Geez Jacal.... you better put your readin' glasses on!! But then, I wasnt too clear about what I meant either.....
What I wuz tryin' to say is I wuz gonna buy 5 lines all on one ticket!!!
Actually, your idea of buying 5 separate tix aint all that bad. But!! Sooner or later I'd have to cash in a multiple number of them, cuz after a year goes by, and I aint claimed them tix, I'd be toast!!!
I think it's gonna be a little weird looking at my SM ticket with all five lines being identical. Probably gonna go buy it today. I won $19.50 Thursday nite playing Take5, so I'll buy the SM promo with NY's money!!

I knew what you meant, but I was trying to get you to buy five separate tickets with the same number, so you could claim some tickets this year and some tickets next year (lol), but you got the hint, but then your picture wouldn't be on the NY Lottery web-site as the five million dollar winner if you wait until after January 1, 2012 to claim some of the tickets.
So, what do you think of my succes in winning something in 3 out of 4 SM drawings so far during promo month picking my own numbers? Do you think my newly acquired SM number picking skills are so great, or it's just the luck of the draw? Coming out a winner 3 out of 4 times seems to me that I am doing something right with my number picking that is working to throw the odds of winning more in my favor. What do you think?
Darn it! Now I can't post my picks here before the SM drawing, you might steal them and play $5.00 and I would be screwed out of the million being the sixth winner, and I would have to split the 5 million with you, and you would still be a multi-millionaire with your five tickets, but I wouldn't (lol)!
Did you hear the winner of half of the last big 360+ million jackpot (I forgot if it was PB or MM, it was the guy who won out west someplace), say that he always played the same numbers and he should have put 2 dollars on those same numbers so he would have won more of the jackpot that he had to split with someone? Wow, that's greedy!
Congrats on your Take5 win, you are catching up to me in winnings for Feb.
BTW, I tried my number picking skills on Power Ball on Wednesday, and I had the first number under 10, and the second number in the teens, just like the Powerball winning numbers, had but I didn't match, and then I considered playing number 23, but then changed my mind and crossed it off my list, but number 23 came out, so I am a little encouraged now about analyzing the Power Ball numbers today after I finish this post. I'll just have to hire someone to clean my house so I will have time to analyze all the lottery games!

Well, Jacal, I dunno what to think about your SM success of late....
Either you're skills are real good, or you're darn lucky! One or the other. Either way, you bet your boots I'd steal your numbers if you post 'em here!
I went ahead and bought the same 5 lines on one ticket. It looks weird!!! Got me the three-free too.
Lately, I've been taking a little harder look at the SM numbers. Usually with SM, I just do QP's and P-QP's. Today when I picked my numbers for Monday's drawing, I used the numbers analysis on the US Lotteries website. I manually study and track the Take5 numbers because IMHO tracking/trending five numbers is easier. Adding that 6th number for SM does make a difference. I could buy some lottery software, but I see no point in paying for software to track and trend numbers. If I did buy any software, it'd only be Gail Howard's. And even then, before I'd buy her software, I'd buy her Lotto Master book. But I'm not sure if I even want to pay for that...
I dont **think** I've done too badly on my own. I've managed to win with 3 numbers in T5 a total of 19 times since April of 2009 when I started playing regularly and tracking numbers. The thing is, I've never hit 4 numbers in T5. I suppose I could have hit more times had I bought more tickets, but I only play what I think I can afford to lose. I've seen some people walk away from the lottery terminal with a stack of tickets two inches thick. If they can afford to do that, more power to 'em. But sometimes when I take a good look at the person, I'm not so sure they can.
I spend too much time on T5 as it is, so to track/trend both SM and T5 would be too much. I could switch to tracking just SM, but I dunno if I want to switch because I've been doing T5 for a couple of years. It must be in my blood or sumthin.
I may even jump on PB tonite, but I'm not going to bother tracking/trending it. My college aged kids think I'm nuts when I tell them that I believe I'll win a JP someday. But I do believe it. It may take a very long time to do it, but I plan to continue on buying lottery tickets. The man that recently wont a big JP in Michigan said he had been playing for 35 years and never won anything but small prizes. He also said he believed persistence would pay off. I bet people thought he was nuts too. I dont expect to win a JP each time I buy a ticket. I know that a lot more losers are sold than are winners. So I just buy the ticket and hope for the best, knowing it probably wont be a winner. I'm pleasantly surprised when I do win, even it's a trivial amount of money.

