Is Banned from Twitter cruel and unusual punishment?

And maybe that's what Attorney David Schoen meant when he said Trump wasn't given enough time to mount a defense and that was after saying the Senate acted too slowly. Eric told his Dad to use Rudy, but "NOooooooo".

But the Republican Senators will make sure Trump is not convicted and pretend like the attack on the Capital Building never happened. But not all because apparently six believe the trial is within the Constitution. It's easy to see why Senator Romney voted for it.

We talked about ordinary people getting banned from social media sites like Facebook and Twitter for sharing things they probably never watched or read, but what about someone that is "compelled" to say something anything regardless if it's misleading, inaccurate, or a flat out lie. Punishment comes in different forms and at the end of the day it might not matter what the Republican Senators do if Trump is banned from most social and news media.

What was their point?

On Thursday the House Republicans held a secret ballot to remove Liz Cheney from her leadership role but didn't hold a vote on removing Marjorie Greene from the House Committees she was on. Considering Cheney survived with a vote of 145 to 66 with a 79 vote margin, a secret ballot, and not voting on Greene, what was their point? They could have simply made a few phone calls, but there is no drama in that.

With Greene's election, it's starting to look like the conspiracy theorist have a hold and quite a bit of influience on the current Republican Party. And appantly only a few of their House members will her and other theorist accountable. It's one thing to say, the Moon landings were staged, the Earth is flat, big foot lives, and many of the other Youtube theories making the rounds, but mocking a Parkland School shooting survivor by calling them an idiot is not what normal honest people expect in a House Rep.

Greene believes with zero proof the election was stolen and Trump really won.

No Republican!

Senator voted to advance the Covid-19 stimulus package. Never could figure out why some average working men and woman voted for a political party that doesn't have their constituents best interests in mind. Is it because they want those people to hurt financially or are they just out of touch? The package will probably add another $2 trillion to the deficit, but why ignore the large number of Americans that are really hurting?

I know people that haven't worked since March 2020 that still haven't received their first unemployment check let alone the $600 weekly extra checks some get. People are complaining because many school systems are closed and this package has funds designed to help schools reopen. Rand Paul will find out in November 2022 if the voters in Kentucky remember his "no" vote and I'm sure someone will make sure the voters won't forget.

Is it possible to be too analytical?

Maybe it's because I was trained to be a problem solver and trouble shooter, but it's something that stays with us. Taking things literally also comes with the territory. For instance after reading "Blogs often reflect the personality of the author (the "Blogger").", I sort of expected most Blogs to be the Blooger's thoughts, but many have links expressing thoughts of non LP members with opinions that can't be questioned.

Not knocking what people Blog, just wondering how articles written by someone else with no comment reflect the personality of the Blogger.

Banned from Facebook or Twitter?

Six of my Facebook friends were banned and two others were given time outs. The time outs were giving for sharing something the Facebook monitors thought was inappropriate. The other six shared and posted lots of untrue political stuff and some misleading Covid-19 information.

One friend that was banned (and yes I do have friends that lean far right) often complained that he has the Right of Free Speech and should be allowed to post his opinion on anything. I tried to explain that when he signed up, he agreed to their terms and conditions, but he said I was siding with them. At best I could only tell him to be careful of what he posts and shares on Facebook.

Read where they are finding lots of social media posts and messages showing the riots were well planned. I know people with over 1000 on their friend's list and they can't vouch for everyone of them. Getting a social media ban or given a time out is one thing, but don't get caught up in the Capital Building riot investigations.

SNL did a skit on getting "caught up in the moment".

Full list of Joe Biden's executive orders

Right here

Saw where the EO "promoting racial equity", "requiring mask-wearing on federal property", and "coordinating a government-wide Covid-19 response" are driving the MAGA people nuts. How about "assisting veterans with debt", "expanding food assistance programs", or "Re-establish President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology"?

Probably not because of what the EO are but the fact Joe broke the record Trump set. Trump rescinded at least 20 of Obama's in his first 100 days in office so why are the MAGA people whining about Joe Biden rescinding Trump's EO?

And a list of Trump's EOs

"Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the U.S." but almost four years later after his rally, a mob of his supporters went to the Capital Building to "hang Mike Pence".

But seriously, it's something even Presidents in the same party did. It's done to establish their policies. agendas, and campaign promises. Some Executive Orders were overturned by the Supreme Court; FDR had several.

Fun fact, Calvin Coolidge signed 1,203 Executive Orders. Dwight Eisenhower was the last President with over 400 orders.

"Office of the Former President"

Jimmy Carter, W Bush, Bill Clinton or maybe Barack Obama?

Nope Trump created and announced it today. Is he finally acknowledging what the majority of Americans already know?

Can't wait to read the spin on this one. Lurking

"if you don't fight like hell you won't have a country"

Isn't that similar to the type of rhetoric used in Europe prior to WWII?

The Capital Building wasn't destroyed, but the goals sure look almost exactly the same as the burning of the Reichstag in 1933. Sort of feel sorry for the "caught up in the moment" people that believed Trump when he said “We’re going to walk down, and I’ll be there with you,” but doubt the courts will take that or "the devil made me to it" as grounds for acquittal.

Hopefully Congress will pass a stimulus package before debating what should be obvious.

They say the "Devil made them do it"...

........ or something like that. "Caught up in the moment" seems to be another defense people are using.  Don't understand the logic a trial to remove someone from an office they no longer hold unless it's an attempt to prevent the person from holding a future elected office. But if those people have their charges dismissed because the were "just following orders", it could become a nightmare for the person that gave the orders.

Off topic: wonder how many MM tickets were sold near the Mar-a-lago Club and can we imagine all the speculation if the winning MM ticket was sold near there?

