an additional group of players who dont normally play SM have bought SM tickets because of the promo. And that's the group of players NY wants to attract. They already have us players that play SM for a couple of bucks a week. They need more new players to play regularly so as to increase "coverage" of the possible 3.8 million combinations of six numbers so as to produce more JP winners.
When you think about it PB and MM have a coverage problem too. But they're national in scope, and that's what keeps those jackpot games around. Usually when the MM or PB JP's are "small" there is no JP winner, which causes the JP to grow. Because PB has 195 million to one odd's, when the JP is small, people arent as enthusiastic about buying a ticket, and if they do, they dont spend much on it. But let the PB JP get to 184 million like it is now, and ticket sales become smokin' hot! Not only do more people play, but those playing spend more on tickets too.
The New York Lottery can tell if the SM promo has increased sales just by looking at the number of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 dollar tickets that were sold. They're probably seeing an uptick in the sales of those tickets, which would be caused by the promo.
Geesh Jacal!! I dont know what options The Porshe has!! YOU won, YOU gotta buy it and tell ME what YOU bought! I cant afford a Porsche..... It should be firetruck red though.... and if you can wangle a sun-roof, that's fine.

BTW Jacal,
I'm sure my relatives (and friends) all think I'm nuts for playing the lottery regularly, and I'm OK with that. On the former NY State Lottery website, there was a section called "Recent Winners". Did you ever look at the pictures of people that appeared there? Did you notice that they were/are everyday, average, typical, normal folks just like you??? Yes, they were very lucky, but they are just like you and me. There are millions of everyday people that play the lottery all over the USA, and they aint much different than you or me. And they all share the dream, or they wouldnt play.
If I win a big amount of money, I'm sure my relatives will think differently. I play regularly because I have a nephew (who I know is nuts!) that won a Take5 JP in April of 2009. He's the very reason why I started playing regularly. Prior to April of '09, I only played the lottery every now and then, and I did the obligatory thing by joining a MM pool at work.
My nephew told me he's been playing online games and scratch-off's for twenty years or more. He split a $68,000 JP four ways, so he grossed $17,000. Minus the taxes, he got just under $12,000. All he did was fill up his gas tank. The gas was $19.00, so he paid for it with a twenty dollar bill. He told the clerk to "Gimme a Take5 QP with the change." The next day he had $12,000 more than he had the day he bought gas. He also said that after playing regularly for 20 plus years, and even though he won $12,000, he still has lost more money than he's won. He's still playing the lottery. Does he have a gambling problem? Maybe he does, I dont know.
As for me, I make it a point NOT to play everyday. I never spend more than I can afford to lose. I'm having a lot of fun playing, and I actually think that if I should win a large prize, I'll be a little diappointed because the thrill of the chase will be gone. I try to keep playing the lottery in the proper perspective. I dont say to people "I'm gonna win a Jackpot!" If I say anything about that to anybody, I simply say "I hope I win a jackpot" and let it go at that. Just as my tagline indicates, I know it's not very likely I'll win a JP, but it is possible. I do know I'll never win a JP if I dont play.

How 'bout I post the all the numbers I pick from and share some of Gail Howards' tips, and you can choose what numbers to play?
SM Hot Numbers last 50 draws: 30, 31, 18, 28, 02, 35,
" Cold " " " " 29, 09, 03, 37, 34, 20
" Overdue " " " 34, 08, 07,36, 37, 20
SM Winning Numbers on Thursday: 03, 04, 10, 14, 25, 30
SM Winning Numbers Past Weeks: 10, 27, 30, 38, 39, 40
11, 18, 24, 26, 28, 38
02, 12, 13, 16, 25, 26,
06, 18, 19, 21, 30, 38
Pick one number from the prior drawing (I picked 10 on Thurs, because it came out in the prior drawing), pick a two number teen sequence (like 12,13 or 18, 19 etc.), pick numbers from five or four drawings back which have NOT repeated up to the latest drawing (in this case, Thurs)., don't pick more than two numbers with the same last digit, like 04,14,24,34,), don't pick all odd or all even, pick number groups with the same number of digits that come out most often (ex. 2 numbers in teens, 2 numbers in 20's, two numbers in 30's), pick one or two from hot and overdue list.
I made a mistake on my prior post, 3 and 4 from Thursday's drawing were on the OVERDUE list, not the cold list, I usually pick from the overdue list, not the cold list.
Well, there you have it, these are numbers I will be picking from for SM on Monday, and the Gail Howard tips I am following, but on a few lines I play, I don't follow the tips and play family birthdays instead.
Let's see how you do, GIVEFIVE, maybe you will pick 'em better than me.
BTW, did you nephew share any of his winnings with you?