I didn't realize you had so much success in the picking Take5, Give5, that's great! Maybe I should be stealing your T5 numbers (lol)!
Last Monday I went out to eat breakfast with my Mom and two male friends, so I told one of the guys (he lost his job) about my recent luck at number picking with SM, and I took my picks out to fill in the SM card. I told him to feel free to copy my numbers and play all of them, some of them, or none of them. Guess what he did? He played all my numbers, but in the NY Lotto drawing on Wed., not SM! Monday is the day I lost on all five lines, but I had all the SM numbers on the first three lines, so I felt bad that on the day I showed someone my numbers they didn't win, but I found out yesterday that he played them in the wrong drawing anyway (what a dummy he was), and I told him many times the numbers were for SM! That's the real reason why I wouldn't post my numbers prior to the SM drawing, I would feel terrible if anyone spent a dollar on my picks and they didn't come out. like I was worried when my friend played my numbers, I didn't realize I would react so emotionally after I gave my SM picks to him.
Yestereday when I told my brother about my recent SM success, he said, "tell me your system works when you win the million!" So I confidently said, "I will win it, you'll see" (lol). I hate when people don't give you any credit for doing something right, even if it's partially right. That's like the mentality some Amercians have with our sports stars, if they aren't ranked #1, then they are a failure, no matter how much success they have in their sport.
With SM, I am following Gail Howard's strategy (I posted her SM strategy page somewhere in this thread) combined with the SM smart picks (hot, cold, and overdue numbers) from the <snip> web-site, and I take into consideration the numbers that have come out in the last 5 or 6 draws and pick accordingly. I thought about getting SM software, but now that I got used to my system and it's been successful so far in returning money to me, I don't want to switch to a software system using different criteria than I am.
I didn't get a chance to analyze PB yesterday, I had to go to Sears and buy two new ovens for my house, both of them broke around the same time, and Sears has a great sale going on now on Kenmore appliances. I was going to buy GE Profile, but after I researched I found out that GE manufacturers Kenmore anyway, and Kenmore ovens are a lot cheaper, so I got the cheaper Kenmore brand with the 5 year warranty, just in case I have problems with them. Until I win the lottery, I will always buy the cheaper brands and pay for the 5 year warranty (lol).

If it was my brother, I'd have told him "Well my brother, you'll see and you wont see after I win."
"You'll see my smilin' face on The NY Lottery's website, but you wont see one thin dime of it!"
He wont be worried about when you say that to him, but should it happen, he'll have lots of second thoughts......

Good God!!
How UGLY were last nite's SM numbers????? 10 27 30 38 39 40
Look at that three in a row!!! A 2/4 odd/even split, too many numbers in the thirties, sum was 184 (usually a sum of 125 is good) They dont get any uglier than that.
I'm willing to bet even Jacal didnt have any numbers!
I'm also willing to be there wont be a JP winner too. The 3 free promo aint helpin much.

Nope Kapla, I am happy to say you are wrong (lol), I had 3 numbers on two lines for another $6.00 with my picks! I picked 7 lines this time, not five, and my Mom picked 3 lines (she forgot about the promo and didn't pick 5 lines, so I picked the other two and luckily one of those lines was a winner). The "three free" from the both five dollar cards were losers. I had 10, 30, and 38 on one line, and 27, 38, 40 on the other line.
But I agree with you that the numbers weren't the normal SM pattern that usually comes out. I picked 27 because it was on the overdue list, 10 came out several drawings back and I thought it might come out yesterday, and 38 came out in the prior drawing, I usually pick one number from the prior drawing, and 30 is on the hot list. I played 39 and 40 because they came out in recent previous weeks, I had all the numbers that came out last night on the 7 lines I picked, I just didn't have them all on the same line because I went with the usual patterns that didn't come out last night (for example, I would have never put 38, 39, and 40 together), and I played several two sequence teen number combos usually come out but didn't last night (18,19-12,13. etc)
I am telling you guys all my number picking secrets, you should be winning more (lol), actually I am just following Gail Howard's tips on how to win Sweet Million, with a focus on recent numbers that have come out, keeping in mind hot and overdue SM numbers that you can find on-line.
So now I am a winner in 3 out of 4 drawings, I hope this keeps up, and I give you guys lots of credit for my recent wins, it was your previous posts suggesting that I pick my own numbers instead of buying quick picks all the time that convinced me to try it and I am doing much better at winning, thanks so much, I'm having lots of fun with this!

