so being the gambler that i am ... crazy !!!

i went thru with the plan ...

took some money and bought the entire roll !

took the advice from this forum and checked the stats on calottery and decided to get the $20 roll ...

    here's the returns

    01-$20

    07-tix

    09-$20

    10-$50 ^^

    12-$20

    16-$100 ^^

    18-$20

    21-tix

    22-$100 ^^

    23-$25

    26-$20

    27-tix

So dished out $600, got back $435 ...

    a 72.5% return ...

not too bad ... wish it was in the plus but ... NOW ...

what do i do with the $435????

do i go get a $400 roll of the $5 scratchers?

put up another $65 and get a $10 roll?

or put up $165 more and get another $20 cause it has the best odds !!!

    suggestions?

Thanks for posting your results. Personally I like to go to several different stores with different rolls and try my luck with one ticket at each one. My theory is that there is no more than one $500 or larger prize in any one roll. If I buy tickets from many different rolls than it is possible I could hit multiple big prizes. Of course it is also possible that I get nothing.

I've heard some $20 rolls came out to less than $300 so buying a roll is no guarantee anyways.

Man, that's terrible. I know that ticket is selling like gangbusters, but I wish the California Lottery would implement a more creative game and more importantly, a better prize structure for their next $20 ticket, whenever that is.

Sorry to hear about those results. I agree with Chacha33 that we need a better $20 ticket. There should be a $200 or $250 prize level to make the game more exciting.

Sorry to hear, I did not state my reasoning to buy from a 2nd store in time, it will not matter now, it is because in the past when I had good wins off of one roll (bought a majority of the roll), the next roll with the next sequence number a retailer sells does not turn out so great. Happened to me about more times so now I do not buy the same game at the retailer if I had success with it until they get a roll number that is in a different number range.

As for myself did not do so hot either on Bonus Crosswords. Tickets 22-31: 0,0,0,tkt,tkt,0,20,0,tkt,0

Not a fan of crosswords, but right now its the most viable game to play with all these top prizes gone from other games and this one has a $10k second chance drawing this month.

For a $20 game, that's a big gap between #5 and #19 with #12 (break-even) sitting right in the middle.  Thanks for posting your results.

I tried a few different vending machines today. Bought one $20 ticket, 4 ca gold, 2 ca black, 3 bonus crossword, 2 silver 7s, 1 high roller poker, 1 mega crossword, 1 $500 frenzy and 1 20x the money. Got two tickets from ca gold and one $100 win from ca gold and decided to call it a day.

So total $140 out, $120 in.

Wow that 100 hit saved you from a disaster. Very nice.
Bought one high roller poker today as they ran out of the 500 frenzy.. Won 20 on it[#29]
Most I've won on that ticket so far. Good luck to everyone!

Noticed that Diamond Millionaire ticket sales have been slow  the last 2 months (since I started tracking).  Probably explains why

no big winners.  Most likely, still stockpiled in the warehouse.

5 game Win it All has the same story.

Yeah, I haven't seen any Diamond Millionaires being sold at places I frequent.  I'm still new to Scratchers, but so far, the $1 Million Fortune was my favorite $10 game.

DM & CBE have the same odds for prizes and the same prize breakdown as 1MF did.  The only difference (besides the ticket colors) are a hotspot on DM & 1MF, and the number of tickets printed.  1MF had 30 million, CBE has 28.4 million, and DM has 21.6 million.

I know what you mean.  When they were all active, given the chance, I would play 1MF over DM & CBE.  But they're pretty much the same game.

                        Go figure.

I am sure that the lack of Diamond Millionaire is due to CALottery promoting the CA Black games. More Black tickets are printed than Diamond millionaire.

But if the Diamond Millionaire were to end early and have a 2nd chance draw earlier, I would not mind that happening.
