Good for you, I'm so happy you won, you can put that money into tonight's drawing and play 8 lines on me with the $5.00 that I contributed to the SM pool Thursday night!

I babysit kids from Rochester, and they talk about Wegman's, otherwise I wouldn't know what Wegman's is, I don't buy my tickets in the supermarket, it doesn't feel lucky to me, but I have been wrong before since I haven't won a big jackpot yet, or even a small jackpot (lol).

Enjoy my 5 bucks. ....talk about a transfer of wealth! (lol)

Well Jacal, you're a tad late.....

Ya see, I was in Geneseo Friday morning where I cashed in the SM ticket I bought on Thursday (in Corning NY) and then hit the Geneseo Wegman's for $5 of Take5.  Then it was on to Syracuse where I stopped at another Wegman's for five more bucks of Take5.  Headed east on the Thruway and stopped in Albany for dinner. We checked out the NY Football Giants training camp at U Albany, and then put the hammer down for The Hudson Valley.

Until last Thursday, I was never in a Wegman's either.  I was very pleasantly surprised.  It's a "Stew Leonards" kind of grocery store.  (Stew L's is located in Danbury and Norwalk and is worth the trip from the NYC metro area)  It was crowded too, just like Stew Leonards.

Supermarkets dont make no neverminds to me!  I love to buy tix at a Stop & Shop near me.  I take all those empty soda and water bottles my family downs to the S&S, put 'em in the machine, and then go in the store and get me what I call "free" lottery tix!  Wasn't too many of my nickels to begin with ya understand....

Does anybody know what time of day the Sweet Millions drawings are held?

Tonite at about 9:45, I went into a store to buy Take5.  I decided to play $1 QP SM too, so I asked for the ticket.  The clerk said "That'll have to be for Thursday nights drawing.  The terminal is shut off after 9 PM for SM."

The only thing I can figure is the drawing must be held earlier than Take5 which is at 11:21 PM.  I know they dont televise SM like they do the other drawings, and you can view it online at The NY Lottery's website.l

I've been in all the Stew Leonard's stores you mentioned, and I've been to their Yonkers store.  I drink a white wine that is not available for retail sale in NY, so I have to go to Stew Lenoard's liquor store in Danbury to buy it, so I make the wine buying Danbury trip every few months, it gives me an excuse to eat at Down the Hatch on Candlewood Lake.  I was thinking about driving to Greenwich, Conn. today, maybe I'll get my MM and PB over there and throw in a few Ct. lottery tickets, maybe my luck will change if I change my lottery buying routine.

My friend's son lives in Latham, and she was talking about going over to the Giants training camp.  I'm strictly a Jets fan,  I don't even know who won the pre-season game last night, I don't watch the pre-season.

Good luck in and out of Stop and Shop!

I just checked my Power Ball ticket from last Saturday night and I had two numbers plus the PB number for $7.00, two of the losing numbers on my ticket were very close to the winning numbers, if those two numbers turned over my way, I would have won $10,000 and I only purchased one ticket.  It just goes to show you a lucky set of numbers can turn up anytime, to anyone, even if you only spend one dollar, as Thrifty always says.

            Stew's got a store in "Yon-kiss"?

Try Chucks Steakhouse in Danbury, not far from Stew's.  Bring your pocketbook though. You wont be disappointed.  I'll have to try Down the Hatch. My daughter is a student at Fairfield University so my wife and I get over to CT fairly often, but we dont go up to Candlewood because Chucks is on the way to Fairfield.

            The J - E - T - S  Jets! Jets! Jets!   Lost! Lost! Lost!  31 - 16

Giants training camp at UAlbany is fun.  They'll try to rob you $10 to park, but there are loads of places to park where they dont charge.  You have to walk a little farther to the practice fields. (maybe 100 yards farther, but I'd walk 100 yards for 10 bucks)

That palstic bag out in the garage is gettin filled up with empty soda bottles!  Soon I'm gonna make a S & S run!!!!  I might even sneak down to my mother in laws house and scoop up her empty's. That's how low I am.

              Give 5,

Yes, Stew's opened up in Yonkers along with Costco and Home Depot, I think it's been at least 5 years since they opened off the NY Thruway at the first Yonkers exit off I=87 going south of the Tappan Zee.

I'm not a beef eater, I usually visit Down the Hatch or the Olive Garden in Danbury.

Guess what?  I won another 2 bucks today, I had the Mega number 33 in last night's drawing, my total winnings so far this week is 9 bucks, and I gave my nephew 1 dollar of my winnings to buy gum, I'm so generous (lol), I promised him he can have anything when I win the big one, so he said he wanted a Mustang, but he doesn't drive yet, he's only 9 years old!

              Let's Go Sanchez !!!!!!!!!

You should give Take5 a spin.

I rarely play PB, MM or Lotto because the odds are so ridiculously long.  Take5 is bad enough at 575,757 to 1, but I've won about 20 bucks on each of 14 different occasions since April of 2009 when I started playing it regularly.  But you have to track or analyze the numbers to do that.  As for winning Free Plays in Take5, I've lost count as to how many I've won, but it's well over 100.  I usually play 3 bucks when I play, and I play 4 or 5 times a week. I'm not a high roller and I never bet more than I think I can afford to lose.  If I have some singles on me when I buy gas or go in a convenience store, then I'll buy Take5.  If not, then I usually dont play.

There hasn't been a Sweet Million million dollar winner since March 13.  If the odds are so much better (about 1 out of 4 million) than NY Lotto, Powerball or Mega Millions, why are there so few winners?  Are the Sweet Million tickets not selling, I don't get it?

The same thing happens with Mega Bucks and Cash WinFall from the Massachusetts Lottery.

"...a chance to push everything aside, the circumstances that've controlled our lives, and do it our way now. Good, bad or otherwise. You'll maybe get lost in it, tied up in it a little bit, but if you work your way through that the real you shows up, I think. Maybe what's at your core deep down, maybe that comes out. Maybe that's what it's about." Mike Pace

Someone in the Bronx hit $250,000 QP on Tuesday's MM in a store on Jerome Ave, the store isn't too far from where I purchase my tickets when I go to the Bronx.

My Mom plays Take5 and never wins much, so that's why I didn't consider playing it. She won $150.00 on MM last year when she had four numbers, my brother's friend won $10,000 on MM the last week in Dec. 2009, and in 2008 a bunch of guys in a pool at my brother's job won $250,000 on MM.  It's more exciting to me to have a chance at the really big money, and if I get back a little bit here and there that's ok, and I always have a chance to hit the $250,000, even though the chances are 1 in 3 million.  The way i look at it now is that I am donating money (by buying lottery tickets) to education and another winner's pocket, so I would rather do that instead of losing my money to the casino and tight slot machines!

Tough to compare the two - CT game & NY Take 5 but here is how I see it

to win $500 on CT - odds 1 in 22,913

                            to win ABOUT $500 in Take 5 - odds 1 in 3,386.81

Also the CT web site lists the following

-*Overall odds are 1 in 14.4. Top prize values subject to "split-prize" liability,

                            the NY Take 5 is

over all odds - 1 in 8.77 and top prize split also

so from a standpoint of odds NY Take 5 looks better.  But I have always liked the many different payouts that the CT game has and thought that was cool that 1 + lucky ball pays.  But now that I see the odds I see why they do it!!!!

Kapla, thanks for your response.  I forgot to post that a CT. Lucky for Life ticket costs $2.00, while NY Take 5 cost $1.00.