Ya know Jacal,
The way you're winnin' Sweet Million so much lately, I think I'm related to you!!
And...... if you hit for a Mil, I KNOW I'm related to you!!!!
Yeah....that's it! My old Cuzzin Jacal!!! I havent seen Jacal in years!!! But it'll sure be good to see her again after she hit's for a million bucks!

On February 14, I selected my own Sweet Million numbers based upon a very rudimentary analysis of frequency of numbers (primarily grouping those that hit about the same number of times), least drawn, most drawn, et al.; I am limited in technical expertise and don't have any particular spreadsheet or other computer skills. The following are my seven self-pick lines as well as a quick pick on the sixth of eight lines:
4, 12, 18, 24, 31, 38
6, 7, 9, 15, 24, 34
11, 21, 26, 28, 30, 40
2, 10, 16, 17, 33, 39
8, 13, 24, 30, 34, 40
10, 13, 22, 29, 31, 39 (qp)
4, 9, 18, 27, 33, 39
1, 13, 22, 29, 36, 39
Although I had four of six numbers on that ticket for Feb. 14 (2, 12, 13, 16), I didn't win anything (no surprise, I don't have a history of wins). I did not play this ticket after the 14th drawing (generally I only play a $1 qp per drawing just to catch lightening in the bottle or play a self pick and quick pick). For the Feb. 17 drawing all six drawn numbers were on this ticket, on two lines no less (18, 24, 38 on the first line and 11, 26, 28 on the third line). So if I had played this ticket, I would have won $6 while the cost would have been $8, but if I would have played all possible combinations of these numbers I would have won a cool million. I found this curious and disappointing but knew I would not have played this way so did not get overly pissed. Imagine my surprise when checking this same ticket after the 21st drawing (not played again) and found that all six numbers were on this ticket (38 on 1st line, 30 and 40 on third line and fifth line, 10 on the fourth as well as qp line, 27 on seventh line, and 39 on mulitple lines). So if I would have wheeled all possible combinations of these numbers, I would have had won each of the last two drawings. Can someone tell me how much it would have cost to play all possible combinations so I can feel truly sick about this (the qp line doesn't need to be included as it was not relevant to the draw on the 17th or 21st)? I have been playing various NY lottery drawings for 32 years (since turning 18) and know this is a freak thing and not because I've developed skills. Thanks.
Generally, I only play a $1.00 qp for each sweet million drawing just to be in the game or may pick one line of my own numbers.

Inasmuch as this seemed remarkable to me, upon further thought, it would seem I had so many different numbers that it would not have been feasible to play all the combos. I determined I had 30 of the 40 game numbers covered in my seven self pick games- not so odd that I would have a lot of numbers covered! Even if I were to have only had the sixteen unique numbers that were in the drawings on the 14th, 17th, & 21st (Nos. 26 and 38 were repeats), playing all the possible combos of even those 16 would be prohibitive. Upon first blush it appeared as if I'd missed an opportunity (or two) for a big win, but seemingly not the case. I guess another way to look at it would be if I played seven, six number games on one play card and started at #1 and went consecutive to the end to #40 (with two extra numbers to play in the seventh game), I would always have all the numbers drawn for any game on that single play card. Back to the drawing board!

Well, I did it....
It's Wednesday, so I jumped on The PowerBall!!
I even banged-in on The Power Play. Got me a $1 QP with The PP, cost me a whoppin' two bucks.
I know this is The SM thread of The Jackpot Games Forum, but that dont make no neverminds to me!!!
GiveFive,
I'm glad you got the Power Play, it would be a shame not to win a million for five numbers. I picked out most of my Power Ball numbers except for two QP's, so I am anxious to see the results of the drawing tonight. Past Power Balll numbers don't seem to fit into many playable patterns like SM numbers do, I think it's because there are more numbers in the PB drawing. Now I have to pick out my digits for SM tomorrow, I feel under pressure to keep up my SM winning streak (lol), and with only two more promo drawings remaining this month, it will be harder for me to keep winning something in March if the promo ends, but I only won $3.00 on one freebie line this month, the rest of the winnings were my picks.
Good luck on PB tonight and I hope you win something BIG!

If I win, how 'bout I treat you to my nice 2008 Honda CRV (it's good on gas, and besides, you'll need an economical vehicle with oil going up to 100+ bucks a barrel), and I get the Porshe? If I drive around in a Porshe, I will have to stop my jaunts to "da Bronx" for lottery tickets, I might get carjacked!
