Pay/Hire Close Friends after Jackpot
The IRS won't necessarily believe that somebody else owned a share of the ticket before the drawing took place. Especially if you try to split it such that everybody doesn't have equal shares you may have problems. If somebody wants to give $100,000 to somebody it will probbaly be better to make it a gift and paty the taxes rather than hire tham as an employee. If you pay them $100,000 you'd each pay social security tax, and the recipient would have an additional $100,00 in taxable income.

PB Challenge 8/5
Unless he had something in writing, how can anyone in their right mind expect more ? 10G is a helluva lot better than ZILCH, after all, it appears he had none of his own money in it. Just another example of a lousy person crying to the legal system, he should have known this would happen IF a client won. He should have had a written a contract for all to sign stating he was entitled to X dollars or X percent for any amount over X dollars won by any of the folks he was buying tickets

Anyone else thinking of Euromillions?

I don't know if corporations or trusts can claim tickets in the UK or not. I do know that if the winner is from the UK then they get to meet with some advisors as part of the win. You would have to consult an international tax advisor here in the states.Any transfer of money, even on a debit card, could be a big problem if it's not d

Lotto Texas - World's Worst Jackpot Game?
The Lotto Jackpot has been hit twice recently, paying $4 million. Hard to believe that the game was so difficult to win for such a long time and then, wham, 2 jackpot hits in a row.The Texas jackpot game was introduced in order to increase profits. The TLC estimated that 5 to 10 million tickets would be sold every draw. Unfortunately, only the poor and the stupid played a game they were not likely to win.Without admitting defeat, the TLC started looking around. They got a powerful state official

Powerball as you have never seen it
RJOh,I had this idea in 1996 with the old Super Lotto 6/47 game. I wrote the Ohio Lottery Commission and ask them their thoughts. I got a nice letter back from the Chief Legal Council of the OLC. She told me where I could look in the ORC (Ohio Revised Code) 3770 dot something, you know how state laws are section this or that. Any way this is what she pointed out.Block Bet.......A block bet can occur one of two ways. Either I am standing in line with a large sum of money and play slips and prdven

Pennsylvania Treasure Hunt
My typical workout takes 3 hours long. Sometimes I go over. It is NOT good. After my Smart Luck madness, weighting the scoreboard, printing out my graph papers, running the macros, coloring the patterns, I came up what I think will hit within the next 3 drawings. I was not sure, so I did a super crazy century workout, meaning it is a workout that can only be done once every 100 years because it is so intense and insane with extreme chart cross referencing. And the go to combination f

NY Sweet Millions
Mink, I thought about the exact same thing this morning..... I'll tell you why I didn't do it, but you gotta promise you wont laugh me off this board! It's all my 24 year old daughters fault. She was home for the holiday weekend. She's my older daughter that lives in Manhattan and graduated from college in 2012. She majored in math while in college. I told that brainiac how SM is ending on June 30th, and that the Excel spreadsheet I made shows nine numbers at nine times drawn in 2014. I
