Have you won a big JP?
I would be very interested in knowing about the financial planners part. How do you pick and choose which professionals to hire? How do you know whom to trust? How do you know that they would be working for your best interest instead of theirs? Do you have to give up control of your money? Can you terminate the relationship at any moment without risking a lawsuit? etc etc These are questions that can't objectively be answered by professionals you are going to hire.

20/20 Special Lotto Frenzy: Be Careful What You Wish For
The mother of his grandchild (his daughter) is also dead. She died of an overdose I believe. Grandaughter boyfriend died in their house of an overdose (lawsuit settlement) Grandaughter died, his daughter died, wife couldn't take it anymore and left, so that's half of the money gone in the divorce. As soon as he won business partners and people he contracted with started to sue, so he had to defend himself to the tune of I think he said $3,000,000 to lawyers. Just bad

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
Original Post by visiondude anyone can get up on a witness stand and claim to be an expert , and unless it's the opposing attorney's first day on the job, he would MAKE HIM -------- prove it you forgot about that part of it Sorry, that is incorrect. If a person is designated an expert witness and accepted as such, he/she only explains procedures. They are not required to prove they are expert witnesses. They don't have to actually demonstrate with all kinds of lottery testing data for

The Lottery and Marriage: What would you do?
I hardly ever watch TV. I've seen two cases on TV. Read about Anne Nicole Smith and her son and Brittany Murphy and Heath Ledger and DJ AM online. I read a lot of non fiction articles. I have personally seen things happen. Such as with my mother's last husband (who has sinced passed away). When they were separating and he was moving out. He had purchased a handgun and told the next door neighbor that he wanted to kill both me and my mother for what reason other than to obtain her house, her s

Big news for Internet Explorer 6/7/8 users!
There is no reason to trust Google software based on what they do with data from their search engine and other information available on the net. Yes, all search engines are now required to keep data for a period of time. Since the net isn't much good without a search engine, I said I was willing to accept Google's search policy. People should be concerned, non-technical or otherwise. I think anyone that isn't concerned about the spying that goes with the internet is naive. 6. Google's to

Office Pool Lotto Questions
I'm a fairly bright fellow, but new to the Office Pool Lotto concept. I know several board members have said they'd never play in an office pool for fear of lawsuit, etc. etc. However, I've made the decision to put one together (we just had a million dollar winner in our small hometown) so I'm not asking whether I should do it or not. To those of you who are much more knowledgeable I pose these questions: Do you let each member pick their own numbers or do you just have the lotto computer

How are your state lottery funds spent?
According to the Iowa Lottery website they do this: For more than 22 years, Iowa Lottery profits have helped to make Iowa a better place to live, work and raise a family. Since its start in 1985, the Iowa Lottery has provided entertainment and prizes to its players while at the same time raising more than $1.1 billion for the state programs that benefit all Iowans. And, the lottery continues to add tens of millions of dollars in profits to that total each year. Through the years, l

When do you need to get a lawyer?
This is a bit like asking when you need a lawyer if you're arrested. Even if you're innocent, unless the charges are very minor (or you aren't worried about the consequences) you need a lawyer as soon as you're arrested. Unless you've already taken the necessary steps to protect yourself, your estate, and your heirs, when you need a lawyer is the same. You need a lawyer the instant you have enough money, or are entitled to the money, that it's worth some effort to protect it. Of course you wo

Who really need money?
As I posted on another thread: Most successful people worked hard and/or got a good break and ran with it. Most unsuccessful people didn't. Some people worked hard, but ran into some illness or bad luck. Some lazy slobs happened to be born into wealth or filed the right lawsuit. We're not going to change the crappy attitudes of everyone we meet. Equal opportunity doesn't mean equal outcome. So, you either have to make your own way ... or get one of those trust-fund babes jxp

Protection after a huge jackpot lottery win
JackpotWanna How about Alarm systems ADT inside the gated community. High-rise condo next a police station. ADT is a good alarm company with a history of reliable service to its customers. But as I said, any alarm system can be defeated if the person knows what needs to be done. With $270 million one can afford some bodyguards. Anyway in the beginning. Dogs - one have to take care it and if the dog bites someone then lawsuits are coming. Yes, with $270 million you could easily afford