You're Welcome, I'm glad you found the SM numbers I posted useful, good luck on tonight's drawing, the last night of the Feb. promo! The tips are only basic guidelines, I might pick 2 from the overdue list and 1 from the hot list or vice versa, I don't stick to the tips exactly the way I posted them all the time. I have to run and pick my SM numbers for tonight.....GLTA

Hey Jacal!
Here's an interesting stat for you:
Only on 15% of all winning Powerball tickets did the player buy the Power Play.
That means 85% of the time when somebody buys a PB ticket, they DONT buy the Power Play.
I wonder why that is?? I guess it's either people dont generally know about the Power Play option, or they're just too cheap to lay down the extra buck. I bet it must really suck when they find out they won $200,000 and for one measly dollar more, they could have had $1,000,000. One dollar gets you an extra 800 Grand. I dont think I wanna know what that feels like............

I read that too! I have been posting all along about the players that screwed themselves out of a million by not spending the extra dollar. One day I was in the store and another PB player heard me ask for the Power Play, so he asked me what it was. He really didn't understand what I was explaining to him about the Power Play, but he said to the store clerk, "Give me the Powerball ticket just like she says, " Smart man........ I bought a PB/PP QP in Eastchester on Wed. and I had one number, missed two numbers by one, and missed the PB number by one.
I really think most players don't understand what the PB Power Play or MM Multiplier does, at least in NY they don't!
Good luck on SM tonight, I didn't get to "da Bronx" today, maybe "Yonkiss" will bring me some luck tonight on the "three free." I picked the other numbers. We'll see soon enough if I can end my one drawing losing streak of last Thursday. I am sorry to see the promo end tonight.

Have you ever noticed that elderly people make up a very large segment of the lottery playing public?
Check out the "Winners Stories" section of The NYS Lottery's website. The latest story's out there have 3 big prize winners. Their ages? 81, 70 & 65.
I was in a convenience store the other day, and a very dapper looking elderly man standing at the next counter asked for a Win For Life scratch off. He was dressed very nicely, and was obviously of retirement age. My guess was he was in his middle to upper 70's. I smiled to myself, because I liked the fact that the old gent was optimistic enough to believe he was gonna live many more years. Why else would he buy Win for Life???? Lets face it, if he has 10 years left to live, he wouldnt collect as much as a 30 or 40 something might. But then who the hell knows. Nobody has a lock on tomorrow. Not even me.
Keep playing guys, keep playing. I am. GF

Lets face it, if he has 10 years left to live, he wouldnt collect as much as a 30 or 40 something might. But then who the hell knows. Nobody has a lock on tomorrow. Not even me.
Keep playing guys, keep playing. I am. GF
The elderly are the only ones who have money to gamble with their social secuity checks, everyone else is out of work!
I broke my one drawing losing streak last night on the "three free" line, I won $3.00.
The SM numbers (2,13,17,21,26,31) weren't bad last night, two came from the hot numbers (2,31), one came from 5 rows back with no repeats up to the lastest drawing (21), and one came from 4 rows back with no repeats (26). My closest picks to the winning numbers was: 6,14,20,26,31,37.
So the SM tips I posted previously worked on four numbers last night (2,21,26, and 31), I hope some of you guys played them on the correct lines and won some money, I didn't put them together correctly. I wonder if my picks influenced the way the "three free" came out of the computer to win me $3.00?
18 was on the hot list, so I paired it with 19 on another line (playing 18,19), if I paired it with 17 instead (playing 17,18), I would have won another $3.00, I played 18, 19 because it came out more often than 17, 18, my picks (2,4,18,19,21,35).