Which is more unlikely, a $970 million jackpot or getting 71 million votes?

Sad that with zero proof of voter fraud, lots of people still not only believe there was, but believe it was widespread and effected millions of votes. I wonder how many of the 71 million are still acknowledging how they voted after watching the attack on the Capital Building that killed five people?

I don't have a link to a non-Lottery Post member's opinion to agree or disagree with, but it's like posting an opinion of a player that got very lucky and won a couple scratch-off jackpots schooling us on how to win PB, MM, or 50 cent pick-3 box win.

Just maybe after both MM and PB jackpots are won, most will get back to reality, but some will stay in dreamland.

Entry #50

Will the MM jackpot be won tonight?

Saw where 113,554,855 tickets were sold for Saturday's MM drawing and while it seems high, if every ticket had a unique combo, only 37% of all combos were sold. With this super high cash value, the question of how many tickets should be purchased to get a reasonable chance of winning a nice prize. The chances are different than fixed prize daily games because one $2 ticket gets multiple chances to win different prize levels.

It depends on how players define "nice prize" and to me it's more than I could win purchasing a $1 straight pick-3 or pick-4 number. Matching 4 numbers plus the bonus ball gets $10,000, but the odds against are 1 in 931,001 compared to a $2 pick-4 straight ticket that can win the $10K at 1 in 10,000 odds. Some might say without the megaplier option, the only "nice prizes" are the $1 million for matching all five numbers and of course the jackpot.

With overall odds 1 in 24, it cost $48 to guarantee winning something and that something will probably be $10 or under. Don't spend more than you can afford and don't expect to win, but be happy if you do.

That being said, good luck everybody!

No mask, No entry, No service, No questions

Saw this sign on entrance of store where I was going to buy lottery tickets. The county has a 6.65% rate of positive Covid-19 cases. When I went in a woman was buying scratch-off and I noticed she wasn't wearing a mask so I backed up. And I saw the clerk didn't have on a mask either. Didn't say a word, just walked out the door.

Had there been no sign, no problem, a sign saying "enter at your own risk", no problem, but why put up a sign with rules your clerk doesn't follow. Went to another store with a "please wear a mask" sign and got my tickets.

What is Antifa?

Read and heard all sorts of stuff about antifa so I decided to ask a reliable conservative source, The Deseret News in Salt Lake City. This is what they said:

"Put simply, antifa is an unstructured movement known for using counterprotests and physical force to stand against fascists and racists."

I get it, they are "against fascists and racists" with no real organization. But if that's true, why were some of the self proclaimed anti fascist and anti racists people trash the Capital building along side of the Trump supporters? I could understand if they were fighting the MAGA people or trying to stop them from trying to destroy the Capital building, but lots of the Republicans are saying even the guy with silly horned hat was with the antifa people.

What? Are you correcting me and that guy is Jake Angeli a well-known QAnon evangelist and ardent Trump supporter? My bad, How about the guy with his feet on Nancy's desk, bet he is antifa, right? Nope, that is Richard Barnett another active Trump supporters. Wonder what if the Israeli new people think Robert Keith Packer wearing a "Camp Auschwitz" hoodie was antifa?

Won't comment on the guy wearing the 6MWE tee shirt, but can easily see why an anti fascist would not like him or Richard Barnett.

The entire UK Basketball Team including coaches took a knee.

And the Big Blue Nation is divided!

Apparently it was during the playing of the National Anthem. I didn't see it and probably the only ones that did were the people at the game because ESPN was showing the final minute of another game when it happened. I guess it all comes down to how people express their First Amendment Rights (as long as it's not "yelling fire in a crowded building").

As usual I stirred the pot a little by asking how many people watching TV actually stand for the playing of the National Anthem or are they in the kitchen getting that snack and their drink of choice before the game starts. All the discussion started after this Wildcat team finally showed their real potential with a decisive win and without knowing exactly why they chose to take a knee. Wonder what would be said had the lost in a decisive manner.

TRUMP TALK is now a thing of the past.

Because we can no longer read it on Twitter. Yeah I know, Twitter, Facebook, and other social medias are not covered by the 1st Amendment because of TOS agreements, but still they let the old guy go on and on for years. So it's no wonder he finally went to far and their fault. Social media wasn't the only enablers because many Republican Reps and Senators were even worse. Why didn't McConnell, Graham, Cruz, or Hawley or some of the 130 House Reps that wasted time objecting to counting Electoral votes attempt to counsel Trump?

Even the die-hard Trump supporters knew a crash course in governing would not be enough, but experienced people around him could have, should have given him sound advice but apparently didn't. It started innocently enough by bragging about the crowd size at his inauguration which he said was the biggest ever when it wasn't even close. I can relate to self confidence but don't brag about something that is easy proved to be wrong.

It wasn't that Trump had inexperience advisers, it was more like if he didn't like what the said, he let them go. It's starting to look like he listened and took the advice of Limbaugh, Hannity, Bannon, Beck, and even Alex Jones more than his Vice President. Why would Trump assume Pence would help him overturn the results when Congress recorded the Electoral votes to only get to say "Et tu Michael?". It was because Pence was a major enabler.

The worst of the enablers were the people packing his rallies and sending him "get out of town" money. I won't say Trump knew the likely outcome when he said he would march with his supporters to Capitol, but he did watch it unfold and too little too late. It starting to look like he was wrong saying he "could shoot someone in the middle of a crowd on 5th Avenue and get away with it".

Doubt he'll resign or be removed from office after being impeached for a second time and I'm pretty sure someone will hide the launch codes from him. He should go to Florida, plays some golf, and relax.
