I haven't been to the CA Lottery Scratchers website in a while. Today, I noticed that the new games don't show the odds anymore. I wonder if it's an oversight or permanent moving forward.

I just think there is a glitch with the new games on the website, the total number of prizes are way off compared to what the Retail Product Plan says. You get these funky odds with the incorrect number of total prizes available. I think it will be resolved later on, there is no need to mask the odds, otherwise it will be a disservice to the players when they've provided the odds to scratcher games for years.

Had one of those "Why not?" moments at the Shell down the street tonight and bought a Million $$ Match...got the bill symbol in the instant spot for a $100 win. Still doubtful about the Lottery's direction as a whole.

Good job on the win. Play scratchers on a recreational basis as a pot shot at millions.
The CA Lottery will be around as their pari-mutuel prize system protects them from operational losses. I just think they will not reach the profit margins on Scratchers like they have between 2009-2012. I do not think there are as many hardcore players judging by the number of entries submitted on 2nd chance are about 1/2 as what it used to be. Not many can keep sustaining 30-40% losses on thousands of dollars worth of play, I know for myself it hurts very bad.

Take this for what it's worth. One of the stores I would purchase lottery tickets at no longer sells them. The owner said that he had annual sales of more than $300,000 but his bonuses from winning tickets was about $6,000 so it was no longer worth it to him to contine to sell lottery tickets and scratchers. So according to this retailer no one was winning and he wasn't seeing the expected bonus from selling winners.

California Black Exclusive is still paying off for me. Bought just 2 tickets over the past few days and each was a $30 winner.
Isn't it lame how you have a better shot at winning $100 (1 in 82) than $30 (1 in 100) on this game and you happened to hit the worse odds twice? Still, better than losing. $30 is my highest win on this ticket, too.

From what I heard, becoming a retailer requires having a good amount of upfront funds to reap the benefits over time.
They intake 6% from each dollar of all lottery products they sell, not too big of a profit margin unless it is a $10 or $20 scratcher. Retailers buy rolls of scratchers at 6% off and they have to send 94 cents for each dollar sold on a draw game.
They get reimbursed 1% for the amount they cash out that is under the taxable value of $600. It comes at a cost of $24 a week.
Annual sales of $300,000 should easily see substantial profits unless things have radically changed as of late. The retailers on the news appear to like when the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots get large, as it helps stimulate their income from the lottery sales.
