Megamillions and Powerball Games
Derivatives are basically insurance. They are contracts with counterparties, not the general public. Having insurance on your car or house is the same as having a derivative. If the counterparty can't pay the obligation on the contract, they default and ultimately, that's when the public gets screwed. So it's the counterparty's fault, not the instrument's. That's like blaming the toilet for overflowing when you're the one who clogged it up. Anyway, derivatives can be very useful, even for the li

Workplace Lottery Pool Contract...
Just some thoughts here. Be sure to add sections to address legal issues you have seen pop of with other group winners. 1.) When it the money due for each member to be in the pool? If your money is not in my hands by 5 PM on the the date of the lottery, then you are not in the group for that drawing. Identify the point of contact and one alternate for all transactions. 2.) Do you want to assume someone wanted to be in the pool if they are out ? Probably not. Creates too many issues.

Top 10 "Reasons" why the Powerball Lottery is a scam...!
Hmmmmm....so you are saying when the odds are overwhelmingly in the PB's favor thats not cheating? What if the casinos had these odds? You know what would happen, right? They'd be out of business...!!!! Keep in mind that the GOVT can get away with anything simply because they make up the rules whether it be legal or illegal...you however as an individual cannot though.. The question you need to ask yourself is that : are you willing to acknowledge this as normal because it is the G

New Jackpot Winners
I'm inclined to agree with Guru on this one. Bunky is obviously an extrovert and if he wants to tell the whole world about his win, so be it. He can move, change his telephone number and just say no frequently. I'm an introvert and as an older woman often alone, I'd prefer to have anonymity if that were an option. Unfortunely, in my state even if the ticket is claimed by a trust or other legal entity the lottery director can require a press conference and can require that those benefited

Wonder where the other half of 390 mill is?
Most people don't expect to win that much money so even the cash or annuity option would depend on when it happened. We could discuss the pros and cons of either but the only opinion that counts is the ticket holder and we know that Nabors already made up his mind. State lottery commissions have already cashed multi-million dollar tickets so most legal questions have been asked and answered but it would still be a good idea to have your lawyer present. It's the lottery's job to write the chec
