Will be playing SuperLotto Plus tonight as it pays over 65% (if lump sum is chosen over annual payments). It will probably be reset as there have been multiple 5/5 prizes in recent draws.

Well the lottery gods have punished me again, 3 more $5 million jackpot losers. Not even a free ticket. This means my scratcher funds are depleted so I'll wait a couple weeks and try again. Best of luck to everyone still playing the $20 tickets, that is a tough game to beat without at least a grand in your bankroll.

No kidding, I experienced it myself.

Bought 100 tickets within a month and a half and lost $1000 at about 51% ROI.

I would buy $20 denomiation tickets but I do not like the pay structure of that ticket.

You are paying a lot for the top jackpot prize of $5 million. It would be better as a 2 or 3 million dollar jackpot and more $200 prizes in my opinion.

Essentially that is true, it is essentially similar to those Lucky for Life games. I would not buy tickets to try to win $5 million, I would have been fine with $2million as the top prize with lots of $200 - $500 in between. Seems like other states have it that way.

$20 game with 1,000,000 as GP would have interesting odds.  1 in 2,400,000 are GP odds for 5MJP.  5 times as many 1,000,000 prizes would put odds @ 1 in 480,000.  Ah well.

I've never bought a roll, but if I had enough money I believe California Black has the best odds on a $500 or $1000 win which you would probably need to turn a profit. In terms of pure return California Gold might be better because it has more smaller prizes.

I haven't played the $5 tickets much but with Silver 7s it would be really fast to scratch off a whole roll, if that's a consideration.

I also agree with biggwinner that if you are going to get a roll it is best to get CA Black or Diamond Millionaire (same payout table as CA Black), or maybe even the $20 game.

Odds of $500 is 1 in 1283 and $1000 is 1 in 2857, so on average 1 in 21 rolls will have a prize of $500 or more.

As for the $20 game, There are 1 in 11 odds for a roll to have a prize worth over $500 (barring if multiple mid-tier prizes are on the same roll). The lottery is a gamble, if you can spend $100 more at $600, might as well to this as your chances are better.

In this day and age with the taxes going up, getting a tax refund is rare.

I took a survey from the CA Lottery and it was more about prototypes so see which games look appearing

                  https://images.ipsosinteractive.com/americas/C1000993/HOT-MILLION_pu.jpg

I voted for that game, the other designs are all like Diamond Millionaire, this one is unique that it plays like the 7's game.

Here is a link to the survey to those interested

Not sure if it works for everyone.

There is no mention of a $20 game, also there is an unique SuperLotto Plus $5 scratcher prototype on there.

Rationally, we should only choose a game on odds, but my emotional reaction to the fire theme was that I would not play it. Fire reminds me of destruction, or of my money burning.

I like the diamond millionaire style but none of my local stores carry it. I guess I like diamonds better than fire.

Nice. That's what I've been asking for: a $10 game with symbol matching. Tired of all the number matching stuff, or worse even, crosswords. Hunting and pecking is for birds. I like symbol games that play quick like Silver 7's, but wish they had them in higher top prize amounts like $250k, or $1M. Looks like they're listening, so that's good.

Very nice prototype, but I'd rather the "$$" symbol be "WIN" or a moneybag or something easier. Aside from that nitpicking, I suggested these kinds of games to the Lottery years ago and was ignored. Would hope they're listening now and taking suggestions from these player surveys; they've got to make the game selection a little more diverse. Better odds for lower-tier prizes aren't bad, either.

or put up $165 more and get another $20 cause it has the best odds !!!

                              suggestions?

I appreciated that you gave a roll a shot and posted the results. It seems you got slightly above average roll.

Ticket is 1 in 10 and you got 3 expected was 3

$20 even is 1 in 8 and you got 4 expected was 3.75

                              $25 is 1 in 31 and you got 1 expected was 0.97

                              $50 is 1 in 20 and you got 1 expected was 1.5

                              $100 is 1 in 33 and you ot 2 expected was 0.96

If you had $400 - $600 to burn and lost $165, I;d still do another roll of $20 (from a different store) or the $10 game. but then again, your money your decision.

Going to buy 10 Bonus Crosswords tonight for myself.
