You scan your PB/MM ticket and it reads " See the Clerk"..
See the clerk = Lawsuit I check my tickets immediately after the drawing. I do not need a machine to confirm any winnings. When my wins are small, I make it very clear that this ticket is a winner, the amount of the win and lean over the counter in an intimidating way watching every move until the cash hits my hands. 7 - 11 staff knows the routine very well.

For Fun: You a regular participant in your lottery pool but this time...
There was a story in the News Forum about a group or Realtors who shared their jackpot with a new co-worker who declined to play. They voted to give her a full share which put anyone on the spot if they didn't want to share. It really depends on how many former employees, friends, or whoever think they have a right to a share because they weren't asked to participate. The last thing anyone wants who just won a share of jackpot is to face a lawsuit.

if a lottery official's kid won either the PB/MM jackpot. ..
Despite what the lottery committee may say-I still see a lawsuit in the making here. Why should you have to deny yourself a chance at millions simply because your parent works for the lottery? Its not like the parent is selling secrets of how to win the lottery . It's laughable. I would sure like to know whether the children of lottery committee members are required to sign papers stating that they will not attempt to play any of the games including the jackpots?

American Greed on CNBC
I was shocked that Abraham was missing for seven months and his own mother and girlfriend did not reported him missing. Abraham was also sued by his coworker who said he stole the winning ticket. (Abraham won the lawsuit).

Computer draw vs ball set draw. Which do u prefer
yourluckynumbers (lottery employee): I've only seen the inside of a draw game machine once. But the process by which the numbers are drawn gave me a bit of a nerdgasm. Without going into too much detail (again, trying to avoid a lawsuit), the design of the machine is nothing short of brilliant. It's a sophisticated combination of toggling hardware, RNGs, and algorithms all working in an elaborate sequence to kick out a random data set. The science behind it is crazy.

I love lottery post so much. I deactivated my Facebook account...
They do seem to contradict themselves so any contradiction should benefit the little guy. I do keep my settings on private. There are some Q and A's I read from facebook where they claim the opposite and say they only are referring to advertising only. I do know if anyone was aware of them using their images for 3rd party/ profit , a lawsuit would probably have been filed by now and I have not heard about one. If you have any image in a magazine or newspaper you do have to sign a similar release

PowerBall finally may has the edge it's been seeking
Oh boy, if you should win you better hope the person that originally bought it doesn't show up and try to claim it as theirs. Otherwise, we will all be reading about you on the news forum under a jackpot lawsuit topic.

Illinois and the other non-anonymous states need to learn from this
I wonder if the MM or PB was starting up today, if there would be more anonymous options, or mayhap something of that ilk written into the agreements before states were allowed to join; simply BECAUSE of all the tech-y invasive possiblities that are available today... At somepoint some idiot will get killed from all the press simply because they were not allowed the option of anonymity and the state or the MM/PB itself will get embroiled in a lawsuit that will go federal. That will be a sad

Returning a lotto ticket.
Karma, fate has a way of paying you back , so I say find the owner, they will know where the ticket was purchased and the lottery can verify the date, place and time. Why go through all the crazy lawsuit stuff anyway, they might give you a reward.

POLL - On The Whole Do The Lotteries Provide Truly Random Numbers?
Yes, of course...you can sue anyone. I think it is a valid assumption that if you buy a QP, that you have a valid ticket for the drawing. If the matrix at the terminal where you bought your ticket only went up to 500,000 combinations and the winning number wasn't there, the whole integrity of the lottery is at stake. I would think a class action lawsuit would be in order and the judgment, even if only for the cost of the ticket, would be quite hefty.
